NFL Week Five by Five

It’s obviously an NFL rule that you cannot sack Brady. Terrible fucking call.

That was remarked upon in this room. I literally don’t know how much cleaner a tackle could be.

The Chargers tried to Browns it but the Browns were having none of it.

Kevin Stefanski is a choker, unfortunately. He has his good qualities but his game management and play calling decisions turn to ass in the 4th quarter. Browns are probably 4-1 or 5-0 if he was the same coach in the 4th quarter as he is in the first.

Yeah, I was agreeing with you.

That’s elder abuse!

(I am about a month older than Brady so self-own.)

I didn’t think otherwise.

Ah, I see the confusion. By “in this room” I meant in meatspace, the room I’m in watching the game with friends and family.

Gotcha.

Whooooooo!! Five and 0! Five and 0! :eagle:

E A G L E S EAGLES!!

I think it’s clear they’re legit good.

Big showdown with the Cowboys coming up.

It’s no longer the NFC Least.

Did anybody notice all of the people walking behind the end zone during that punt? It looked like there were about 100 people.

I’m almost always on the side of going for it on 4th downs in these conversations, so I guess I don’t disagree with going for it here.

The weird thing though is that Staley seems totally random about when he goes for it now. Like there were a couple times in the Chiefs game that were much more obvious cases to go for it, and he didn’t. Last year he was going for everything, which people can disagree with, but at least it’s a coherent approach that you can try to build your offensive identity around.

When Keenan Allen is tweeting asking what the hell they’re doing, there may be a problem.

And we have our first coaching casualty in the Not For Long League as the Carolina Panthers fire Matt Rhule.

And he still has 4 years left on his contract.

Pretty good week of results so far!

  • Patriots stuff the #1 offense in the NFL with a goose egg in a dominating performance
  • Kaaron Rodgers can’t get the win with the ball in his hands
  • The Cleveland Rape Apologists lose a close one, too bad, so sad
  • The Steelers are humiliated at home
  • I want to cheer the Dolphins losing, but I feel bad for Tua, so I won’t

And for Teddy Bridgewater. It’s not like Miami has a terrible O-Line but they have to do better protecting their QBs

I don’t think it was the O-Line who threw Tua back out there after the first concussion, so they’re not the ones who need to do a better job protecting him.

Since Ruhle is no longer on the hotseat I think my comment is correct.

Officiating in the NFL is an apocalypse. The sport is almost unwatchable. I genuinely don’t give a shit how long the game is, every single play, call, and non-call should be reviewable within the existing challenge structure. I have zero patience for clowns who think human error by officials and umpires is “part of the game.”

Another completely bogus roughing the passer call. That wasn’t roughing the passer, that was tackling the passer.

The tackler took the ball from the QB. At that point, the quarterback is no longer a passer.

After yesterday, and after the first half tonight, I am inclined to agree.
