NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 2)

You don’t want a kid to be working with their slide rule alone, in their room, for hours…

I hope this doesn’t go off on a tangent.

But if they’re not alone, it might lead them to co-sin!

They’re just trying to protect the little ones from the Demonrat paedophiles who are secant them out.

They are just doing the angles work.

Considering it’s a Republican-generated moral panic, it should seem more than a bit… hyperbolic.

Except that we seem to keep going round and round.

…on parallel tracks that may or may never meet.

You mean their slip stick.

Ron DeSatanis wants to punish Twitter for not selling to Elon Musk.

Of course, that flies right in the face of their professed love of freedom and large corporations.

Ah, you beat me to it.

(Quoting DeSantis)

The answer is: 1) they didn’t “breach their fiduciary duty”, they just refused to sell to a rich guy who wanted to make it his personal playground; 2) I believe Twitter is incorporated in Delaware so Florida as a state can do fuck-all; 3) Florida as a shareholder can try what they like but even with nearly a million shares they’re not big enough to dictate terms; and 4) Florida may want to consider what fucking around for nonsensical partisan political purposes with a block of shares that are part of their pension fund might cause to happen to the value of said fund if they make things more toxic and chaotic at Twitter board level.

You are way, way, way more steps ahead in the thought process than the Gov.

Ron DeSantis has never found a culture war he doesn’t want to jump into with both feet, on the wrong side.

He’s mad at Disney and Twitter. That’s the Governor and his priorities. God Damn I’m glad my state doesn’t have a knucklefuck like him at the helm.

He was also among the first governors to start directly causing the death of old people and immunocompromised people from the coronavirus pandemic by doing fuck-all with mask mandates and vaccine assistance. I truly fear for my Dad and her boyfriend, living in that godawful state.

Ted Cruz said that he thinks that Disney is opposed to the Don’t Say Gay law because they’re planning on making hard core p*rn.

Texans elect that guy. In Texas, the majority of voters LIKE that guy.

Back to Florida Math (not to be confused, you know, with Math):

It’s all this and so much more! On Monday, they released the list of banned math textbooks. Dana Milbank of Washington Post reviewed one, Precalculus With Limits, and was mortified by the atrocities he found there!

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/04/19/florida-math-textbooks-critical-race-theory/

It’s all there! Radicals. Regression. Eccentricity. Latus rectum. Plotting points for translating the parent function. Classifying by discriminant.

Who knew math was so subversive? Well, it’s good to know that kids in Floridland won’t be learning that subject any more!

I cosine your outrage!
