My very first MMP!

Boston Baked Beans? Just sayin’.

Johnny, I’m going to make your “casserole” one of these days for friends I owe dinner. Sounds delish.

Well, that’s reassuring, but why can’t I see it? I can see everyone else’s. The plot thickens. Thanks much for letting me know! Oh, and the red picture is a photo I took when I climbed under a Japanese maple bush last fall.

Well, the driver needs to go back to 4th grade and learn numbers. He left apartment #204’s package at my door, and one of the neighbors left my package at my door just now.

That seems to happen a lot in apartment complexes. For about six months, da Jungle was leaving my packages in 1108. I live in 1008. The third time I made a complaint, it finally got fixed. Now, I get them on my doorstep. My neighbor was always nice about it and I would pick the packages up when walking Nelson, but dang it, he isn’t always going to live there.

We grill zucchini. It is also good in tempura.

Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) noticed that the washer agitator was not agitating. I ordered a repair kit. Only the cams, or dogs, the little things that make it ratchet fit, but you could churn butter with the damn thing now. Nice to work together; I pulled the agitator out, and she was able to free the cam thing when I couldn’t.

That was the original plan, only baked instead of fried. But there was entirely too much zucchini for that.

Hey, any excuse to eat meaty spaghetti sauce and cheese!

Evening all. Soccer has been practiced with the 10U, but the light is starting to get a bit thin about 7pm, so another week or two and I’ll have to move practice to 5-6:30pm. All the kids showed up and seem to be doing well with each other (not noticing any bullying/name calling) and the parents are complimentary (so far…).

Have read all but too tired to respond much. Hope all is well and catch you all come 2day.

I got around to gutting one of my pumpkins before losing momentum. The curtain rod will have to keep till tomorrow; in fact, I got some hooks for the kitchen while I was out getting cilantro and stuff, so I might as well get all the wall-drilling stuff done in one big whoosh. Tomorrow.

I did manage a bit of serious adulting tonight, and packaged most of the leftover black beans into heavy zip bags, which are labeled and freezing flat at the moment. I can have homemade beans quickly on a work night - I have got to do this more often!
I hate leftovers, but single-serving sizes like this, I can do.

Oh, I also couldn’t resist strawberries on sale for a dollah (!) so between those and the beans, I had a damn healthy, fruit- and veg- heavy day. Not a drop of alcohol, either. That sound y’all hear is my life span extending back out after years of low-level abuse.

May we all ship you more strawberries and black beans?

@Bumbazine, glad you stuck with us!

The dry pool dive team definitely needed to learn about decaf. When calling tech support, it is a very good idea to SHUT UP and allow the person helping you to finish a sentence! The “front line” imbeciles were apparently too cowardly today, for the most part, to actually do warm transfers. I especially hate it when I get a caller who didn’t KNOW they were being transferred until they hear a new voice on the line, and they really hate having to go through security authentication a second time because of this.

Bonus points for getting home, feeding the cat, and settling in only to hear “hurk hurk”. Thankfully, the Princess uploaded on vinyl, so easy to clean, but I really could have done without the “pleasure” of cleaning up warm cat barf.

One piece of good news: DH is OK to resume his light-duty gig at the thrift store as of next week. It’s better for his mental well-being to be working

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to sort.

Bumba, eek! glad you’re gonna be OK.

Last night, I started cutting away the carpet that will be replaced so the painters can do the baseboards more easily. I just did the hallway because the carpenter will replace the trim around a couple of doors today. I don’t think they’ll do any painting there yet. I believe the plan is to paint both guest bedrooms.

After they’re gone, FCD and I will move our bed into the larger guest room and they can paint our room tomorrow. And before we move it back, I’m going to shampoo the carpet in our room. It’ll be done in sections because I’m not taking the rest of the furniture out. I’ll clean along the walls, move the chest and dresser back after it dries, then clean the middle. At that point, the bed can go back. Poor Ziva will be so confused!!

And after our bedroom is all back together, I’ll clean the carpets in the other 2 bedrooms before assembling them. Then we’ll need to buy a bed for the middle guest room. I’ve already ordered bedding and curtains - it’ll be a pretty room!

Window treatments for the living room and the dining room are still up in the air, tho we’re leaning towards valences only for both. We had sheers over the sliding doors in the dining room, and the cat(s) managed to make a mess of them. Plus they were always open, so what’s the point? But NO CAMO!!! So don’t bother with such suggestions! :stuck_out_tongue:

Temps dropped into the 50s overnight - it’s chilly in here! Of course, the ceiling fan being on doesn’t help matters. Today’s big challenge will be entertaining Roxy, keeping her out of the way of the painters. No clue how I’ll handle nap time. She can sleep in my bed if she’ll sleep. Big “if” there. She may be a cranky baby tonight - too bad for her parents.

And so it goes. Happy Tuesday!!

Afternoon, mumpers! Happy Toosday, everyone…been a busy one already today. I was up bright and early for a 7.30am outdoor exercise class and back home in time to get logged in to work before my boss was up and about

We are still trying to work out all the problems from yesterday when we tried to release results and decisions for all our students, and it turned into a real dog’s breakfast. Nothing seems to have worked properly so we’ve bundled everything up and thrown it back to the folks in charge of student admin so they can tell us what we need to do. Nothing we’ve thought of, or tried, has worked properly so we are officially at a loss.

In the middle of all this (which is meant to be “drop everything else and do this” kind of thing), we’re expected to do all sorts of induction and document-reading and form-filling to go back to campus next week. We’re not allowed back until we’ve done it, and got an official document confirming we can be there. At this rate, it’ll be the middle of next week before I get time to look at it.

Bumba so glad to hear that you recovered from the trauma of a protein bar! Those things are dangerous! Good to know that you’re ok though.

Mooooom painting sounds like it’s making good progress. Have they converted you to country music yet?

That’s all I have time for…irk beckons!

Fine! No camo (dammit). This isn’t camo:

No camo here:

Happy to be of service, FCM!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN I was a slug a bed until almost seven-thirty! :open_mouth: ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 82 (BRRR!) with rain/tstorms/apocalypse predicted for this afternoon and most of the rest of the week. We shall see. Seems Miss Sally is headed for the gulf coast as a slow movin’ tropical storm and is predicted to hover around two to three days when she makes shore. The last time we had a slow movin’ tropical storm hover around was in 1994 and resulted in a major flood. Sally is most definitely not welcomed to hang around and do that! The big item on today’s agenda is laundry. Woo and Hoo. We shall sup upon tacos, rice, and refried beans. OLÈ! Fartfest to follow.

I, indeed , did get myself elected to be a virtual delegate and virtual Diocesan convention which will take place November sixth and seventh. It will consist of three, and if needed four, two hour sessions spread out over two days. Shouldn’t be too bad. Should I be formal and invest in a pair of silk pjs to wear?

Bumba yikes! Glad you survived. On the plus side, if you want, you could make one righteous rant on the evils of eatin’ healthy and how it can kill you. Let your imagination go wild!

Everyone else, I read all but retention is pretty much non-existent so, yays, boos, hugs, trouts, chitlins, noogies, and how you doin’s all around, as needed.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

My goodness, Bumba! I am so glad you’re okay! It’s still smokey as all get out where I live, and I didn’t see a single drop of rain. I haven’t been able to open my windows for days now, much less get out and walk or run. I am tired of my house being stuffy and want some fresh air.

I came in to see if perhaps our Swampy had posted that he was going to be somewhere today because his usual “Good morning” post is not on FB. I hope all is well and he’s just busy or opting to take a day off.

My second grandbaby is due to make his or her arrival anytime now. So, I now sleep with the cellphone next to the bed in case the call comes in the middle of the night. We will need to race up to near Seattle to collect the first grandchild. I can’t wait to mee the newest member of our family.

Well, I need to finish loading the dishwasher and then start working. I so want to retire; and I am actually eligible to do so right now. Unfortunately, it just doesn’t make financial sense. I can’t wait until the days are mine.

Morning all. Nice to see Taters, of the famous N.O.T., dropping by. And great news of grandbaby #2–of course, since you posted it here, pictures are now required…

Still warm here, heading for 84F today, no rain from Sally yet, the storm is 300+ miles away, but give it until Thorsday… Need to make a short drive to ensure the map I’m giving the 12U girls team (we play at another park about 15 miles away this Saturday) is accurate. Also need some kitchen cleanup work to be done.

On the good news front, my new annuity started monthly payments this month, so I’ll have a little more cash in the bank each month now. Maybe spend it on cake…

FCM, have fun moving furniture and driving Ziva nuts.

swampy, enjoy virual delegating, and silk pj’s are a must for a 2-day convention…

Boo fae, sounds like things have moved past SNAFU and are rapidly approaching FUBAR, take care.

Nettie, how you keep your temper is beyond me (both with customers and fellow cow-orkers). Glad DH is able to be about some work.

Bumba, any updates? Still not dead yet?

OK, back to internetting. All y’all take care.

I have a sister who would love this. She had her kitchen painted in a cow motif - white with black spots!

Crown molding is up in the living room. Bedrooms now have pale blue walls. Roxy is eating fried rice and watching videos on my tablet since the TV is inaccessible at the moment. I’ll be putting her down to nap in my bed - hoping she doesn’t have an accident… Maybe I should put a towel under the sheet just in case.

Daughter’s fridge appears to have died, so we just ordered a new one for us (FCD hates our fridge) and we’ll let them have ours at a cheap price. Finding an available fridge that isn’t stupid expensive is a real challenge, but we scored one that should be here next week. We shall see…

swampy you need BLACK silk pjs, cuz it’s formal.

Woke up with a migraine but managed to come to irk. Now I feel like I’m gonna puke so I think I will be going to home.
