I just saw this YouTube short from David Parkman. He’s right and so am I. It’s a cult and they’re in North Korea style adulation of their idol. The upshot is the magaflatearther cult believe their idol is better than Moses. He’s even called “prophet and liberator”. Of course, there’s a ritual reference to the Big Steal.
Asassin’s Creed really hasn’t been a stealth game for awhile. As far back as AC: Brotherhood (2010) the easiest way to carry out an assassination was to ride right up to your target on horseback, shoot him in the face, and then gallop away in a sort of 16th century drive-by.
IIRC, the same game had you besiege one of the Borgia’s fortresses in a steam-powered tank built by Leonardo da Vinci, so it’s not like they were ever striving for full historical accuracy.
I remember watching a good analysis of how stealth was a significant part of the design of the original assassin’s creed and how the franchise has been harmed by the move away from it, but…
…googling around trying to find that video I just hit a wall of “Ubisoft went woke!” videos, and they’re all plastered with “jokes” about george floyd or black people being illiterate or whatever (yet youtube frequently deletes my benign comments).
So now I’m down the right-wing rabbit hole. And I’ll probably be served this crap for a while. 
Right, and let’s not forget the fact that the historical portions of AC are not meant to be “real”. For those who don’t know the central conceit of the games is that you are a modern-day descendant of historical figures and you place yourself inside a Sci-Fi machine that allows you to live through your ancestors memories. It allows the developers to play around with all kinds of virtual reality, fake reality, and alternate history tropes. I think it was Unity where you play as an assassin during the French revolution, but there was one portion of the game where your sent through time and you find yourself stomping around medieval Paris and WWII era occupied Paris as well.
Also, to all of this “AC is woke” garbage, the first game has you playing as a 12th century Muslim fighting against crusaders in the middle east. That’s the hero! AC was woke before woke was a thing. It’s just more people ignoring and rewriting the past to justify their own disgusting racism.
Never mind.
And some (virtually all?) refuse to acknowledge that they are in a cult, choosing instead to cry “TDS”* at those trying to point out their cult membership status.
*Trump Derangement Syndrome.
It’s ironic because it’s the MAGA’s that have TDS. They are certainly deranged.

Last night I watched part of a street interview where the reporter was asking an ordinary person why she thought Trump was still President, a direct statement she had made. “Part of” because it was painfully obvious she had not given much, if any, thought why she believed that, too painful to see her struggle to answer.
That’s the same reason I don’t watch the Jordan Klepper stuff.
I’m okay with him doing it, I’m okay with people laughing at some of the stupid things they’re saying, but, personally, I don’t like watching the reality version of cringe comedy.
To paraphrase some one (no, not Lincoln), Og must love stupid people; he made so many of them.

And probably didn’t recognize the words or the historical significance of them. History is so… old, after all.
Anyone else surprised they didn’t say “The Fourth Reich”? Or perhaps the “Reich of the 47th”?

Rep. Byron Donalds’s medical education consists of a bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing from Florida State University. But the Florida Republican played a doctor on TV over the weekend, telling Fox News host Maria Bartiromo that, after examining President Biden, he suspects the president is receiving a secret medication that makes him appear to be sharp-witted and totally on the ball.
“The American people need to understand if they’re giving him some injection so that he can actually look like he’s coherent,” Donalds said.
Dr. Donalds seemed not to have considered the obvious possibility that Biden looks like he’s cogent and clear because he is cogent and clear. Still, the good doctor’s diagnosis raises some key questions that must be considered:
There is a shot that cures incoherence in one dose? How can I get some? Why has nobody thought to give it to Kevin McCarthy all these years? And why, for that matter, doesn’t Dr. Donalds, who seems to think he should be Donald Trump’s running mate, inject his prospective boss with the stuff? Just last week, Trump’s attempt at saying “carried out by radical Democrats” came out as “carried owby rgbgb tdai.”
