NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 3)

Does she have a rifle that is not a gun?

I am slightly surprised that she never got a license for her gun just for safety reasons, but that has nothing to do with Trump’s babbling.

Do we actually know that she A)needs a license and B)doesn’t have one? Do we even know for sure if she has a gun? I mean, if she bought bullets, it’s a valid assumption, but in and of itself, doesn’t actually prove anything.

In Wisconsin, for example, you can buy a gun and open carry it in public without a license. You’d need a concealed carry permit/license to conceal it (which includes “open” carrying in your car), but that’s it.

Some very, very quick checking tells me New York requires a license/permit for a handgun, but not a long gun.

Edit: Turns out she testified that she owns a gun and it isn’t licensed.

On direct examination, Carroll testified that, as a result of the death threats she’d received, she purchased bullets for a gun she inherited from her father and kept the gun by her bed.

“Do you have a license for that gun?” Habba asked Carroll.

“No,” Carroll answered.

“Do you still not have a license for that gun?” Habba asked.

“I still do not have a license,” Carroll answered.

“Are you aware that you have to have a license—” Habba began to ask. Attorneys aren’t supposed to ask witnesses to draw legal conclusions.

“Don’t even start,” the judge interrupted.

Kentucky Republicans propose making it legal to kill homeless people.

Seems like a modest enough proposal.

This part seems icky too: “it classifies fleeing from law enforcement as a Class C felony.” Unless the fleeing endangers others, I don’t agree with this.

No Ms. Habba, I haven’t managed to get a license in the three seconds since your previous question.

She probably meant to say “Did you have a license for that gun?” Top-notch legalizin’.

As a professional trial lawyer, she knows that you should never ask a question that you don’t already know the answer to. And that was true of half her questions.

Dementia Donald strikes again.

I assume Congresswoman Stefalakik is filling out the name change forms as we speak.

Will her name be Mud?

Loser Donald complains that Democrats changed the names of “Fort This” and “Fort That”.

He then adds that refugees should remain in Mexico until youvadanevrenan.

Someone just has to make unit crests for those. The motto, of course, should be *Miror quod unum" (“I wonder which one”).

OK, that is plain over the line. He cannot even be arsed to lie or obfuscate, now he is down to literal gibberish? Why is this fuckwad not being strait-jacketed? I am incensed. This has to stop.

You think it’s only now he’s down to gibberish?

His diehard supporters didn’t blink an eye when he advocated taking away guns without due process. In fact, if my Twitter conversations are any indication, most of his supporters are either unaware that he said it, forgot he said it, or downplay it to nothing at all.

I forgot about that too.
While I assume (with good odds) that the reason Trump has to give the world his two cents about everything, even when he should be saying ‘I’ll let [this expert] field that question’ or just staying out of it primarily comes from a place of narcissism along with a heavy influence from the Dunning-Kruger effect, I do sometimes wonder if he consciously goes on and on and on about things that even he must know are wrong. Just to overwhelm the opposition. ie ‘They’ll forget that I wanted to take their guns if I tell them they can cure covid by injecting light into their veins’.
Don’t forget that as much as we rattle off the ‘every accusation’ line, the right has still been known to manufacture controversy to flood the airwaves so you won’t notice something else going on in the background.

Also I think if you’ve bought into the cult, you just have faith that any bad thing will just happen to everyone else. Trump said he’d take away people’s guns? Yeah he meant the demonic democrats and RINOs, not mine.

(And yes, we could quote the “First they came for the Communists…” passage, except in this case, the “they” are MAGA. They are not passively watching groups get demonized, they are enjoying it and are part of it)

Hell, Trump even said as much on Jan. 6th, “They’re not here to hurt me!”

“They” would argue that, from their point of view, as well as their personal experience “conversing” with each other, that trump is nowhere near down to gibberish. “Give him another five or twenty years,” they cry.
