Per your link, he didn’t technically say that; he said that him endorsing Biden caused division. AFAICT, it’s entirely possible that he means, you know, I was a generally popular and well-liked celebrity with fans all over the political spectrum — the most followed man in the world, even! — and then I endorsed Biden, and got a ton of pushback as division ensued. So, this year, I’m keeping my politics to myself; four years ago, I thought endorsing one candidate over another would be the best decision for me at that time; but, as someone once said, hey, Republicans buy sneakers too.
