NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 3)

Latest on Xitter:

NEW: Trump aides pledge a “holy war” on Taylor Swift as the former president privately grouses that he’s “more popular” than her.

You are actually going to attack her? Which would mean that whatever she does, she’s just fighting back?

Bitches, you know not what monster you are about to unleash. May whatever gods be have mercy on your black-hearted Nazi souls.

Oh, go ahead and attack Taylor Swift. That’s going to end well for you Trumpie.

Hannity sez Tay-Tay isn’t evil, she’s just a gullible moron.

The Babylon Bee, which is usually just awful, has a more amusing take.

And Tomi “I don’t need Obamacare because I’m covered by the ACA” Lahren says she’s smart enough to keep her mouth shut, unlike herself.

Hey! Kaepernick was my idea.

Why, so he was. I will credit your account accordingly.

If I have thought up an exquisite joke, it is because I have stood on the shoulders of giants.

Or on the robot arms thereof.

Newsmax host Greg Kelly said Monday that the passion of Taylor Swift’s fans constitutes idolatry and is, therefore, a sin.

“They are totally over the top worshipping this woman,” he said. “Have you seen any of the pictures of her in concert? I wouldn’t go myself. I don’t do that kind of thing anymore. But I think what they call it is, they’re elevating her to an idol. Idolatry. This is a little bit what idolatry, I think, looks like. And you’re not supposed to do that. In fact, if you look it up in the Bible, it’s a sin! So, I don’t like that.”

Well, I suppose if anybody would know what elevating somebody to idol status looks like, it would be the MAGAts.

I know we all like to make the ‘every accusation’ joke, but that’s a little too on the nose.

It isn’t a joke. This is the party that made a literal golden idol of trump, without irony.

Southern Baptists used to preach idolatry is a sin, despite their use of crosses. It’s one reason they hate Catholics.

I thought it had become a dated concept, not that I’ve kept up.

A certain strain of Southern Baptist (not the Jimmy Carter type - which is why he left) also always loved hypocrisy. That part hasn’t changed

The mind boggles. Do you suppose this pogue was simply unaware of the connection, or knew but didn’t care because he knew his audience would eat it up.

I’m sure dozens, dozens I tell you, came to that sudden realization during the broadcast. ᵃⁿᵈ ʳᵉᵖᵉⁿᵗᵉᵈ

Oh, it’s no strain at all. They make hypocrisy look effortless.

I’m betting Greg has rented the Eras movie and watched the entire thing several times in his basement just to be completely sure of his principled position on not idolizing self-made billionaires who can pull off a sequined leotard.

… while simultaneously imagining a certain “stable genius” in same.

Ow! Ow! Now I can’t get that image out of my head. I need an enormous amount of brain bleach! IMMEDIATELY!

There isn’t enough in the world. You’re doomed.

Why? Why you do this to me?
