New Show: Lucifer

My personal guess is that there’s something special about Chloe, rather than him being mortal. I’m wondering if she is one of the Nephilim and can harm Angels and Demons.

Maybe her daughter is the special one?

Yeah, all those hugs that she has given Lucifer have weakened him, somehow.

Enjoyed the episode tonight, and especially the revelation (no pun intended) at the end. Much as I could watch Tom Ellis as Lucifer for as long as he wants to keep it up, the last couple of stories were getting a little lifeless. This one’s perked things back up again, though. I’m very curious to find out who’s stolen his “property” and how he intends to get it back.

I started reading the first graphic novel a couple weeks ago, and it includes his efforts to regain his wings, so it was nice to see a little parallel from the show (even though the circumstances are probably not the same).

“Sinnerman” was a cool open to the episode.

And her scary face is lots scarier than Lucifer’s.

The last time that I posted to this thread, I was somewhat disappointed in this show and said I felt it had a limited potential.

Well, I’ve changed my mind about that.

I think this show has definitely and sharply improved. IMHO, the lastest episode was most excellent and I’m looking for even better things to come in the future.

So many of the plot developments tonight were really interesting, I’m very much looking forward to what happens next.

It was interesting to see the normally confident Lucifer lose his cool in front of the horny therapist. He usually prides himself at being at the advantage of others with his ability to draw out their inner desires, but his biggest insecurity is the loss of his wings. Normally, the Prince of Hell would be thought of as a conniver and manipulator, but Lucifer rarely shows that side. He would rather rattle people by surprise and take advantage of their loss of control. Amandiel turned out to be the true manipulating bastard, and he’s supposed to be a force for good.

I agree.

I was starting to get a little bored with the show too, but the loss of his wings is a great plot development and opens up a lot of new possibilities.

If he’s really that worried about wings, he ought to just go get a Red Bull. That’ll fix him right up.

Or some Maxi Pads.

Am I misremembering that in the first episode, the black angel had fully retractable wings? He looked like a normal guy for the first few minutes, and then when he left (upward), he had like a 12-foot wingspan.

So if they’re retractable, why do you have to tear them out with bloody chunks of flesh clinging to them for convenient storage?

I don’t think that Lucifer ‘had’ to physically remove his wings; the impression I get from what we’ve seen so far is that he had Maze do it as a sign of his rejection of God.

I think you’re likely correct; it would have been incredibly painful, but Maze has shown herself to (generally) obey Lucifer. Though she will take the iniative to do what she feels is right for him, whether he would agree with her methods or not.

I’m enjoying this adaptation of Lucifer. I hope it gets a full season.

Never knew angel wings were so flammable. If they are that flammable wouldn’t some damned soul in Hell have burned them by now? Or are they only vulnerable to Lucifer, or can he just “will” them to be flammable?

Is Lucifer’s bashed up face a sign that he’s mortal and not just with Chloe? Or can Angels damage other Angels just fine? I still don’t recall seeing any other person hurting him other than her and now his brother.

I think angels can beat up other angels just fine.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they were the fake wings…the ones so good only the owner would know they weren’t the real deal.

I’m interested in that single feather Maze had at the end. Is she planning to grow a new set from it, I wonder…
