(Native) American Graffiti - A West Texas MMP

I’m familiar with Kroger’s 'cause that’s where Alton shops. He often films scenes right in the store.

Do they still do double coupons, and do people still speak of doing their Krogering?

Looks like where we’ll be, we’ll be in Harris Teeter and Food Lion territory, so it doesn’t really matter.

Whew … home from work, after stopping off at both Target and Safeway. I am very ready for the weekend.

Hugs and good thoughts being sent to those who need 'em. I hope Rosie’s knee is less swollen today. I’ve been taking alleve the past few days, as I had run out of relefen; we picked that 'script up earlier today, thank Og!

'nanner bread muffins are in the oven. Guest bed sheets are in the washer. I still haven’t quite gotten around to scrubbing the bathtub and toilet, but the comet is sprinkled… I’ll get it scrubbed.

Moon Over Parador is on one of the HBO channels at 9 tonight - I love that movie, so I’m going to watch. An excellent knitting opportunity.

I’ve got my car ready to go for tomorrow, except for the afghan, which I’m taking to show my mother. Not sure what else I’ll do tonight, since I’ll be home way before the family tomorrow. I’ll vacuum then. TGIF!

Woohoo for keeping busy. I got back from Pittsburgh on Monday, then on Tuesday I went to my great-grandmother’s 90th birthday party, Wednesday I had my Thermodynamics lecture, yesterday I spent the day spreading massive amounts of much onto my grandmother’s flowerbeds, and today I reconnected with an old friend long enough to reestablish contact and help him move the last few things from his old house into his new place.

In between, I’ve finally made myself a MySpace, which started out as just a place I could host unlimited photos for free and quickly became an experiment to see if I could teach myself enough CSS in four hours to create a custom layout. Turns out I can, and it looks quite snazzy; all my 'Con pics are uploaded, too, and I’ve been playing with the My Playlists feature to put together a kickass sampling of music I rock out to.

I have a ton of homework to do tomorrow - that’s what I get for missing two days of classes.

Well a friend just showed up at my door so I’m off. Later, all!

I started this post, got distracted by hulu, and then completely forgot what I was going to say. So I had to re-read. :smack:

Glad the knee is doing better, rosie.

Kroger is based in Cincinnati, so we have it here. There are Kroger stores in Michigan as well. I’m disloyal and almost always shop at Giant Eagle because it’s up the street.

Sounds like you’ve been having a good time, Moonie.

Judging by the emptiness of the bus this morning and the downtown parking lots in general, everyone is on vacation this week. Not me.

I’m tired and have been knitting along with the shows (Royal Pains, The Listener and an old episode of Bones that they just re-posted). Haven’t eaten yet, probably because I had a really major lunch (pizza and a Caesar salad at Boston’s).

I could use some chocolate though.

Off to beddie bye. I’m heading out early to watch the nephew play baseball.

Back in the morning if there’s time…

GT

Survived work.

Gld you had a good time, Moonie!

swampy, I read it as Kroger, too.

Yay, I survived work. I guess my body just decided it needed a bit more time from yesterday – and yes, my body, not my mind, I always have a case of the donwannas but if I went home every time that happened I’d never work.

yawn I think I may crawl in early with a book. Food is et and I am tired.

I’m here. Still crabby.

Rosie’s sig to everyone.

: sprinkles Old Bay on Pie :

 Uncrabby, yet, Pie?

Gotta get out into the garden for a few minutes, then off to nephew’s ball game.

Everyone have a nice Saturday!

GT

Were you, by any chance, staying at the Omni?

g On my previous drivers license from Maryland there was a little picture of a crab right next to my name. I loved that.

It’s been a crabby kind of week. I had one measly lunch to cater for 10 people. And then a free* party for 15 to cancel out any profits that I might have had. BTW, it’s a free party because of my incentive credits that my clients earn when they do business with me.
*Ok, so it’s not totally free because I have a $100 limit on free food and they are spending a little bit more than that. But not enough, even, to cover the cost of the ingredients for their whole meal.

Swampy, a friend of mine just got an iPhone last weekend and something wasn’t working right when she got it. I was thinking of you as I pictured her giving someone a piece of her mind. :stuck_out_tongue:

Howdy Y’all! It’s the weekstart! YAAAAAAAAAAY!!!

What? My days off are the first two in the week, so instead of weekend, I have weekstart. I shall spend it in mostly sloth mode. Da yahd needs a haircut so that will have to happen.

Ol’ y’all know who is headin’ out tomorrow for a weeklong bidness thang in Nashville, TN. YEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAW! He’s drivin’ and dreadin’ the drive already, poor thing. Bein’ as I’m so super nice and sweet, I did map him out a route with mapquest that keeps him on interstate. I’m so wonderful!

CutiePie neither Apple or ATT store employees know how to program an iphone, apparently. There’s always sump’n not right. I’ll guess your friend couldn’t access the web cause a data plan was not added. Happens all the time.

Dindin tonight shall be smoked poke chops bought at the burly butcher store and thrown on the grill to heat up, left over company smashed N.O.T., green beans and just cause I want some, pepper jack cheese toast. NUM! Gonna get that started in a bit cause I’s hongry!

Yays, boos, hugs, trouts, chitlins, noogies, how you doin’s all around.

WHEW!!! Home at last.

I left about 6:40 to go to my mom’s and I got there a bit before 9. I helped her cut up the wall and roof panels from her now-destroyed shed, plus I cut up some assorted wood pieces. It’s all stacked up to be loaded into the truck for a trip to the dump. We’d have loaded the truck, but my BIL was using it to fetch lumber for the new shed foundation. It wasn’t hard work, but it was time consuming and dirty. Afterwards she took me to lunch where I had a yummerrific seafood pita.

On the way home, I stopped at Clayworks and bought 50# of clay and 4 underglazes. Then I stopped for gas, and a final stop near home at the grocery store for ingredients for the french toast casserole. In a little bit, I’m going to finish cleaning up for my nephew, then I’ll run the vacuum and build breakfast. I also think I’ll yank a chicken out of the freezer to be rotissed tomorrow.

I also think I’ll try to shower before they get here. But I’ve only got about 2 hours, so I better get in gear. ** STOP DISTRACTING ME!!! :p**

What’d I do, FCM??? I just got here!

We had a busy day! So you know the new-to-me car we got for me in December? It has keyless remote start. So the other day, it started this message “no key found” even though the remote was in my pocket. We only got one remote when we bought the car. So we decided it was time to get a backup keyless remote, and check out if the battery was going bad in the one we had. Turns out yes - so we have two new remotes, one of which was under warranty. Thank Og - cause it was —$169!!! Technology shore is expensive. While the car was in the shop getting re-programmed, they called and said there was a recall on the passenger airbag, so we got that fixed too, free of course.

So after dropping off the car, we had an awesome breakfast at 59 Diner, and garage saled a bit. Stopped and got some vitamins that might gelp my diabetic foot pain, and went to the grocery store and got stuff for burgers. Back home - I threw a load of laundry in the dryer, and ate some leftover chicken pot pie for lunch.

Back to pick up the car, and went to the bar for some refreshments!

I’m home now, and about to make patties for dindin.

Whew!
(Rosie’s sig to everyone!)

I’s full and tahred! I decided I’d go ahead and mow da front yahd, cause that’s the part that’s a shame for the neighbors to see when it’s all shabby. Now I’m all showered and feel like I could go to sleep. Well, after some “appreciation” that is.

I have a picture of a stuffed bear in my head … Seriously, Swampy, you eat way too good!

FCM, aren’t your people on their way home?! Sounds like you have a productive day today.

{{{{{{CutiePie}}}}}}, sorry you’ve been crabby–sending good vibes your way. Hope that SpecialOne is having a relaxing weekend for a change and not having to work. I forgot to comment about that resort complex that Dotty and family were going to spend a few days at - WOW! I think Soapy is on vacation. Huh, was Moonie at that Furry con in Pittsburgh?! LOL

Dinner tonight is courtesy of the good Chinese place - combination lo mein for me. And it just arrived. So let me go stuff my face (LOL). Hope everyone is having a great weekend … or week start.

OK, guest bed made and room sorta-tidy. Guest bathroom scoured and clean towels hanging. French toast casserole in the fridge. Carpet vacuumed. Dishwasher running.

I just talked to **FCD **- they’re about half an hour out - should be here shortly after 8. Yay.

I should shower, but I’m just too tired… And I may have to feed nephew - I think I can manage a sammich and some cucumber salad. Or a bowl of froot loops. Either way.

Oh, and I had to close up the house and turn on the air because it was really humid - like 72%. I hope I can reopen everything when we go to bed. Methinks tomorrow will be a lazy day.
