No one has anything to say for an MMP?

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 67 Amurrkin out and mostly clear with a predicted high of 85 and and N.O.S. for the day. This is almost Fall weather for these parts. I have a doc appt. this mornin’ and the bug guy comes at one p.m. to do his monthly thang. That is the big excitement for the day. BLT’s and oven fries for sup cause I’m feelin’ lazy and have a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for a BLT or two.

I have read but retained little so, yays, boos, hugs, noogies, trouts, chitlins, and how you doin’s all around, as needed.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, bother of bothers, I must purtify and don attire accceptable for bein’ amongst the great unwashed. Life can be so hard!

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Good morning everyone.

It’s 61 degrees outside with an expected high of 68 and mostly cloudy skies. The smoke mostly cleared out by yesterday afternoon. I know because I actually saw patches of blue sky. I’m grateful for the cooler temps and am more than ready for autumn.

I had to go to the office yesterday and had a busy day. I also received both my 4th quarter and annual performance review yesterday. It was a very good review and my boss told me she had actually put me in for awards. I’m sure they’re not huge because my division’s budget for that is very small, but it’s still nice of her and I’m grateful. Besides, the state also gave me a couple of awards and one of them was very generous.

I was having a conversation with our PIO who came into work on some stuff. He asked me if I was going to apply for a particular job, which would make me a supervisor over everyone there, and I told him that I am applying but am not sure of my chances. I also told him I know the whole leadership team was applying. I felt honored when he told me there were only two people on the whole leadership team that he wanted to get it, and I was one of them. He likes that I remain calm in the face of stressful or hectic situations, even when someone has messed up and that he would like it if I were his supervisor. That’s a real compliment and I thanked him. My current boss also wants me to get that job and keeps giving me helpful advice for my resume and I appreciate that. My current boss can be that way because I would no longer work for her and she doesn’t have anything to do with the decisions related to that position.

There were many other happenings yesterday; another member of the leadership team came and talked to me about some issues mainly venting, but also seeking some advice. I had several meetings, several HR issues that needed my attention as well as budget and travel stuff. I was glad to get home.

I have another full day ahead of me.

I am sorry about the spendy and unexpected car repairs, FCM. I hate that they make simple things so expensive now. One shouldn’t have to remove a stupid bumper to replace a headlight.

I’m glad you got such a huge break with med expenses, flyboy.

I know there is a lot more going on with all of you, but I was trying to catch up so quickly read through and didn’t retain a lot.

I hope you all have a terrific day!

Update on my Brown delivery…it’s now still “on the way” but scheduled for wedesday. I think they lost it. This is a real PITA, cuz I need it to finish a project so’s I can get paid. It’s 5 feet long.

Morning all. 63F this morning and the house is cool without the AC on for the first time in awhile. Nothing much on the agenda until soccer this afternoon, so will enjoy the weather and maybe do a few things around the house.

Taters, I think I would have liked you as a boss…never wanted to be a supervisor myself, but I know a good one when I see them.

VanGo, sounds like UPS stands for “Unknown, Put on Shelf”. Hope you get it Wednesday.

FCM, will cross fingers for you that In-Laws see the apartment…and the light.

sari, one of these days Barky and Humpy will stop coming to the park–just keep telling yourself that…

Yeah, the curse of the competent…everybody assumes you can do what you’re not trained for…

OK, need to think about break fast and what needs to be done. All y’all take care.

I was a slug a bed. I didn’t wake up til 8:30. It is sunny and dry with a predicted high of 76. On my agenda is barn time and the grocery sto. And sloth.

It’s not just the headlight - it’s the entire assembly, including the support structure and the lens. The bulb itself is easy to replace.

FCD just left to take his folks to see the apartment. As they were going, his mom said she didn’t want to do this. OMG - she’s going to back out!!! After all we’ve been doing…

Babby is fussy and still feverish - gotta try to feed him.

I think we’ll make an apple pie or two today, since we have a good haul from the orchard. We probably picked 60 pounds in about 20 minutes. Stopped by all the kids’ houses and gave them a bag, but our take-home bag is still a lot of apples for two people.

OF all things, I’m stressing over my passport photo. When my sister in Louisiana applied a few weeks ago, the USPS took her photo, but I’m not sure it works the same way here, and as I guess most of you know, they’re very picky: photo must be 2x2 and head in photo must be exactly 1 5/8ths inch, for instance. I don’t have recent photos and hate having my photo taken, especially selfies, so I’m sorting through photos. I’ll walk to the PO for my appointment.

@Sunny_Daze, thinking of you today and hoping the procedure goes well!

FCM, I’d count on MIL vacillating. It’s a big step, and she doesn’t seem like she does well with change, to put it mildly. Hopefully she’ll come around. I’m sorry for you and FCD. You haven’t even been able to enjoy the boat lately, have you?

VanGo, when I’ve had that message from UPS, it hasn’t meant it’s lost (Well, once it did, but it turned up months later. It was a book bout rock music, so I figure it found some groupies and got high.) but that it somehow got routed to the wrong place and was making its way back. My fingers are crossed that it arrives tomorrow.

Exciting to be getting a passport~I have never had one but it is on my bucket list.

I know most Walgreens, if they have a photo dept, do passport and visa photos. They do all the fussing about the picky requirements. I have seen them doing them at several Walgreen’s near me.

The heaving itself was oddly OK. Hoever, it rained last night. Outside(and most of the building was mecifully cool, but my station was “superglued to Satan’s taint” hot and steamy.

Sell them for parts to pay the tax bill?

Good bet that it needed a retape, and it got rescheduled. Or the driver left it behind.

Yeah, you should see the stack of USPS/FedEx/Amazon Prime stuff we have that was dropped in the wrong box. But if the delivery on VanGos package has updated, it’s not too lost. Yet.

Fingers crossed for the new position, Taters.

Thank you everyone. It’s nice to be up and about again.

Boo: Glad to hear you’re joining the nose-hose brigade. It’ll be worth it, trust me.
Taters: Best of luck on the promotion.

Wanted to say more, but SD site is getting cranky and refusing to scroll anymore. Hopefully this “reply” will take.

On edit: Now it’s letting me type more. (??). FCM: Hope the apartment works out, or at least is a step in the right direction. I’m dealing with oldsters who refuse to relinquish even a scintilla of control or independence. It’s tiring I know.

I hope this means more moola.

Saw a number of signs for the Siuslaw National Forest and kept reading SSLAW.

Parents (mainly my mom) have us scheduled for at least one activity each day. Different idea of vacation than me, and also leaves me little time to catch up with this week’s MMP.

Despite this week’s topic, it seems a lot of people have a lot to say.

I’ll try to catch up later - enjoy the Tuesday!

I cleared History on my irk computer, and I’m in the orifice today. Now I can’t log into Facebook for some time-wasting because I don’t remember my password and Keychain Access is on my Macs at home.

Afternoon all. Pedaled 600 calories away, then promptly put them back on, so at least it didn’t add to my waistline. Will watch soccer for a couple hours then go to coach it. Beautiful day, in the 70’s and clear.

flyboy, I’ve done that too, at home, cleared out all the ‘old’ stuff and then had to remember all the passwords (at least those Firfox hasn’t saved for me.

FCM, MIL is going to have cold feet, moving anytime is stressful, but at their advanced years, it’s going to cause continuing trepidation. Just hope they still will use logic and reason…I’m sure the apartment complex folks are used to dealing with this and will put an effort in to make moving there attractive. Fingers crossed.

nellie, concur with BBBoo, have had my last set of Passport pics taken at Walgreens, they do all the fussy stuff and never had a problem. And BBBoo, would have thought you would have had a passport sometime in your life…I’m on my 4th now).

Cookie, love eating apples but they are expensive in the stores, glad you have an orchard handy.

OK, some more internettin’ then the UEFA Champions League. Take care all.

Made apple tart a few days ago, but now I can’t make more because of the oven situation.

Settle Down, My Boy by Men at Work just played on the iPod. Didn’t really listen to the lyrics, but I liked the beat and Colin Hay’s singing. It took me back to the '80s when I was young and anything seemed possible. It made me happy.

My passport app is in. Thanks so much for the recommendation, Boo and MetalMouse. Unfortunately, Walgreen’s is a mile in the wrong direction, and while they have a photo department, they don’t staff it, so there’s usually quite a wait. I didn’t have that much time. Happily, the PO person was able to take the photo, and it was $1 less than Walgreen’s charges.

My sister told me to make a copy of my birth certificate, as you have to send in the official one, so I did that, but the woman said she needed the original and the copy, so now I won’t have a birth certificate for 8-11 weeks. Hopefully I won’t have to prove I was born.

Susan, hope yyour oven allows you to make tarts again soon.

flyboy, that’s a sweet memory. You’re making happy memories now, too. In the immortal words of Carly Simon, these are the good ol’ days.

Howdy all. Been a busy day here, finished the molding on the doors, then a trip to Syracuse to pick up glue and laminate. Got stuck behind an arm for a windmill on the interstate, so that was kinda cool. Saw the other two going by on my way north, police escort, etc.

So… pics of the doors I’ve been working on.

They still need paint, but that’s someone else’s job.

Had I bothered to check my email, I would have seen the one from Facebook that said ‘We noticed you’re having trouble logging into your account. If you need help, click the button below and we’ll log you in.’

I’ll still have to look up the password when I get home, so that I might remember it. (Yes, every site has a different password.)

And now Is It A Dream from The Damned’s ‘Phantasmagoria’ album is playing. Another nice, bouncy tune. And Nick Cave’s wife on the cover is pretty.

Appendages crossed sunny!

Good luck on the job interview taters!

flyboy, I keep passwords in the cloud so’s I really only have to remember one.

Irked, came home, walked Nelson, skritched the neighbor poodles’ ears, et and am fixing to do KP. Then it’s more research on the communications bill. metal mouse, I’ve been with AT&T for a lot of years, but with the shrunken paycheck, inflation and the rent increase, I’m trying to trim the fat.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!
