Nepotism is nothing new to the RNC. Hell, the one leaving is a Romney. And, as long as the Saudis throw money at Trumps, the Russians use their money and disinformation to help, and they continue to cut taxes on the wealthy and corporations, the party will survive.
I really want you to be correct. I want the Republican party to disintegrate, the Maga faithful to be embarrassed and crawl back under their rocks, and the nation to take a lurch to the left. But I wanted the same when a Republican President blatantly broke the law, gave weapons to our enemies, and nothing changed. Or when a Republican President got us into an unnecessary billion dollar war based on lies and nothing chaged. Or when a Republican President literally tried to overthrow the government, and nothing changed.

It’s not just nepotism, though. The GOP under Trump has pretty much discarded the Old Guard and any pretense of even-handedness. The New Guard is literally uncompromising, and the “purity tests” are overwhelming. This is a party sabotaging its own ability to function and setting up a way to deplete its finances.
