Niche topic: has anyone tried the new oddball (but delicious-sounding) Oreos?

I saw these in an ad sidebar someplace and checked Google.

Summary from Gemini:

New Limited-Time Flavors

  • Banana Pudding: Features sweet banana and vanilla pudding creme between two vanilla wafer cookies.
  • Deep Fried: Uses fried dough-flavored cookies with layers of dark chocolate and fried dough-flavored creme.
  • Chicken & Waffles: Combines sweet and savory notes of fried chicken and maple syrup on a waffle-textured cookie.
  • BTS Brown Sugar Pancake: Features dual-layer brown sugar pancake creme inside purple cookies inspired by Korean hotteok

I haven’t looked for any of these at HEB. I hafta say the Banana Pudding flavor intrigues me, as does the Deep Fried variety.

The Oreo website also shows Orange Creme, Toffee Crunch, and Lemon Creme. I’ve never seen Toffee Crunch in the store, or I would surely have tried them. I’ll bet they would be great crushed on top of ice cream.

I’ve never been the biggest Oreo fan in the world. [Although I did have a black & white–mostly white–kitty named Oreo, and I was a big fan of his.] I’ve tried the thin mint ones and lemon one and liked them.

I love Oreos, and could finish a package off in short order. I could eat a sleeve of them while watching TV, and still be hungry afterwards. They never lasted until my next planned shopping trip. Since I knew it wasn’t healthy to eat them, and the new flavors don’t don’t sound any healthier, three years ago I vowed to give up eating snacks in general, and sugary treats in particular. Primarily, because I couldn’t eat just one or two, and I feel much better as a result. YMMV.

Friends came and stayed with us so they could attend the BTS concert, and they brought BTS coffee products, coffee lozenges favored by kpop groups, and BTS Oreos. They were quite yummy, and the two packages of them went pretty quickly. Also, each one had a BTS slogan or band members’ names on it!

We have a black and white (mostly black) cat named Oreo. I’m a big fan of plain old Oreos, and I’d probably be happy to munch on any of the oddball varieties.

Deep fried Oreos I’ve seen at fairs.

It’s a big mess to eat. The family loved them.

Pre-packaged can’t be good, at least not better. I think the thrill is the gooey center. YMMV

Several years ago, they had candy-corn flavored Oreos on Halloween-time. A Facebook friend who said she loved candy corn said they were vile.

I couldn’t find the strip, but I remember when the people on the “Cathy” comic strip were doing family oral histories, and two women heard it wrong and started telling Oreo stories.

I love Oreos. I’d try those BTS ones.

Lemon? Absolutely.

I’ve recently bought the Apple Pie, and they are OK. Will be looking for the others to try.

The Wife bought a package of the banana pudding ones and she says they taste like banana pudding and nilla wafers. The other flavors did not interest us.

I love banana pudding with vanilla wafers. I hope they have those at my local HEB because I really really want some.

I haven’t had that food combination in years, perhaps decades. Now all I want right now is warm banana pudding with several vanilla wafers stuck in the bowl with the pudding.

I can confirm the BTS Oreos were surprisingly good. I bought them as a joke for board game night and we all ended up loving them.

There’s a restaurant in San Antonio that serves it in a HUGE beer glass topped with toasted Italian merengue. It’s probably illegal.
:face_savoring_food:

I’ve shared this with three other friends and we all had plenty.

There is still an open box of nilla wafers on the counter from weeks ago when the Wife made banana pudding.

(Checks Google Maps)

San Antonio is 650 miles from my house. If I leave after an early breakfast tomorrow, I can be there in time for dinner.

I’ll meet you there, but no sharing. We each get our own.

Works for me. I wasn’t planning on sharing mine, anyway.

I’m willing to give all four of those a try – have to look for them when we go shopping Wednesday.

I agree. Now if they’d just start making Double Stuf lemon Oreos. And Double Stuf mint. . . .

Wife was very happy a couple years ago when they started making gluten-free Oreos.

:musical_note: “A kid’ll eat the inside of an Oreo first, and save the chocolate cookie outside for last.” :musical_notes: I always eat the cookie part first, trying to end up with a complete disk of the cream filling.

That looks fantastic.
ETA: over 3000 km, so hold the table.
