NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 2)

Ran into Maganut by the library. He mentioned Brazil, something about rigged election, he drew huge crowds. I felt like I was talking to Alex Jones, only quieter.
Also, theres lots of Nazis in Ukraine.

The head of the Russian Orthodox Church said that God is using Russia to destroy the demons in Ukraine.

The Russians have really been upping the ante lately.

First, they were battling Nazis. Then it morphed into Satanists. Now, they’ve gone full blown Demon. I wonder what’s next in the lineup?

Well, now DeSantis is claiming that God sent him. I’m confused. Didn’t God send Individual 1?

Eww, I’m an Atheist, and that offends me. What a puffed up loon. :face_vomiting:

Who said anything about “willing”? They get it whether they want it or not. Even if they’ve already had it!

Then they get a free iPhone and a Tesla, paid for with your tax dollars.

That could catch on; it has the virtues of being both succinct and accurate.

Just utterly, utterly revolting.

I’ve seen some people pointing out that this particular degree of ego-mania is, in all likelihood, diagnosable as a recognized personality disorder.

As punishment, possibly. What did you guys do?

How much time ya got?

Tim Dorsey is a reporter, not an fabulist.

Does this mean that that cornball Jesus/Trump painter guy now must paint DeSantis pieces (of shit)?

American?

I understand this reference.

Trumpitis?

No. No they don’t.

That is correct. They just believe what they are told and repeat the talking points presented.

No independent thought or agency remains, just hatred and cruelty.

For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
– H.L. Mencken

Fox News gives them that answer; why they look for another?

For the record, here’s the actual Mencken quote, per Quote Investigator:

There is always a well-known solution to every human problem—neat, plausible, and wrong.

(This is one of those rare instances where a popularly cited quotation is more or less accurate and correctly attributed.)

Do we have an ID as to the origin of that narration? It sounds like it was coming out of a poor quality microphone. Like it was given as part of a speech or maybe radio broadcast somewhere, rather then produced in a sound studio for this specific ad. But maybe that is just what they are trying to make people think.

ETA: Never mind, I found a cite pointing out that it was trying to evoke Paul Harvey’s “God created a farmer” an equally glurgish bit of pablum, although a bit less blasphemously self-agrandizing since it refers to a class of people rather than an individual.
