my fave commercial is back!

A Toys R’ Us commercial. It’s the one with hundreds of cute white bunnies singing (in chipmunk voices), “Here comes Peter Cottontail, hoppin’ down the bunny trail…”, and Geoffrey the Giraffe is saying “OK, OK, We’ll have an Easter Sale. Just make it stop! Make it stop!”

makes me giggle hysterically.

I love that commercial! It gets a giggle out of me every time.

Haven’t seen that commercial, but this seems like a good place to hijack:

My favorite new commercial is for Burger King. It’s the one where they’re handing out the lunch order at work, hot woman asks for her whopper with extra mayo, guy with mayo on his face says that they must’ve messed up the order because he can’t find it. She grabs him by the tie, licks the mayonaisse off his face, and walks out. The funny part is after she leaves, there’s an uncomfortable silence, then the co-worker makes this “you got burned!” sound.

That one cracks me up every damn time I see it.

Another good one I just thought of is for some credit card commercial. A woman is stapling up a reward sign for a lost hamster, and a passing guy notices she’s got a hamster crawling around in the back of her shirt. He starts fumbling around in her shirt to retrieve it without her noticing. Priceless.

UGH! that commercial actually makes me gag. I have to avert my eyes or change the channel.

I just KNEW it was the bunny commercial. I love it, too. Can’t stop giggling, each time it comes on. Those squeaky little bunnies…

I always scream at the TV, “Kiss her, goddamn it! She’s hot!” He could have so easily turned the tables by simply shifting his face an inch. Opportunities lost.

I saw the bunny commercial for the first time ever (That I can remember, at least.) after reading this. It’s really cute, but I am a sucker for bunnies.

Those bunnies and their squeaky voices give me the creeps.

Has the Cadbury Egg commercial with the bunny clucking like a chicken been run this year? That’s my husband’s favorite, and for a while there, it ran annually.

I haven’t been watching much TV lately, but I did catch the singing bunnies - it is pretty funny.

I love the singing bunnies, but I haven’t had a chance to see them yet this year.

My current favorite is for Dairy Queen’s Cheesecake Blizzards. Dad carrying baby in a front-pack tries to keep baby’s fingers out of his Blizzard, and baby takes Dad to the floor with one well-placed heel kick to the crotch. I laugh every time I see it.

I’m still loving the I-Pod (?) commercial with the song by Jett (Are You Gonna be my Girl?). I have to jump out of my chair and cut a rug with my kitty.

 I like that one, too.

I miss the M&M’s Easter commercial with the little kid dressed up like a chicken.

Kid 1: “THANK YA, EASTAH BUNNY!!!”
Kid 2: “BAWK BAWK!!!”

Sonic finally got a laugh out of me this week. You know their latest commercial series with the two jackasses who seem to be hopelessly thrown if they try to eat at any other restaurant besides Sonic? Their latest one has them discussing the low-carb craze. The passenger says he wanted to cut out something, so he chose vitamin E. He then tries to take a sip of his coke and has trouble finding his mouth with the straw.

I think the point in that ad is that he thinks she’s hot, too, but is literally petrified* by the possibility that she might be moving in to kiss him. Especially if he’s fantasized about her in the past.

*) Okay, not literally petrified. He doesn’t actually turn to stone. I just mean he’s so stunned that he’s unable to move.

There were two American commercials that I liked, one featured a cat sitting on the stairs, the cat sneezes and fur flies everywhere. Voice Over Man says “shedding problem?” I have no idea what the ad was for … but it made me laugh.
The other shows a Neanderthal man journeying across a variety of dangerous terrains, carrying a little wooden lamp thing, he staggers into the cave where his family etc are, and they stare in wonderment as he grunts and points. The leader of the group steps forward and in perfect English says “It’s great. But I wanted a Bud Light”

Chuck Porter, of Crispin Porter+Bogusky (the agency that created this ad) recently gave a talk that I attended. He showed off his agency’s massive, world-renowned, award-winning reel, and talked about the creative strategies and inspirations for each campaign. The room was in hysterics.

Then he said, “Our work for Burger King is just breaking. I’m not real sure about it. So I’ll just show it and see what happens.” It was clear that he had misgivings about the work. So he rolled the tape, and the “mayonnaise” spot mentioned above was the only one in the campaign that got any reaction. You could hear crickets chirping after the other three executions.

Chuck hates focus groups, but when 200 of your peers say something sucks, it’s time to regroup.

MY current favorite commercial is the one with Tiger Woods. It’s for American Express, “official credit card of the Classics” He’s doing a Bill Murray parody, of the groundskeeper in Caddyshack “oh, Mr. Gopher!

Oh, I know, but its a continuation of the little office power game they have going. He ate her sandwich. She reacts by attempting to “burn” him. He reacts by surprising her with a full-on French kiss.

Game, set, match.

I was just going to say “I don’t know the product for the second commercial you’ve described…” when I realised the description answers that question. Duh.

The first with the cat is for, I believe, a vacuum. It was pretty funny.
