NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 2)

Not only does readily available contraception reduce the need for abortions (so you’d think they’d be all for it), but their own mistresses need it. If the reason to NOT ban it isn’t “fewer abortions -yeah!” then how about enlightened self-interest?

Republicans is sooo stupid.

Texas’s Attorney General admits that the state bar association plans to sue him over his lies about the 2020 election.

The cruelty is the point.

And that explains why there are candidates for office who have been accused of varying levels of cruelty, from groping to domestic abuse.

This brings into focus the idea that I always come back to - the Right wants “Religious Freedom” and “States Rights”. I say, “Okay, the Religious Freedom to do what, exactly? The States Rights to do what, exactly?” And the answer always boils down to the same thing, the “do what, exactly” is always the same - treat some other human beings cruelly.

So, it is no glib snarky statement to say that cruelty is the point.

Heading up today’s Top 10 in hypocrisy:

As I like to respond to such nonsense, “You first!”

I think Ginni Thomas is the leaker and that this was just another “troll the libs” opportunity.

A former Individual 1 staffer is running for Congress on a platform of “my company provided tear gas to police to gas protesters”.

Isn’t “pacem” Latin for “peace”? Just the name for a company that sells tear gas.

Well, CS/CN gas is a chemical weapon prohibited by the Geneva Conventions. At least, prohibited from use on the battlefield. Police are sometimes called “Peace Officers”: the Conventions allow them to use it, because they are (theoretically) not prosecuting war. Except for the “War on Terror!” And Drugs! And …

Y’all might remember that I created a rude email address to use for responding to all those shove polls (much stronger than a push poll) Donnie and the Rs send out. Today amongst all the “T**** thinks you’re special – send us money” pleas I had to that address an email from a Gmail account purporting to be Home Depot and wanting send me a $100 gift card for merely filling out a brief survey.

I’m guessing the reds are selling sucker’s lists to all comers.

No question about it! But you don’t sell those lists, you RENT them. One time use for the renter. More lucrative that way.

I used to do direct mail fundraising for non-profits.

Like the people that lie to the people they contact won’t lie to the people they “rent” the list from.

Well… Rep. Dennis Hastert, Roy Moore, Sen. Gym Jones, and Rep Matt Gaetz…
they all have a ‘Hungry, Hungry Heart’… :face_vomiting: :face_vomiting: :face_vomiting:

I’m sorry… call me dense, but I couldn’t unravel that sentence…

I think he means that the people involved wouldn’t be above copying a rented list and using it as many times they liked.

… and the War on Gays! And the War on Trans/Groomers! And the War on Voters! And the War on Disney! And the War on Pregnant Women who would prefer to Not Be Pregnant Women!

The warriors are sure spreading themselves awfully thin these days.

Well, sure, any missile can hit the ground. It’s just not what it was designed for.

What, you think these laws actually apply to them?

See, if your mistress cannot use contraceptives and ends up getting pregnant, you arrange for her to get an illegal abortion and keep the receipt (which is written such that it can in no way connect you to her or her illegal abortion) so that you have something you can hold over her head in case she gets any crazy ideas about snitching on you.

See how well criminalizing abortion can work out for you?
