When you use a placeholder in a document, it should be something that’s really obviously a placeholder, like with a big red X over it or something, so you can notice when you still haven’t replaced the placeholder yet.
That’s my assumption. I would guess if you lived in Vietnam/Asia and google ‘city skylines’ that’s probably a likely result. Picture’s of Milwaukee’s skyline aren’t exactly difficult to come by. Even if they use that as a placeholder until they get a picture they have the rights for, it’s better than accidentally* publishing a picture of Vietnam, especially when tying to tell businesses to move to/stay in the states.
*This happens ‘accidentally’ often enough that I have to wonder if they’re really accidental.
I think this one was actually accidental. Pretty much all of their other “accidents” involved “accidentally” using Nazi and White Power imagery. I said some time ago that if they were really accidents, why do they never go the other way, and “accidentally” use Communist imagery?
Hey, maybe it wasn’t an accident after all, maybe they’re trying to make the others look like accidents…
People, they saya my name is a slur. They say, Guido, howacome youra name is a slur? Whya you talk like a stereotype? I say [drags on cigarette] my mamma dinna raise no slurs! It’s a yous, draggin my godgiven name into the mud.
…Is this some even stupider version of the Ontological Argument? “Well what is it that you don’t believe in, if the thing you don’t believe in doesn’t exist?”
Not to hijack, but that is kind of philosophically correct. Existence demands imbalance (imperfection). Once a perfect state is attained, there can be no further progress, unless it is into imperfection, so, really, perfection is death. This also correlates to creation: how could somethingness arise out of nothingness? It does because it has to: nothingness is a perfect equillibrium, which is naturally unstable and will collapse into something all on its own.
Texas Republican representative Troy Nehls is coming under bipartisan condemnation for stolen valor after he wore an unearned Combat Infantry Badge on his lapel on the floor of Congress.
A CBS News investigation in early May found Nehls’ Combat Infantryman Badge had been revoked from his service record in March 2023 because he served as a civil affairs officer and it was mistakenly awarded.
He was so corrupt, the police department for the next town over fired him. Later managed to get elected Sheriff for the county but a few years later “chose” not to run again (his almost equally worthless brother holds that post now). He’s got gerrymandering to thank for his Congressional seat, though he’s squeaked by the last couple times.
Here’s hoping we finally see the back of that no account bastard!
