Yea Every year Midwest Old Settlers and Threashers Reunion. Don’t know the real numbers but sonething like 20 or 30 thousand a day for the Labor Day Holiday. It was a Steam Engine Show but through the years it has also become a traveling tent show revival sort of thing. Neal and Caroline Shaffner retired here. They were “Toby and Suzy”. They Had a traveling show where they put on plays in a tent .Sort of a spin off of the old west traveling shows. Any old thespians out there?
Sorry that it took so long for me to discover this thread! I even got an email from Chris about it, but I rarely check that email address, so I just read it yesterday.
I have very weird hours, and weird days off. So it might be a bitch to get a Sat. or Sunday off. But, with enough advanced notice, I could try. And I think I am more than 3 hours away from Omaha. Even though I am currently living in the Midwest, I admit, I have put very little time into finding out how far away things are. (For instance, like other Midwestern cities.) I just save all my travel time (and budget) up to go back to CA as much as possible. (Going in a week back to LA, actually.)
Which does not mean that I don’t want to participate in a Straight Dope Fest! I’d LOVE to - you people all seem quite fabulous. And yes, I am a vegetarian. (It came up earlier.)

The weather is getting nicer around here guys, so maybe we can really start to plan something here.
I thought ChrisCTP said that we were going to do a Des Moines get together on April 29th, I thought. (I don’t have a calendar so I think the 29th sounds right).
