The fucking Pennsylvania Senate Republicans are apparently holding a hearing tomorrow (no, today, now) in Gettysburg about “election issues and irregularities.” Giuliani, at least, is expected to appear either in person or remotely, and there are reports on Twitter from Jake Tapper that Trump may join him. No confirmation on the latter.
Several of the Republicans on the “committee” are among those who demanded the Democratic Pennsylvania secretary of state resign.
With everything that is going on, I just want to remind people that the Republican party continues to attempt to erode the rights of the LGBTQ+ community.
Let me introduce Curtis Hill, the Republican AG of Indiana. He now owes about $19,000 in fees for the disciplinary case against him when he groped multiple women at a party without their consent. Cite. That also led to the suspension of his law license for a whole 30 days.
He also had Indiana join in (fruitlessly and without evidence) challenging the election in Pennsylvania.
And now he’s asking the newly Republican packed Supreme Court to reconsider and possibly overturn Obergefell (the Supreme Court case recognizing same sex marriage) and Pavan (about listing same sex parents on birth certificates) in Box v. Henderson. The state of Indiana, in their anti-homosexual frenzy, require that birth certificates do not list same sex parents, but rather the mother and whatever biological father. Now Hill, and the rest of the Republicans, want the Supreme Court to bless their bigotry once again.
