New Year snow in the MMP

SWMBO said the dryer wasn’t trying. I checked the vent when I went to check the mail, and nothing was coming out. She tried digging any lint out by using a grabber down the lint screen port, but came up empty. I pulled the dryer out, disconnected the flexible duct, and came out with a large handful of lint. After putting the duct back on and pushing the dryer back, I went outside to check flow. Free and clear. :slight_smile: I’m thankful for two things: 1) That I put wheels on the dryer a couple of years ago; and 2) That I’d replaced that torn-assed flexible duct when I put the wheels on. Those two things made the operation a piece of piss! :slight_smile:

Lazy day today. I made leftovers for breakfast: Leftover biscuits, leftover gravy (OK, I did make a little and added the leftover to it), and scrambled eggs. Cleaned the toilet, and did the dryer thing. Dinner is cut up smoked sausage with a couple of jars of sauerkraut. Might have to get some soon.

Evening all. Back from coaching 3 games (U8, U10, U12) and we lost all three, but the kids had fun and I got some exercise coaching, so it was a good day. Rain is due about 5am tomorrow and then stick around for 12-15 hours, so just as well I was active today–tomorrow don’t look very good.

I’ll leave y’all to your tubs of tentacles, even the thought of it makes me icky-feeling.

nellie, FCM, hope your family member pains get better. And Sunny, flu ain’t fun, but it’s sure better than the nasty COVID… Everyone be well now.

Butters, good news on the sale, hope you get the new place and it works out for you.

Mooomm, I’d be pushing hard on that debit. I check my accounts at least twice a week (of course, being a retired gentleman of leisure I have the time to spare) for any odd charges. Could it be some annual fee that got automatically charged that you’ve forgot about (happened to me now and then). Hope it gets straightened out.

OK, need to supplement the McDonald’s double cheeseburger I snarfed down about 2pm, so all y’all take care.

flyboy Nice catch on the dryer lint. I’ve heard horror stories of houses catching on fire from that. I can always tell, (winter times) cuz the vent…, well, vents right over the back porch. If the snow melts, the dryer is doing its thang.

didn’t we hear that 2 years ago? :rofl:

ditto on my side

Hopefully now the new years blurfs are on the way out and barring any surprises from the northern artic states and regions our month of winter is over and in a week or so well begin our early spring , was a pretty chill day overall

although I do long for the days when one can complete a shopping list with no worries again I mean I’m sure the instacart people don’t care for the need to be babysat as they do their jobs …

Reasonable day today, apart from the cold. And I, too want a tub o’ tentacles.

There’s a severe Scotch shortage at the likker store. But if the gin runs out, we riot.

Yay!

Boo. But they hadn’t noticed before?

Yay for the sale, Butters.

I’ve had two ginnintonics tonight. Having a glass of cabernet now.

Well, brain fart. I just realized that the $550 was a payment on our furnace. Dammit. I didn’t recognize the bank name. I’ll straighten it out in the morning.

Morning all. {{Wordy}} {{Everyone else who wants one}}

Virtual hugs are OK even if you have plague, right? Got it confirmed this morning :mask:. In a weird way, I’m OK with it- it’s almost a relief. I don’t think I could have timed it to be less inconvenient, my housemate here is still testing negative, and I’m barely feeling sick; I think I would have shown signs of getting properly ill by now if I was going to, and obviously I’ve been slightly worrying about catching this for nearly 2 years…

Aw, {{{Nut}}} - sorry you’re dealing with this, but glad it’s apparently mild. Hope it runs its course quickly.

In fact, hugs to all who have been or are fighting this plague and apologies for not responding sooner. My brain is overwhelmed with stuff at home and I’m not focusing well, hence the fraud report to my credit union. Dammit. I just sent in a second report rescinding the first, and I’ll contact a rep when they’re back on line and tell them. Anyway, {{{Group Hug}}}!!

It’s a relatively mild (for this week) morning and it’s supposed to stay above freezing all day. I think I’ll go out and try to remove the snow mound blocking the truck in before the rain comes later today. I need to drive the truck because it’s been sitting for a couple of weeks, and that’s not good. I also need to clear the way so I can take FCD’s car out - it shouldn’t sit undriven for long either, tho it’s not been a week yet.

No plans beyond that. I was going to take us out to breakfast, but my poor sweetie twisted his leg when turning over in bed last night, so he’s hurting pretty badly. I just drugged him up. I’ve been keeping a list of what I give him and when he gets it so I don’t forget any doses. Alexa reminders help, too.

Enough whining. Onward to the day. Happy Sunday!!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 49 Amurrkin out and mostly cloudy (partly moony?) with a predicted high of 78 with rain showers that look like they won’t start until late afternoon. The big items on today’s agenda are deheathenization (I have Chalice duty), First (OK Second) Sunday brunch, and my last Vestry meetin’, even though I am still on the Vestry for two more weeks. After all that I foresee nappage followed by much sloth for the rest of the day. I have the pulled poke slowly warmin’ up as I post and will place it in the warmin’ oven when it gets over to the church house.

{{{Nuts}}} sorry you have the plague. Hope you are over it soonest.

MOOOOOOM a brain fart is not uncommon in folks as old and senile as you. I just realized the day I am officially unVestried is also your bday. There will be double reason to celebrate!

shoe are you in big trouble with the landlord over the ratties?

shades true, I was JW, then I wasn’t JW, then I was JW again, but this time I cannot be again as my term on the Vestry is endin’ and I can’t be anything Vestry wise for at least two years.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

May your plague symptoms get no worse nut.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasting and when that’s done, I’ll start the curry in the crock for supper.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. I’ve taken Gordie out for his business, and Alex Catt is on the chair back behind me, slurping her nipples in a demure and ladylike fashion. Much handegg shall be watched today.

Reminds me I need to pop open my Snoop Dogg Cali.

{{{{{{Group hug}}}}}

Morning all. Have retrieved the newspaper before the rain starts, but it’s due in a couple of hours and according to the weather radar, it’s going to stick around for awhile. At least it’s fairly warm…50F heading for 60F… so it’ll just be wet.

{{{{joins in group hug–masked of course…}}}

FCM, had that brain fart 1-2 times in the past; glad you’re getting it worked out.

OK, need to warm up the house so I can bathe and prepare myself for outside activities (Red Robin-YUM is on the schedule for dinner today). All y’all take care.

Good morning everyone.

I’m sorry you’ve got the plague, nut. I hope your symptoms continue to be mild.

I hope you’re not in any trouble with the landlord, shoe.

Wordy, I am sorry about your mother’s diagnosis. That well and truly sucks. Big hugs to you.

I had a minor internal freakout with my bank too. I opened my account to make a payment to one of my creditors when I noticed my line of credit wasn’t showing on the main page. I was all freaked out thinking I had missed a payment. I looked on the bill pay page and it shows up there, and it showed my last payment last month. Then I freaked out thinking I had missed this month’s payment and made another payment. As it turns out, I had paid this month’s payment early. I’ll open the website again tomorrow and if it doesn’t show on the main page, I’ll contact them and find out what’s going on.

It’s a cool 31 degrees with an expected high of 48 and partly sunny skies. I should get my fat hiney over to the park for a good walk/sometimes run, but I’ve got a myriad of chores to do.

Speaking of plague, I was notified on Friday that an employee from another agency who works in one of our offices has it AND she came in last week and this week. I had to send notifications out to all the staff in my agency that work in that building. Since it’s another agency’s employee, I don’t have specifics and they need to arrange for cleaning. But, this employee does walk through areas in my agency to get to hers, so those employees have been told to go home and quarantine themselves. But, it kind of screws up my plans to get into the building on Monday. She wouldn’t have been in my area, but she may have used the entrance I use. What a PITA. My agency has two offices in that building; an area office and the state office.

Well, it’s time for another cup of coffee and then I shall commence tidying.

It’s closing in on 11AM and I’m still in robe and slippere… Like a retired bum.

:grin::grin::grin:

It’s closing in on 9 ayem, and I’m starting to wake up. Breakfast is cooking, and I’ll put on another pot of joe soon.

Yesterday we got the suitcases put away and today we put away the Christmas decorations.

Just have to respond to a few dozen emails and write some thank you notes as well, but I’ll probably work on that during the week.

Placed an order for clothing from a company that is phasing out their clothing line. Who knows when I’ll be traveling again to the UK and the rest of Europe.

We have tickets for a concert in Germany on February 1st. It’s not canceled or moved. Yet. But it probably will be.

I have the feeling the next few weeks will be rather humdrum - we’re working from home (mandatory since before Christmas), and probably won’t even go into Luzern much until the numbers start coming down.

And the weather’s a bit on the blah side. Hovering around freezing, with bits of precipitation.

For all those that need it (and we probably need it):

{{{{{{{{{{{HUG}}}}}}}}}}}}

I love my credit union. The have a chat feature available most of the time (not late at night) and I was just able to cancel the fraud claim I submitted. So there won’t be any problem with the loan and life is good again.

Daughter lost power for a little bit, but not long enough for them to have to come here. And SIL will have Toby tomorrow, leaving me free to run some errands. We’re running low on cat litter and dog treats - oh the horror!!! :open_mouth: I’ll run to WalMart in the morning. It’s raining here now - I won’t be shoveling today. As soon as I clean the critter fountain (because I didn’t do it yesterday) I’ll tread the mill, then chill.

Now that the holidays are done, I need to get back to eating properly and exercising. These last few months have added back some poundage that I don’t need. Dammit.

We had some snoop wine at Christmas.

All exercising to fix knees and here I sit in an air cast with orders to do this for two more weeks. Thank God for my neighbor walking the dog. I got a trial of You Tube TV so I can watch football today and tomorrow.
I called the little Asian market yesterday and they met me at my car with some pot stickers. I need other things from the store but I just won’t pay the shipt up charges. I hate to send anyone so I am in a pickle. I have food just not what I want.

The Monticello ppl countered at 10K less but once again I am uncertain of location. Found a very cute 2/1 in Palm Bay (space coast) which is mid state and near sonny boy but not right on top of him. It’s a good price for the area. The buyer of my house is coming on Tuesday with the agent and inspector. I do not think I’ll have any problems though.

Im already tired of ppl telling me I should have held out for more money and get into a bidding war and make more money. With this offer,a full price cash offer that means no strangers traipsing through my house during the plague, no open houses and it’s just easier on me right now. I’ll make out just fine. Ppl should mind their own business anyway.

Nut and Sunny here’s hoping the plague is minor. My neighbor across the street is still in ICU and since his wife is sick too I don’t get much info.

Yep. There’s a price for playing the games and only you can decide what it’s worth to you. But you know what “they” say: opinions are like asshole. Everyone has one and they all stink. :rofl:

I had a good walk while watching an episode of Death in Paradise. Now I’m ensconced in my recliner. Life is good.
