My very first MMP!

Well, the storm still hasn’t arrived (a little rain started falling about 4pm) so the lawn has been mowed despite my prevarications, did a little shopping but am now inside and awaiting whatever rain didn’t get dropped on swampy

Cats, hope the pain recedes (and not your gums).

talky, just looked up hornworms, and jeez, those are big f… fellows. Anything your mom can do to get rid of them?

FCM, glad you found the problem, when I was redoing my bedrooms and living room I found some termite damage that had been around for 10 years or so (I have a service to stop termites) and need baseboard and wall work. Best be done now rather than a problem later.

All ya’all take care; no nappage today so probably an early evening for me.

You’ve discovered the reason why I have a professional quality sound machine a foot from the head of my bed. I want to go salt their lawn after it gets dark. I could do it without stepping off the sidewalk. It’s not like I practice my bagpipe outside their bedroom at 2am. But that’s an idea…maybe there is a bagpipe in my neighborhood pawnshop. Why my neighborhood has a pawnshop instead of a neighborhood microbrewery and taproom is another bone of contention. Don’t get me going…

It’s those “we just need to” statements that turn into 4 trips to Home Depot before all is said and done. Trips me up every time.

Try enjoying a mug of strong coffee with the Aleve-caffeine potentiates the Aleve so you get more and faster pain relief. I hope the dentist told you it is ok to take more naproxen for dental pain than what the makers say on the bottle. Mine has always told me that 500mg. twice a day was ok. All of this advice is my way of saying you have my sympathy. Wish I could do more.

Color in the bedrooms and the master bath: SW6504 - Sky High. Contrasting color below the rail in the bathroom - SW6505 - Atmospheric.
Main color in the rest of the house is SW6253 - Olympus White, contrast below chair rails: SW6254 Lazy Gray.

All trim is white semi-gloss. Thanks for voting. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve finished the evening’s carpet cleaning. Baby’s room is all done, perimeter of master is done, both fans are on high so the carpet should be dry come morning.

All that remains to be done this evening is to load the dishwasher. Whew!

I actually did have a cup of coffee with my Aleve. :coffee:

The pain isn’t as bad as the gum sensitivity. They had to pack a string around the tooth for about an hour to “expose the margins”. I got an overlay crown because the tooth had more cracks than they realized before they removed the huge filling. That huge filling is why the tooth cracked in the first place.

More news: Tabitha didn’t have a bladder infection, just stress. The vet gave her some chill pills to help her deal with the changing cat social dynamic. I wonder if CBD oil works on cats. That might help her too. I’ll suggest it to Seasonal when she brings me the happy cat pheromone plug-in that they were using when Dermot was a kitten.

Nope, one more thing needs to be done this evening. Pour yourself your favorite beverage* and curl up with a good book, a Netflix binge or da ‘Dope. You’ve earned it and then some.

*(Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, a brewski or other adult beverage, entirely up to you)

I will, however, need the brand name of the paint manufacturer so I can look up the colors on line, just in case the Mumpers Decorators Guild needs to intervene. Is it Sherwin Williams?

Boo

swampy, if you shave all of your hair off, you wouldn’t be Fuzzy Wuzzy (was he?). :stuck_out_tongue:

Happy birthday to Mr. Potatohead !

sari, dot was right about the Kong toys to keep a dog quietly occupied. You can stuff them with all sorts of things.
Kong treat

wordy, we used to get horn worms in the tomatoes really bad. The worm poop that you see is actually from the larvae, so there are likely more to come.

cat, I hope you’re eating real food soon.

Our weekend reconciler came in for some training this afternoon. There was a Zoom meeting with the supe with her, the weekend guy, the old bat and me, then, with the meeting in the background, WEG sat in with me, then the old bat for individualized training. I put the headset back on when he went to her desk to talk to the supe and found out that the old bat is clueless with the mute button. Oh well. :stuck_out_tongue:

I came home, paid bills, cleaned out the freezer, made the menu around stuff that is needing to be used up and the shopping list from there. I’ll play in the studio again this evening.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Can’t wait to see the end result with the camo valance and the cow face drapes! :cow:

Had to smile, remembering what pilling a cat was like. All of mine ended up more stressed after than before. At least they weren’t bloody like I was. I have used those pheromone diffusers-they were helpful and I definitely didn’t get bloodied up using them. We were trying to help a kitty chill when a new dog came into our house. My son used CBD oil to help his rescue dog relax during the move cross country and for some weeks afterwards. Glad to hear she is ok and doesn’t have an infection.

Another reasonable day. :face_with_raised_eyebrow: I fear the Anvil Gnomes are resting up for something.

I have to walk 2 miles. Uphill. both ways. In the snow. to get a good beer.

One time Alex Catt rolled over and showed me her belly. When I didn’t fall for it, she reach up, grabbed my hand with her paws and touched it to her belly, and then bit me because I dare touch her belly.

Cats, hope you and Tabitha feel better.

sari, hopefully Echo’s manic energy will burn off soon.

She’s still on FB. She just doesn’t Mump anymore.

Happy Birthday Mr. Taters!

Bizarre event in Sacramento: the sky is definitely a shade of blue.

Traffic has reached nearly pre-lockdown levels of both volume and stupid. The callers and front-line crew are also maintaining a consistent level of clue-resistance. There are muttered comments between calls, when my grumbles will not be picked up on recordings.

When medicating a cat, I tend to have better luck with liquids.

Nicely Done in calming colors, And Wow the changes you motored through are motivatin’!

You can add the CBD to a favorite treat, like a spoonful of the bestest gooshy food, or a bite of tuna.

Okay, you guys.
I’ve finally gone ahead & put the PlentyOfFish and Tinder apps onto my phone.
I deeply dislike dating; it feels so much like a job interview (which I loathe) but I’m tired of seeing interesting-looking guys come through my line at work, and either 1.) not being able to do anything about it, or 2.) their girlfriend is in the passenger seat.
Not that I’d be able to do anything about it, if she wasn’t there.

Anyway, maybe one of those interesting-looking guys without a passenger pigeon (HA!!) has perhaps created an online dating profile. Cuz they’re sure as hell not dropping out of the sky into my lap, and I’m not exactly dead yet over here.

Meanwhile, yesterday’s sirloin that didn’t get cooked will be tonight’s dinner, along with a pile of sauteed onions because that’s how I like my meat.
Plus an ear of corn, a.k.a. butter delivery vehicle.

Oh, and I made a batch of cupcakes yesterday - thanks to all the Mumpers talking about cake - with purple  sprinkles on top, and brought some in today to work. Surprisingly, two were still there at close, so I left 'em for tomorrow’s shift.
Hope I get my Tupperware back.

The evening cheeseburger has been consumed, some TV watched and e-mails sent. The heavy rain seems to be holding off, it’s near here but just doesn’t seem to be motivated to pour down rain here. Which is fine by me, soccer practices resume tomorrow.

Shoe, good luck with what I presume are dating apps. My courting days are well behind me now.

FCM, did you use the Sherwin Williams on-line site to compare how the colors looked? They are nice, I used a different green in my bathrooms, but it’s a nice color.

Take care all, off to bed soon.

I went to the Sherwin Williams site to check out FCMooommm’s mad decorator skillz. The kid did good-I approve. Especially liked the two shades of gray together. Jury is still out about the curtains until the fabric swatch is posted.

Boo

It’s only 21:45 here. Time to go out to the kitchen and scrape together something for supper. It will be humble. Probably breakfast for supper.

My experience with online dating wasn’t great. But it does work for a bunch of folks. Good luck1(worst case, he’s an idiot, and you feed him to Pretzel.)

My experience with online dating is … I worked at the HQ for one of the biggies (starts with “M” and rhymes with, uh, “Hatch”) for about three years.

Yeah, I have a profile there, too. I just never check it, because they want $ for people to connect or mssg each other … which is kinda the whole point, and I’m a cheap bastard, so I stick with the ones where you can get all the way from “ooh, me likey!” to “hey baby, what’s your sign?” to “okay, so, your place or mine?” for free. (Paraphrased heavily.)

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 77 and rainy(ish) for the day but not like yestiddy. There are flood warnin’s out for all the creeks through tomorrow. Folks who live along the creeks will not be happy. If the rain does hold off, mowage shall be accomplished this afternoon. If not, then mowage gets accomplished tomorrow. Other than that, no big plans for the day. Steak, sallit, and baked N.O.T. shall comprise sup. Oh and we’re doin’ some boiled peanuts (pronounced “bald peenots”) in a slow cooker. What? We like 'em.

red it was MetalMouse, not me, who wants to shave all his hair off.

MOOOOOOM we went with the light/dark gray combo in the livin’ room, dinin’ room and kitchen. Then the light gray for the rest of da cave. Very happy with the results! The first coat of the darker gray looked like duct tape to me. The second coat made it all better.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Daughter’s realtor loaned us a SW fan, so we had alllllllllll the colors in hand. I like the blues, but I kinda wish I’d gone with a green instead. Not a huge deal, since the blues are pretty - we just like greens better. I am looking forward to going from Woodrow Wilson Putty to the shades of gray. And the carpet will be in darker shades of gray - we learned our lesson about light carpet!

Got a bit of a scare this morning. I slept thru the night for the first time in forever, but I woke before my alarm so I decided to get up quietly and let FCD sleep in. When I stepped out of the bedroom, I heard water running! :open_mouth: Turns out he was already in the shower.

I’ve fetched Roxy and she’s having her PB&J toast and chocolate milk. Eric the carpenter is fixing the floor. Chris the painter will be along a bit later. Cats are locked in the bedroom. I should probably clean something, but for the moment, I’m caffeinating. Rainy day forecast.

Happy Thursday!!

Happy Thorsday!

Nice 52 degrees this morning. The sun is shining now but is supposed to get cloudy later with a high of 72. We went to the dog park, didn’t stay long though as everybody had stuff to do and we all left early. Echo did well, so happy to see everybody. I think she gets more excited over her people than the other dogs. Everybody checked her incision and all agree that it looks good.
Now she is sleeping, which is what I was hoping for.

I got a scare this morning too. It’s dark when we leave for the park. We were in the truck, and both dogs went to the back window and started growling. When Ripple does that low growl I get worried. The interior light was still on and I couldn’t see out, so I locked the doors and started the engine. Turned out to be a woman who walks her dog down the alley every morning.

I like those colors Moooom.

Dot and Red Kong toys didn’t go over so well with Ripple, so I got rid of them. I think the shorter snouts are not a good fit with Kongs. I may go out later today and see if I can find something Echo might like. She will lay around and chew on cow’s hooves, but she is very physical and wants to be active. She loses interest pretty quickly with toys.
At least she is settled and sleeping now. Instead of pacing and whining and wanting out every five minutes.

Dot, I swear some rescues make you think they don’t really want to find homes for the dogs. I’m also shocked at how much some of them charge. I get that they have expenses, but it’s cheaper to go to the shelter, and even sometimes a breeder.

I need to get busy around here. Always something to do.
