There are bristle worms in marine aquariums that will eat rotting fish.
One must have some ethics.
My friend Eddy had a heart attack while walking the tread mill at his physician’s office.
The Doctor’s office called an ambulance. Not a confidence builder. I never asked Eddy what they talked about while waiting for the ambulance to arrive.
I hear you on that.

[li]Last weekend: 21 hr day in NY[/li][li]This weekend: long weekend in WV[/li][li]1st weekend in Nov: 5 hrs of driving in an 18-20 hr day to NJ/NY[/li][li]2nd weekend in Nov: CT[/li][li]3rd week in Nov: 5-6 hr drive day trip to NE PA / NW NJ (weather permitting)[/li][li]4th week in Nov: the craziness that is Thanksgiving - NJ/NY/NJ[/li][/ul]
December - go nowhere!!!
(Now you see why I don’t get another dog; from June - Nov I’m away at least 2 weekends a month.)
I ran over to the Maul at lunch. I need to buy a lot of new pants (& shorts) as the old ones don’t fit anymore. I am much closer to triple the age of a HS graduate than that of a HS graduate but the jeans I bought today are the same size as what I wore in HS!!! (I don’t own a scale so I have no idea how much weight I’ve lost but it’s multiple inches.)
Our bags are packed and we’re going out for Chinese for supper. House sitter will get here around 8 or so.
I think we’re ready.
FCM…bon voyage!!
Be safe.
Bags are in the car. In the morning, we just need to put our toiletries into the tote, gas up the car, and drive to Baltimore. We’ll leave between 9 & 10 so we’ll be aboard for lunch. Maybe then I’ll be able to start to wind down.
butters, maybe your new mom can bring the baby to irk with her to keep Louie company.
metal mouse, you should be able to YouTube your repair and go through it step by step. Don’t ask how I know this.
spideym that can of possum is fake  Everybody knows that you wouldn’t have possum with raccoon gravy because the season is different.
Feel better soonest swampy!
Bon voyage Moooom!
I think Nelson’s problem yesterday was that he wasn’t feeling well. He didn’t play like usual and he wanted to be a lap puppy most of the evening.
Last night was chilly enough that I pulled the quilt over my legs and Nelson dived under the covers sooner than usual. I am being stubborn about turning the heat on yet.
Irk should be pretty light for the next two days. Most of my department will either be in Louisville or Toronto. It’s just us reconcilers and the geeks holding down the fort. We’ll be bizzy with the aftermath next week.
Could you tell my wife?
I’ve eaten [del] a salt block in the shape of a fish[/del] lutefisk, (my first wife was Norwegian) but not college cafeteria lutefisk. I’m not afraid of much, but that scares me.
So, I went to Home Depot to get the brackets for the mini split and they don’t have them in the store. The guy I finally asked where they were said I could order them online and they could ship them to the store for free. Then I could drive down and pick them up. Since I can buy them cheaper on line from Amazon and they will ship them to our house, for free, I declined his nice offer. :dubious:
They’re ordered. Be here Monday.
You are a wise man.
I did not know you could get college cafeteria lutefisk outside of Scandinavia. I must lead a sheltered life.
Mooommm have fun!
Spidey congrats on your [del]disgusting[/del] inspiring level of personal fitness.
Our fridge remains broken. Candidly I think the repair guy extra broke it while trying to fix it. The new things that were broken today, during the service call, can’t be replaced because they don’t make the parts any more. I signed up for a guaranteed repair plan when I called Sears to repair this, so it looks like I’ll be getting a new fridge. Yay, I guess? I’d rather they had competent repair people in the first place, but at least they’re covering the damage he caused.
Worked, came home, walked Gordie. Making Shichimi Togarashi Bachelor Chow for dinner. And beer.
Fine, he can play with himself. : nudge, nudge, wink wink :
:dubious: That make Kæstur Hákarl sound appetizing.
Enjoy the vacation, Mooooommmmm!!!
Feel better, Nelson!
December is Santa Season and since a natural beard and having my own suit puts me in the $30+ an hour range, and some private parties can get into mid-three-figures …
Heck, what Da Jungle pays hardly covers my ammunition so I gotta do something productive.
It gets better or worse depending on how you look at it since the college in question was St. Olaf. :smack: Ufda!!!
Oh, forgot. Someone left a Chick Tract wrapped around some Smarties on my windshield. I tossed the candy and kept the tract.
Ruble, St. Olaf in Minnesota? They play their music on WCPE.
Naturally, I woke at 1:30 and barely slept till 5. ugh. But I’ve walked Robert thru the critters’ morning routine and I scooped the cat box. Ziva bolted thru the open bedroom door and she’s hiding under the bed. I’d already decided to leave our bedroom open while we’re gone, so she’ll come out when Robert is at work or asleep.
He showed up with his computer - the tower, etc, not a laptop. He’s a gamer. 'Nuff said.
Part of the reason I couldn’t fall back to sleep is that I thought of a couple of things I forgot to pack. I’m up now, and when the kid leaves for work, I’ll hit the shower and gather up the rest of the stuff to be packed. Thank goodness no airlines are involved so I don’t have to sweat the weight of the bags.
Dunno if I’ll get a chance to post again before we leave. If not, be good and use the coasters! Happy Thursday!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 54 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 82 and N.O.S. for the day I feel so much better this mornin’. I took the new meds for the second time last night and had no trouble with sleep. Maybe it was just me adjustin’ to them. Today I work on spiffin’ da cave. I even feel like it so yay! I shall roast up some chikin laigs, steam some asparagus, and have baked sweet N.O.T. for suppage. Should be good.
red I agree! Everybody knows canned possum comes in a sweet N.O.T. sauce!
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. As I motivate I shall purtify up bit and begin cave cleanin’.
MOOOOOOM in case I don’t get back here before y’all leave, have a great vacation!
Happy Thursday Y’all!
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.
Bon Voyage, Moooommmm!!!
And I always use coasters.
Good morning everyone!
I’m glad you’re feeling better today, Swampy.
Well, we are going on a field trip today. We will be outside and the weather should be perfect. The only issue is that my foot is hurting a bit. I had to run after a student yesterday. I suppose this is the problem.
OK, it’s time. I’m going to hit the shower, get dressed, and try to remember the last few things I need to pack. Then off we go. I’ll be back Oct 28 - don’t cry too hard while I’m absent!!
MWAH!!!***
My friend I mentioned was at last night’s rehearsal, and is fine. He said he’s off Facebook for the time being because he found he was wasting too much time on it. So things are good.
