NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 3)

You’d think a guy who allegedly works with law enforcement would realize they in theory have body cameras.

My favorite bit: “In addition, any lawmaker attempting to use his or her elected position to threaten anyone or skirt the law is completely unacceptable,” Lefor said in a statement.

Yes, no real Republican would do such a thing!

And yet, homophobia, racism and drunk driving are perfectly acceptable.

Boebert realizes that she can’t be re-elected, so she’s gonna move to a safer district and run from there.

Got to hope she loses the primary because the Colorado 4th is so Red that even she couldn’t lose it.

Imagine being hesitant to denounce slavery for fear of upsetting your base. That might cause a normal person to do some soul-searching, but not if you’re a candidate in the modern Republican party. Ethics and morals are for libtards.

According to the article, she doesn’t even have to move. She can run to represent a district that she doesn’t even live in.

And souls.

Ethics and morals (and souls) are WOKE!

Ethics and morals and souls-Oh my!

Eh, it’s in the Constitution, all you need to be is (legally) resident of the state. So it’s an easy out for candidates who want a safe seat.

Just when I thought that my state of Colorado would get rid of that embarrassment.

They might, still, if enough Republicans skip the election in protest (or apathy) of Trump not being on the ballot.

Or she might lose to another MAGAT candidate.

Worth noting about Nikki Haley’s ‘slavery, what slavery?’ answer to the question “What was the cause of the United States Civil War?” is that her answer, ignoring the existence of slavery as it does, basically positions the South as the Noble Defender of Liberty against the Evil, Anti-Liberty North.

Here’s a more extended transcript of what Haley said:

The South was so wonderful to be defending freedom! And the North was so awful to be imposing GOVERMENT on people!

She really is attempting to make that case.

And some very large proportion of Republicans think that interpretation of American history makes perfect sense.

Gift link:

I saw a CNN report about Nikki Haley’s answer to the question about the Civil War. She was trying to blame the person who asked the question, saying that he was a Democratic Party plant. CNN ran a clip of Chris Christie pointing out that doesn’t matter as much as her crappy answer.

I still think Chris Christie is a deplorable bully, but there’s no denying he gives great value on the ‘saying honest things about his fellow Republicans’ front.

In more “the party of Traditional Values” news: a failed GOP candidate for Lt. Governor of PA and activist who raised $800, 000 for anti-COVID school board candidates is facing charges for punching a teenager in the face during a drunken party, among other crimes.

You should check out the Nikki Haley P&E thread featuring dopers fawning over how strategic and smart her answer was.
But really, you should not. It’s embarrassing.

Stop the presses, everyone.

SUSAN COLLINS IS DEEPLY CONCERNED.
