He can ban governments from doing that, but there’s no way he can prevent private persons from doing so. I’m hoping not only that every bridge in the state gets such privately-provided illumination, but also that the governor’s residence does also.

The Colorado GQP is encouraging parents to pull their kids from public schools.
Apparently this is in response to a law that just passed requiring schools to call kids by their preferred name. I guess calling kids what they actually want to be called is going to result in all these kids suddenly wanting gender reassignment surgery.

In other news, Pamala Moses is running for Senate. She’s the woman that was sentenced to 6 years in jail for voting illegally because she was on probation and her probation officer said she could vote. She founded the Memphis BLM chapter but also talks about her conservative values, so I’m guessing she’s not going to get far. I’m not sure who she expects to vote for her.

I have conservative values but I am progressive enough to submit my independent petition because I believe that independence is what this country needs.
And, FWIW, I didn’t follow this story all that closely, so I have no idea how well her politics were known by the public before she announced she’s running.

I really do not understand this. You do not have to be a citizen to collect Social Security, unless the rules have changed drastically. Nor do you have to be a citizen to have a SS number. I had one for nearly 30 years before I broke down and became naturalized. And I know my dad never became a citizen and collected his SS.
You do have to have a green card (or whatever it’s called these days).
But he never thought he had to get a green card because he always thought he was a citizen.
He might still be able to establish citizenship if he can get evidence that his father lived in the U.S. for a decade before moving to Canada where he was born - or possibly within the decade before his birth, the wording seems a little ambiguous. It sounds from the article like he’s been able to find the documentation necessary, in which case he’ll be able to collect on his Social Security once the gears of the bureaucracy manage to grind into action.
But the irony remains.

I don’t remember if I mentioned it here or not. But I have a feeling the “Biden’s on Drugs” comments are the accusation, which will be followed by a positive drug test result of amphetamines for Trump.
However Trump chooses to spin the test result will probably involve a lot of finger pointing at Biden so he’s laying the groundwork for that.

Per the article, he was denied because he couldn’t prove to the SSA that he was in the country legally.
This Trump-supporting rocket surgeon apparently never figured out that he was not a U.S. citizen despite the fact that he had a Canadian birth certificate and no naturalization documents.
His support for someone who despises immigrants and is against citizenship for Dreamers diminishes my sympathy for his situation.
