No one has anything to say for an MMP?

Yeah, I hope you don’t experience it from the inside. I’m really starting to worry if I’m going to be dealing with some nasty long-term limitations (such as no driving myself if I need to go somewhere), or TBH, how long “long term” might be. I want Friday to get here more than I did when working, because Friday, I sit down with the cardiologist and hopefully get more information. A solution to what’s going on would be lovely, but I’m in a bit of a gloomy mood right now and worrying that there is no solution.

Stop that right now! Seriously, stop. Pet kitties, eat chocolate, call your local dispensary and learn how to smoke weed, do something besides brood. Stress really does kill people. The cause of death is usually heart attack or stroke but stress is the cause.

And don’t go checking Dr Google either. That will be the easiest way to raise your blood pressure ever.

You have just recovered from COVID, it is very possible some of that shit is still kicking you around.

Has the air gotten better where you live? We had a couple of pretty big storms out this way and the sky’s are blue. I really hope you got some of them as well.

{{{{{{{{nettie}}}}}}}}

As far as Ms. Indoor Hermit could tell, no rain here, but AQI was good today.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. It’s only 62 outside. Brrrr.

[Dali Lama]Oh, there’ll be no money. But on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousnesses.[/Dali Lama]
There wouldn’t be a raise, but it means more opportunities for hours. Being talented and flexible is how I make 40+ hours on a “part time” job. That, the union negotiated, company paid benefits, and my social life being “sitting on the floor, drinking martinis with Gordie” is how I’m staying ahead of inflation.

Me, too!(I could help JtC’s hubby busy brewing and drinking beer)

Eek! Yeah, hopefully the doc can diagnose this for you.

Does he drink his out of a martini glass or a dog dish?

Gah…got the British National Anthem stuck in my head. For the last few days. Just awoke for a bathroom visit and it’s driving me crazy. I need sleep.

Mooom. How scary! Glad he is Ok.

We don’t have to go that far - FCD offered him one of the outbuildings here. The thing is, FIL is no longer capable of doing anything in any shop. Any project he used to do (and he did beautiful work - I’ll try to take some pics when we go there this weekend) is way beyond him now. The man doesn’t need to be anywhere near power tools or sharp things. But, frankly, he’s starting to be so far out of it, in a couple of months, it may not even come up. We’ll see.

58 here this morning - GLORIOUS!!!

I just did some reading on febrile seizures, and we waaaaaaay overreacted. It said not to call 911 unless the seizure lasts more than 5 minutes. His was over in 1 or 2 at the outside. Anyway, he was just about back to his normal self last night according to his parents. My daughter is taking the day off to stay with him, and I expect to have him tomorrow. I now know what to do should it happen again.

Incidentally, he has a rhinovirus, so all this hubbub over a cold. Yes, I’m deliberately making light of it because I don’t need any more worries. But, seriously, from talking with the doctor and the nurse, I feel confident that it’s one of those things and no big deal. Of course, we’ll still watch him. That kid better strengthen his immune system post-haste, dagnabbit!!

What to do with a child-free day? Since the weather is so beautiful, I may futz in the yard. I should - the yard is a disaster area. But for now, I’m digesting breakfast and continuing caffeination. Besides, it’s still dark out, so chillage is permitted, nay, encouraged!

Happy Wednesday!

Well im down one elderly cat … not the black one , my aunts orange cat… the one who was the late “evil kitty”'s sister …we didn’t think she was going to make it through today and she didn’t and with all the other bs its pushed aunt over the edge… i hope her gentleman caller will help calm her down …

And as for the house thing well were trying but we have tons of stuff to hopefully sell cause were gonna need it …

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 57 (BRRR!) Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 86 and N.O.S. for the day. Today is procure provisions day, but we don’t need much. Thus, OYKW shall deal with that and I will deal with mowage. It will be a good day to spiff da yahds. Sup shall be the BLTs we didn’t do yestiddy.

Nettie hope you feel better today and that you get some answers from the doc on Firday.

Sunny glad you survived the procedure.

{{{Shades}}} sorry about the kitty. Hope the house situation works out for you soonest.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Good morning everyone.

It’s a very comfortable 60 degrees outside with an expected high of 72 and partly cloudy skies.

FCM, how scary! I’m glad the little man is okay.

sunny, I’m glad the procedure went well.

nettie, I hope you’re doing better today and that your doctor has answers and a way forward on Friday.

shady, I’m sorry about the kitty.

Ugh, I am really struggling with the resume for this position. The announcement closes tomorrow, so I need to get it done and sent in. I honestly think my chances are slim for a variety of reasons, but I am still going to apply because you can’t gripe about something you didn’t get if you don’t try for it. I have no idea if I’ll even make it to the interview, and I honestly believe one of the hiring officials has someone in mind. Furthermore, she’s sort of pigeonholed me, even though I’ve told her that what I do is not my passion and never has been. I came to this org on a sort of bait and switch but made the best of it. I moved on last year to this position to ready myself for something else. I miss being an analyst and feel all those skill sets going down the drain. The job I’m applying for is not really an analyst position, but it gets me closer to having a say in policy, interacting with external customers and stakeholders, being a real part of the org’s mission, and away from babysitting. The only downside is the supervisory portion of the job, which can be another form of babysitting, but those that I’d supervise are a good bunch and not overly difficult people. I know, I know, I’m not making the job sound very good, but it’s certainly better than what I do now, AND it’s a promotion. It’s hard to say when I’ll know anything.

VanGo, those doors are cool! I love that there is a secret hiding place behind them! Or, at least it appears that way.

Well, today is a three-cup day. I need to grab that third. I’ve been up since stupid o’clock, no thanks to the husband’s tossing, turning and scratching. I gave up and got out of bed at 2:45 so this is going to be a long and painful day.

Since we have a few tech-savvy types here, I have a question. This stuff about the DOJ taking the phones of folks close to Trump - what can they actually find? I’m assuming no one is stupid enough to keep all those old texts around, especially in light of investigations. But even if messages were wiped months ago, could they still be retrieved?

And no, I’m not worried about someone finding my old, deleted texts, unless they want to know how many times I replied “OK” to my daughter and/or SIL… That way lies madness!!! And this isn’t political - just inspired by a political story.

Babby update - he slept thru the night, tho Daughter and SIL kept waking up to make sure he was OK. This morning, he started getting a bit feverish, and refused his tylenol - my daughter mixed it in gatorade and practically forced him to take it. I had a sudden vision of dog pills in cheese… :open_mouth:

They’re taking him to the family doc today.

Morning all. Slept well and heading off to Walgreen’s to get double-shotted (flu and newest COVID booster) in about an hour. If I feel like it, swimmin’-n-sauna will follow.

{{{Nettie}}}, hope they pin down whatever is causing those light-headed spells, haven’t had one in awhile but used to get them when I stood up to fast from bending over/reaching down. Not your problem, but I know how scary it can be.

FCM, glad Toby is doing better, and better to panic early and often than to let things go, that’s my motto…

Taters, just do the best on the resume. Sometimes they word those applications towards another person’s strengths, but like you say, you’ll never know if you don’t try. Hope it works for you.

shady, sorry for your feline loss and hope auntie settles down.

Didn’t know Gordie was a boozehound…

BBBoo, since I’ve taken to showering at the gym on sauna days (because, sweat) I’ve learned to start using body/hair washers (up until this year I was solely a bar soap man), Using Dial 3-in-1, don’t know if it’s any good on hair because I have so little…

OK, need to watch the clock and get presentable for outdoors here shortly. All y’all take care.

Spousal unit uses that lately, tho he’ll still use regular shampoo. But now I have all this bar soap, since I bought him 8-packs. Not sure what we’ll do with it. Keep it for emergencies?

I’m showered and dressed. FIL and MIL are watching the Queen’s funeral procession on TV. FCD went to CVS to check on his dad’s refill. I think when they go to see the money guy, I’ll ride along, then take the car and go to WalMart, since I need kitty litter and I just used the last of the dog food this morning to refill Higgs’ dispenser. So maybe no yard work after all.

I think I know why this puzzles us sometimes. This is strictly non-partisan – it’s astonishing how stupid the wealthy and connected can be. We’ve had some limited interaction with them due to jobs n stuff, and their isolation from the normal problems of peasants leaves them incompetent when they lose the buffers protecting them from “real life”.

Good morning everyone. 69F outside, supposed to be mid-90s today. All the biped medical procedures are complete, and now we start on the quadrupeds. My dog is on a limited diet to prepare for his upcoming anesthesia, and is confused why the humans are so selfish with treats. I guess there’s no way to tell him, so just extra scritches today.

Also on the agenda; repair our knocked over mailbox. We’ve lived here almost 30 years, and our mailbox has never been hit. Then it’s knocked over by errant autos twice in 6 months. I wonder what gives? I’ll try to go over the security camera tapes later today. Last time was a contractor across the street who was incompetent to handle his trailer. This seemed to happen late last night, so I’m betting alcohol and an unguided F150 are the more likely suspects. We shall see.

Hope everyone has a good day today.

Not exactly slow cooker weather but the Jewels store had used meat so I have country ribs in the crock pot. That will be dinner plus frozen leftovers and who doesn’t appreciate not having to thing what’s for dinner. Watched the Queen’s procession into Westminster Hall. Yesterday I cleaned the bathroom and my room. Today is the kitchen.

I’m all for saving a buck, but… what??

I believe FCMor swampy coined that phrase. It refers to meat that has been marked down cuz the expiration date is close. In my case it was buy one, get one free.

I call it ‘Buy It Before It Rots’ meat.
