I used this kind and never lost one. I don’t know if this is what you had?

Yay for voting! If it’s one thing we’ve learned here it’s vote early [del](and vote often)[/del]. Following up by drinking is also wise.

Where exactly were you and why were there whistles and such? Clearly, a cowbell (or two) would have been just what was wanted. More cowbell! (I have a cowbell story for another time.)

It’s raining here in Orygun, so I think my lawn will not get mowed. Congrats to those of you who adulted. This is the last day of “real” school. After this, the kids have assorted days of goofing off of various sorts. I think it’s so the grading can get done, but I’m not completely clear on that. School ends next week. 'Beamette has been asked to join the robotics team, and 'Beamer has been asked to join the advanced science class. It hasn’t been a perfect school year, but not so bad for moving to a new school either.

Hubby is muttering that he should have taken the day off so he could watch the testimony and play drinking games. I think I shall be content to watch the clips later. I can’t imagine watching 8 straight hours.

Happy Thorsday all.

Happy Thorsday!

It’s a beautiful, bright, N.O.S. day out today. I thought it was supposed to rain?
Looks like that forecast has been changed, today is the last cool day for a while and no rain is coming. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 80s, and then the temps jump to the 90s.

For now I’m going to enjoy the open windows and the cool breeze.

I didn’t sleep well last night and am still a bit blurfy this morning. The cat was being a pest, even whacked me with his claws a few times for attention.
I’d like to take a nap but I don’t really have time for one.

I have burgered and beered. All is well.

Lunch has been ingested. Back to work.

work work work work work work…

Harump.

blurf My network computer is still hung up on an install day #3 but I did get all my data moved from old dead laptop to this here windows 10 (hate it) machine. So, I have spent the day so far watching the Comey hearing. Sen. John McCain, bless his heart, was having an episode of dementia.

So I have declared a work stoppage with my computer out of commission. It all pays the same, it all pays the same…

Home - **FCD **mowed!! So I don’t have to. Ergo, tomorrow I shall mulch!

Supper tonight is grab whatever.

That pretty much sums things up.

I need to relate this, and don’t know whee else to put it.

Think about your little girl, and when you come home, she has a hilarious joke she has been dying to tell you all day. Think of the smile on her face when she sees you iin anticipation. Hold that thought.

Last week, I changed flights in Port of Spain, Trinidad, a couple of times. The nicest place to eat at the airport is outside in a food court, where there is an Arabian-Caribbean place that serves out of a little window. Both times, I went out there to order, and both times, in the window, That Smile, on a teenage girl in Muslim dress and hijab. I’m a complete stranger and her smile lights up the world. Her name is Asmaa.

The second time I was there, a few hours after eating, I went and asked if they had ice cream. No but there is a shop in the airport, but I explained that every time I went past, it always seemed to be closed. Sorry. Now, the chairs in the food court are the most comfortable chars within a mile of Pialco airport, and I still had hours before my flight. Half dozing, I heard this lovely musical voice behind me. “We’re going inside, can we bring you some ice cream?” Sure. What kind. I don’t care. OK. A few minutes later here comes Asmaa, with a styrotub of 350 ml ice cream. “Here you go, no charge”. I insisted on paying for it as she had to pay for it. Oh, it was 29TT, I guess that’s about 3 dollars (it’s actually four and change). I gave her four dollars. OK, and she danced back to work.

Look. She probably makes less than ten dollars a day, working ten hours in the shop. This young woman with a time-stopping smile, out of the unalloyed sweetness of her heart, was prepared to give a complete (and rich) stranger ice cream as a gratuitous gift, that she had just paid a half a day’s wages for.

There are such people. I wept.

sunny, that’s the kind of badge clip that I use. It yo-yos to scan various entrance points. The company offers both those and lanyards.

Today was spirit day at irk, complete with a catfish throw. I managed 12 feet, but the winner on days was 26 feet. Not bad for a ~12 pound fish. :stuck_out_tongue:

GO PREDS!

Howdy Y’all! OYKW called me this afternoon and said he needed to go to :eek:WallyWorld:eek: after irk for some stuff for his orifice and suggested I go with him and mentionin’ we could eat at Chili’s which is right by there. Not bein’ one to turn down free food (and I had not started to make dindin) I agreed. We ordered appetizers as dindin, specifically, hot spinach and artichoke dip, southwestern aig rolls, classic nachos, and fried cheese. He’d had a rough day so I told him to have a beer or two and I’d be the DD. He had three, thus he was pleasantly buzzed walkin’ around :eek:WallyWorld:eek:.

jtur88 that is indeed a story to warm the heart cockles.

jtur that was a lovely story.

Red they sell a version of that badge clip that has a carabiner clipinstead of the simple clip. It should be more secure. Maybe that would be an option?

I met with the Talented and Gifted advisor at my daughter’s school today. Turns out they enrolled her in the program last Fall, but we were never notified. :smack:

Worked, came home, walked Gordie. Making chipolte BBQ chicken with saffron rice, and getting ready to watch the game. Drinking a Mother Earth Berliner Weisse

Good thing you didn’t have a fever.

The Phantom of the Opera and Dr. McCoy were in the Wanted, Dead or Alive episode I just watched.

swampy, buzzed is the best way to walk around :eek:Wally World

Where one usually is when pomping & circumstancing.

Where are they supposed to go? Drinking?
Iffn they’re gonna do that, they need to catch up because the** Flightless Boids** are already a six-pack ahead of 'em!

I was drinking a different berliner weisse, as you already saw.

Get outta here!
Now!

Don’t waste time startin’ the truck, just start Walken.

Blurf. Gonna call it a day. One more. I think i can.

Slept til 6-ish. I’ve got a load of sheets in the washer and I’m having a bagel and cream cheese for breakfast. It’s quite cool out, and I don’t expect to say that again till Sept or Oct. Alas…

Happy Firday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 63 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 87 and N.O.S. for the day. Nice! Looks like real Summer weather is makin’ a return. No big plans for the day. I need to take care of some errands this mornin’. We’re goin’ to Cheddar’s for dindin tonight just cause. I kinda like Cheddar’s. Some quality pool time at the cee-mint pond time may happen as well. Haven’t done that due to the cooler, rainy weather this week. Retirement is tough but I do what I have to do.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I suppose I should purtify so as to go about the public.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Sheets on the line, jeans in the washer, **FCD **on the way to work because he’s apparently incapable of not working…

One more load of laundry after the jeans, then I’ll head out to do some mulching. Good times!

Irksome irkday for me, running reports and getting myself thoroughly confused about what’s what.

Anyway, 'tis Friday and I am out of here in just under 4hrs for the weekend so that is something to look forward to. I’m trying to get a bunch of reports finished so they’re ready for next week’s scrutiny meetings but of course that won’t happen because we are still missing a few marks for things. Ho hum.
