Well, that would be because every sperm is sacred, and killing a man amounts to killing unconceived babies, which are a lot like unborn babies. The twinkle in the to-maybe-be-a-father’s eye must be protected, so that those potential babies get a shot at being born.
The eggs are kind of important too. We should probably not be killing women either – except when they trick men into sinning.
A few years ago, a poster, I forget who, started a contest of sorts on these boards for a great term for what is essentially “Fundamentalist Pornograhy”, or the kinds of stuff described in the last hundred-ish posts. I remember coining the term fornography. Have you ever watched some of those so-called preachers when they’re reading from the gory parts of the Old Testament? They’re flapping around in an orgiastic frenzy. That’s why they’re into it. It’s religious addiction.
Wisconsin Republicans paid $676,000 to a former judge to provide them with evidence to overturn the 2020 election in Wisconsin. He just spent three hours testifying before the state legislature that they have the power to overturn the election. He admits that he voted for Individual 1, and he did say after the election that it had been stolen, but despite all of the money and the seven months he’s spent on the investigation, and despite his conclusion that the legislature has the power to decertify the election, he admits that he has no evidence of any wrongdoing. He also couldn’t explain why down ballot Republicans won their elections on the same ballot.
Some Seals have objected to Covid vaxes on “religious” grounds. Notorious 5th Circuit judge orders in their favor: Navy must not only allow them to serve, unvaxed, but the judge orders that he himself (or another judge in the 5th circuit?) will unilaterally dictate what their exact assignments will be. (Presumably to protect them from religious discrimination or retribution, as far as I can figure.)
So fuck that Commander-in-Chief guy, fuck the Admirals who know better who should be assigned to what and where, and fuck the whole Chain of Command.
Now I wonder: If this judge gives specific orders, and Biden defies the judge, giving different orders (presumably ordering the Navy brass to continue assigning these Seals as they see fit, as they would have been doing anyway) – whose orders will they follow? Whose orders should they follow? The article doesn’t raise these questions.
I would hope I would do the research and once I discovered the place didn’t have a basement, question my belief.
Makes the Buddhist “middle path” much more reasonable.
I have said before that those types not only believe they’ll go to heaven, they’ll be awarded ringside seats at the edge of the pit so they can watch the rest of us.
Well, yes, that’s why you, and I, and really, any sensible person doesn’t believe it.
But don’t fight the hypothetical too much. It’s about putting yourself in the mindset of someone who could believe such things. Like, maybe you just suffered massive head trauma, and are now exactly as rational and competent as a typical Qanaonite.
“This website says it doesn’t have a basement; my god, they’ve even gotten to the internet, those bastards!”
Obviously, when you have a sex dungeon in the basement of a pizzeria (as one does), it is a secret basement. The entrance is through the walk-in freezer, inside the oven or possibly even the business next door.
Should be fine as long as the pilots and/or planes wear false mustaches. And if Russia comes around to ask if we did it, we could pretend not to be home.
