NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 2)

I recall that, in the first GOP debate preceding the 2016 primaries, Trump was the only one who would not commit to supporting the eventual candidate. He did later sign a pledge to do so.

Just to be clear, Gohmert wasn’t actually serious. Instead he was claiming that climate change was caused by solar flares, and variations in the earth and moons orbit. So that unless they could change the orbits of the moon we shouldn’t bother trying to do anything about it. So stupid, but not quite that stupid.

The term Stupid Republican is a double negative.

FWIW

The Chinese Falun Gong group (some say cult) is a dissident group and anti-CCP. They incorporate tai chi exercises into their practices and philosophy. They are also ardently pro-Trump, their official media outlet is The Epoch Times, and the English language version is one of the biggest pro-Trump propaganda outlets around.

Cults love Trump.

He truly does have the merde touch.

For what it is worth, I am getting a lot out of the classes. I’m never going to be able to tai-chi someone into submission, but I use my cane for that anyhow.

The instructor always provides tea and healthy snacks afterwards but I don’t partake because I don’t really want to hear what they are saying.

Ken Paxton wants an Individual 1-appointed judge to declare the law that would keep the government running until September unconstitutional.

I’ve seen links to Epoch before and knew they were a bunch of nutjobs, but I didn’t know about the Falun Gong connection. Thanks for the info.

Well, it would drag the rest of the country down to the level of Texas.

They are also responsible for the Shen Yun performers you may well have seen advertised.

It’s just a variation on “I won’t accept the result of the election unless I win.”

“I won’t pledge to support the nominee unless it’s me.”

“I didn’t break my word, I broke their pledge!

Come on, in a world where people bent over backwards to defend the “fine people” comment, you know a lot of them would buy this argument.

I think they forgot that the whole ‘no repercussions’ thing works both ways. That is, he can get away with a lot of crap because he knows (or assumes) the left won’t actually do anything about it. However, the right has spent all this time spoiling him and he will happily walk all over them because they let him.
They don’t seem to understand that they handed him so much power (and/or lack of repercussions when he abused it) that he can use it against them now.

It’s the exact same thing that’s happening with DeSantis. If his own state allows him to create/expand a statewide Florida Guard, they don’t get to complain when they’re being dragged out of their houses on his orders.

IIRC, the Unification Church of (the late) Reverend Sun Myung Moon operates the MoonieWashington Times thingie, which is deep into RW territory.

From the linked article:

Why does Texas hate the military?

Don’t forget, this is the same guy filed a lawsuit because he didn’t like the way Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin ran their elections. I think his grasp on what the Constitution says is tenuous.

Well, it is the American military.

The 'pub voter won’t have the slightest problem seeing their darker-skinned neighbour being the ones getting dragged out of their houses on RD’s orders.

But what will he say when they come for him? What will they do when Ron’s seizing their house by eminent domain for a vaguely named “Upcoming Public Works Project”?

I’m just saying the 'pub voter has no right to complain when the cheetahs start eating their faces too.

First they came for the SJWs, and I did not speak out…

I’m saying that under RD’s watch, he’ll see it to that right ones will never get kicked out into the streets.
