NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 2)

TBF his mockery of how the other Repubs use “woke” w/o knowing what it means is well earned.

The example of taking a team of male star athletes and having them declare themselves female and having them then become the greatest team, and that this would also be called “woke”, well that’s the sort of surrealism that will make a whole lot of the audience later sit down and go “wait… what??”

I think the worst part of this screed is that he thinks World-class athletes would change gender and make him the winningest coach of all time to please him.

But can he define covfefe?

So, what I’m reading is that he’s cool with trans female basketball players, presumably in the WNBA (since I’m not sure what advantage he expects if they ‘become a woman’ and still play in the men’s league).

Also, regarding the definition of ‘woke’, I wish everyone would stop saying that they can’t define it and call it what it is, they ‘won’t’ define it. They CAN define it, they just don’t want to be on record as being against, what boils down to, being slightly less of an asshole to other people. If they allowed the media to have soundbites of them defining woke AND being against it, they won’t have anything left for the dog whistles.
Every politician that comes out against it, and this should go for anything similar, should be pressed to define exactly what it is they’re coming out against.

That reminds me of something unrelated, but I wish it was something we did more of. A few years ago I remember hearing someone say that during election season, we shouldn’t be asking candidates if they “believe in climate change” but rather if they “understand climate change” which, IMO, makes a lot of sense.

The problem is, with people like the Trumpers, they think they do “understand” all these issues. They have a simplistic answer to a complicated question, and that’s enough for them.

My take is that after the “wait…what??” the voters will look at one another and say “OK, let’s agree that he said someting about trans athletes and woke and that he doesn’t like it, and not hurt ourselves trying to figure it out.”

The Kansas House GOP leader wouldn’t define it, but he told us where to find the definition:

Hawkins refused to define woke ideology.
“You don’t know what woke ideology is?” Hawkins said when asked to explain the term. “Go and Google it.”

No use asking them to define “woke”: It means whatever the EEEEEVIL libtards want to do to destroy America, which is [consults talking points for this week] [fill in the blank].

I think this week it’s bags with rainbows at Target.

They said its trans clothes for toddlers. Don’t ask.

So tiny overalls for a girl, a christening robe for a boy? Putting blue on a female, pink on a male? That’s trans indoctrination?

Ah, the old CT gambit when asked for a citation. “I’m not going to do your research for you.”

I wonder if you might get better results by asking what Ron Desantis means by, “Woke?”

Not really, the answer you would get would be just as dismissive. If he doesn’t want to state his issue clearly, you can’t really make him.

It’s dog foghorns (They are well past whistling by now) all the way down.

Considering how alarming they find it all, more like dog air raid sirens.

As long as it doesn’t proceed to actual air raids.

I think it was bathing bottoms that advertised one can “tuck.” I am not making this up.

That’s last week. This week it’s the discovery that Chick-Fil-A has a DEI Officer. So CFA is now getting it from both sides, for being simultaneously homophobic and woke.

One poor soul made a Tik-Tok video complaining that CFA used to be “the Lord’s chicken”, which is hilarious no matter how you look at it. She was planning on stomping off to Raising Cane’s instead, although she may be disappointed…

That shouldn’t surprise you, the GOP has been taken over by conspiracy theories. It’s central to their identity now, with all the baggage that entails.

In Before: ‘Their name celebrates the first murder in the Bible! It’s the chicken of SATAN!!!1111!!!’
