Well, seeing’s how the chair of the Arizona GOP is Kelli Ward, the Southwest’s answer to Michelle Bachman, I can’t say I’m surprised. Besides, she already tried to vulture off of McCain’s not-yet corpse.* When Andy Biggs inevitably climbs on board the thing, I’m going to enjoy clubbing him over the head with that fact in 2022.
*In July 2017, after McCain was diagnosed with brain cancer, Ward said that she hoped that McCain would resign as quickly as possible.[24] Ward said in a radio interview, “I hope that Senator McCain is going to look long and hard at this, that his family and his advisers are going to look at this, and they’re going to advise him to step away as quickly as possible. So that the business of the country and the business of Arizona being represented at the federal level can move forward… We can’t have until the 2018 election, waiting around to accomplish the Trump agenda, to secure the border and stop illegal immigration and repeal Obamacare and fix the economy and fix the veterans administration, all those things need to be done and we can’t be at a standstill while we wait for John McCain to determine what he’s going to do.”[24] Ward said that she hoped that Arizona’s governor would consider appointing her to fill McCain’s seat.[25]
The Republican Party, at their winter convention, makes no mention of Individual 1’s connection to the treason at the Capitol building, and still endorse him as the leader of their Party.
Fox News is really unhappy with folks being booted off of twitter and not having a platform for parler.
I just stopped by that channel for a couple of minutes and heard some guy complaining about the double standard at twitter because “hang mike pence” is trending.
How on earth he thinks that shows a double standard has me just fucking dumb founded. The fact that people are talking about people chanting that at the fucking seditious riot is not the same as people telling you to go hang mike pence. Fucking Hell these people.
AUSTIN — As the country’s political polarization reaches a boiling point — graphically illustrated by the storming of the U.S. Capitol — state Republicans are seeking to make some of the nation’s strictest voting laws even stricter.
They say the unrest sparked by Wednesday’s events in Washington is likely to invigorate discussions over the matter in the Legislature, where the 2021 session will begin Tuesday.
Several election-related bills have been filed by lawmakers on both sides of the aisle — though their aims are in direct opposition, with Democrats looking to ease laws they see as suppressing the vote and Republicans trying to curb the opportunities for the fraud they claim plagued the 2020 election.
…
Republican bills include measures to tighten mail voting restrictions and stop governors from changing election laws during disasters, two concerns President Donald Trump raised in his election challenges.
Leading Texas Republicans such as Attorney General Ken Paxton have warned of mass voter fraud for years but have not produced any evidence of the phenomenon.
Paxton’s election integrity unit resolved just 16 minor prosecutions in 2020 despite spending nearly twice as much time on voter fraud cases as in 2018. All of those cases involved voters using false addresses on registration forms.
State Sen. Paul Bettencourt, R-Houston, filed legislation that would codify a Texas Supreme Court decision that blocked Harris County from sending mail ballot applications to every registered voter in the county ahead of the November election. Texas is one of 16 states that requires a voter to have an excuse to vote by mail.
Bettencourt said Harris County’s move to mail out the applications “would have certainly caused more voter confusion” because most recipients would not have been eligible for an absentee ballot.
The state Supreme Court ruled last year that voters’ lack of immunity to the coronavirus alone didn’t qualify as a disability that made them eligible to vote by mail, but could be one of several factors a voter may consider.
…
Mitch and Donnie both said it: if it were easy to vote-- that means "if it were easy for eligible voters to vote-- no Republican would ever get elected. Gotta fix that!
“Hey champ, did you commit treason on Wednesday and you’re pretty sure
none of the cameras caught your face and you didn’t post to social media
like the other idiots? Well, I’ve got bad news for you. As a network
administrator, I’m gonna tell you about a couple technologies that
probably tracked your presence…”
A group of Trump supporters get rowdy during a flight. The pilot pulls an Ultimate Dad Move and threatens to “pull this plane over right now if you kids don’t settle down, I swear!” *
I saw some MAGAtard being interviewed on TV after being stranded in some city far from both Washington DC and her hometown.
I forget where she she lived, but she was denied boarding on her connecting flight because of her behavior on the first leg of her flight.
“They won’t let me travel because they said I disobeyed the flight attendants instruction”. “They are violating my free speech rights. All we were doing was singing”.
Ok, so her and her buddies insisted on singing Trump ditties at the top of the lungs on their flight, annoying the crap out of everyone else - and they wonder why they got kicked off? I wonder how many of these rubes have ever been on a plane before? I’ve seen people get kicked off planes for much less than that.
I’ve seen people kicked off for not changing their seat in accordance with the flight attendant instruction after they were asked twice. I’ve seen it twice. In both cases the flight crews had to rearrange a little bit to accommodate the needs of specific passengers and the people objected to being denied their seat.
The flight attendant tells them to move. They raise their objection. The flight attendant tells them they aren’t guaranteed a specific seat. They object again. The pilot comes out and tells them they’re off the flight. They immediately become apologetic but it’s too late, and the pilot tells them that passengers that will not obey a flight attendant instructions is a safety risk.
Except no Biden supporter would be stupid and self-absorbed enough to do this. And no Trump supporter would be smart enough to false-flag it with “Biden.”
Some of the comments say that it’s just algae growing on the manatee’s skin that’s been scraped away. This confirms that manatees often have a layer of algae.
2. Did you know they’re living chia pets?
Ever heard of the expression ‘a rolling stone gathers no moss’? Well, Manatees aren’t stones, nor are they sprouting chia, and they certainly aren’t pets, but they do grow algae all over their bodies (making them resemble those bizarre grassy pets you were gifted as a child). Because manatees move slowly and spend a lot of time in the warmer water at the surface, algae starts to cover their skin as they age. It’s a win-win situation for both the algae and the manatee’s skin.
I can’t imagine a manatee staying still if it was being carved.
Still pretty fucked up.
Facebook sucks. Facebook is a private company, and they can lock or ban whatever accounts they want, but I think that they owe it to their members, who are the reason for their profitability, to give reasons and be transparent about the system they use. Paul is not the only Facebook member to have his account locked with no reason and no warning given by Facebook, and it’s happened to people of various political persuasions.
