I feel compelled to push back on this one. How is it stupid? He’s being completely forthright about his swinging and not condemning others’ behavior. It’s not like he’s kowtowing to the Christian vote (at least, not according to this article).
Based on what I read here, I’d totally vote for the guy … if he wasn’t a Republican.

I’m with you on this one - as long as he’s not out there condemning other people for doing what he did, the fact that his marriage used to be open is a non-issue. Tbh, it’s a surprise he’s not being openly hypocritical, given the entire rest of the party he belongs to.
My read is that he is espousing Libertarian viewpoints. And I have found that many Libertarians find a home in the GOP.
Just wait until it starts happening here in the US.
I’m sure there are plenty of people following this very closely.

Luckily, at least some of those people are those in other cities who would be responsible for dealing with their local versions of these shit heads. Other places like Toronto, Quebec City and Vancouver responded much better, based in large part on seeing exactly how Ottawa screwed it all up.
OTOH, if he were running as a Democrat it’s 100% certain his GOP opponent would be wailing nonstop about his open marriage as evidence of Satan worship, socialism, CRT and all things repellent to decent, God-fearing true Americans. But IOKIARLWS.

“Honk if your diaper is full”
“Honk if you can’t understand basic science”
“Honk if you hate nurses”
There’s a couple of videos going around of convoyers getting arrested in Ottawa, and they’re hilarious. One has a guy in a truck trying to drive away in the middle of a traffic stop, so the cops use their vehicles to box him in, which of course results in a minor collision.
The idiot videoing it all start screaming about how “he didn’t do anything wrong!” and how it’s the cops’ fault that he hit them. Just utterly clueless. It’s like they’ve never in their lives seen how police operate. You try to run from a traffic stop, you’re going to have a bad day, at best.
But they have FREEDUMB to do anything they want with no consequences, don’tcha know. This is what they are fighting for; The ability to harm others in society with no consequences for their actions.
Dude seems perfectly consistent in that. “Traffic laws? Nope, not for me. I don’t wanna and you can’t make me.”
I find myself wondering if any of them are going to snap out of this mindset when reality finally smacks them in the face. For a lot of them, I fear the answer will be “no”.
Here’s one good example of just that:
This guy does a job at the request of one of the convoy “leaders”, and then gets harassed and threatened by the pro-convoy mob for doing that job, and yet, he still supports them, and hasn’t quite clued in that these are not nice people he’s dealing with.
