They’re a bunch of no good plum bums.
Keep them away from the hotel Watergate.
I apologize if this has been mentioned before, but I just saw that Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona has introduced a bill to abolish the Occupational Health and Safety Act, better known as OSHA. He’s done this before and gotten nowhere, but now, who knows? According to Biggs, health and safety in the workplace should be addressed by the states and by private employers.
Yeah, right.
Technically, no health and safety standard is a health and safety standard, technically.
I know that Republicans don’t have nearly enough Senators to get the 60 votes needed to abolish a federal agency, and aren’t going to convince enough Democrats to agree to go over that threshold.
It’s a stunt to show the base they’re “doing something”, and gives them another thing to whine about while attacking the left. It also shows certain rich people that the Republicans are “serious” about trying to help big businesses get richer.
Calgarian here.
I love Alberta, its has some really beautiful landscapes and a lot of great people. But it also has some really really bleak landscapes, lots of really reactionary, entitled, ‘oil patch is everything’ conservatives, and a lot of voters that can not possibly imagine voting anything but conservative, oblivious to the crazy shit the right wing UCP is up to.
The governing UCP is anti vax, anti health care, anti public education and hostile to the rest of Canada. They are fucking loons that love everything MAGA. Jason Kenny was too liberal for them for fuck sakes.
Im ashamed of the Alberta government. We are no Texas, but the closest thing to Texas Canada has. Go ahead and compare us The rest of Canada has a right to be fuckin pissed.
Spoons, I don’t think there is a snowballs chance in hell of a majority of Albertans voting Liberal in a federal election no matter who the leader was.
Its -20 right now and the roads are polished ice.
True, true. But it’s also true that some a-holes are bigger than others.
Yeah, this.
Getting rid of OSHA and ceasing to replace lead pipes, like all the other changes the Trumpites/Muskites want:
- saves money that can be diverted to the pockets of the Trumpites/Muskites
- makes citizens sicker and weaker, so they can’t rebel, and
- creates enough chaos and discontent that (the T/Ms believe) the T/Ms can get away with declaring martial law and doing away with the pretense of Rule of Law altogether.
It all works for them. Plus they get a little thrill from the knowledge that they can get away with harming people–it’s a sociopath thing.
nevermind
Since I seemed to have killed this thread with a yo momma joke, let me try to resurrect it by mentioning that Trump has announced sanctions against the International Criminal Court.
The US is not a signatory to the ICC, so sanctions would have to be things like travel bans for anyone involved in the arrest warrant for Netanyahu.
JD Vance (remember him?) says that just because an unqualified teenager is an open racist doesn’t mean he shouldn’t have access to everyone’s Social Security data.
He’s a racist, which to any halfway decent person is a bad dude. (Obviously not to you, couchlover.)
Yeah, but he was only specifically racist against Indians. It’s not like Vance knows any Indian people who he might possibly be outraged on behalf of, right? ![]()
Since Vance is married to an Indian woman, denigrating Indians might devalue his property, so maybe he would take exception to that. Perhaps someone should remind him that the dude was talking trash about his “stuff”.
Fox Hosts Say We’re All Too Stupid To Understand Donald Trump’s Brilliance
Feb 7, 2025
According to multiple hosts on Fox News, including Kayleigh McEnany and Harris Faulkner, Democrats and most of the public at large are simply too stupid to understand the brilliance of the moves that Donald Trump is making. The hosts claimed that Trump is playing “four dimensional chess” while everyone else is playing checkers on issues like tariffs and the takeover of the Gaza Strip. These hosts may be too stupid to understand what he’s doing, but we certainly aren’t, as Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains.
I have noticed in the last couple of days that Fox hosts and Trump appointees and sycophants have been saying “4D chess” and that Trump’s a genius that “thinks outside the box”.
I’ve heard it said enough times in the few daily minutes I overhear right-wing “news” that there must be some sort of talking points memo that goes out in the morning or night before to these people so they know how to spin Trump’s idiocy for the rubes that only get their news from these sources.
Is this Erwin’s famous box? Is he in the box that he is thinking outside of? And does make him both alive and dead at the same time?
Trump doesn’t think outside the box because he doesn’t think. He has urges and impulses and acts on them. Or does whatever he’s “advised” to from the Project 2025 cult. But thinking doesn’t enter into it.
Now, now, I’m sure he thinks. But at the level of an 8 year old with little to no comprehension of why he is wrong (or even that he even could be wrong) but somehow still suspicious that the adults in the room are laughing at him for some reason.
Small hands syndrome?
He has been observed to make movements and vaguely recognizable word-like noises, so we can be somewhat certain that basic neural function is happening, at least at the motor level. He is at least as smart as a drosophila.

So says one of the sponsors, a Republican physician! Dear God.
