Usually when they offer this sort of proclamation, there is some sort of fig leaf of an explanation as to why the funds were turned down, too many strings attached, sets a bad precedent, something . Here there are crickets. When asked why they were doing this, they said the letter (which offers no explanation) speaks for itself and refused to comment. Looking on the website of the Tennesee department of health there no mention at all of this decision.
My conclusion is that this was handed down to them from on high (probably by the governor who incidentally is heavily promoting the worship service associated with his inaguration on governement websites, separation for church and state be damned) for the sole purpose of killing teh gayz. The people tasked with putting the blatant evil bigotry behind the decision in indefensible so they aren’t even going to try.

Carlson has been singing the praises of the tobacco industry for a while, now. A particularly strong effort preceded the Congressional Republicans changing the rules to permit smoking in the Capital, by mere hours.

A migrant was shot this week by a Texas National Guard member as the soldier patrolled along U.S.-Mexico border, according to state and federal law enforcement officials.
The incident occurred at about 4:12 a.m. Monday in Abram, Texas, according to Rod Kise, spokesman for U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The small town of about 2,000 people is located along Rio Grande in a region known as the Rio Grande Valley.
