Up earlier than is normal. Been up a while. Walked the dog and gathered the trash to go out. Trying to remember passwords with no luck. Now I have to get the vehicle identification number off my car to be able to make a payment. That means writing and pen and paper and its not even due yet so I i will put it off. Thank God It’s Firday. This has been one wasted week that I will never get back.

I would call in aggravated except it is payroll day and I just know my people want to be paid.

All you retirees and mooooommm just don’t know how lucky you are.

Happt Firday! Even Boofae only has a few more hours. I have 10 and 1/2 if I decide to stay all day. Including commute.

That’s cute :). I’m leaving here at 0540 and will be lucky to get home anywhere near 2000 (if DH just scoops me up at irk, otherwise could be as late as 2200), especially with scheduled service issues on the train.

Yes, I did masochistically volunteer for two hours of overtime today. I’ll be doing it again tomorrow too.

Blurf.

Managed not to mow the lawn yesterday, but I really, really am going to do it today…

Still waiting to hear about my new windows, guy said they’d be ready in a week, it’s now been 9-10 days…I’ll give them 2 weeks before I call.

Nettie, Butters that’s a rough schedule. Take care.

Last Firday the alarm was (intentionally) set for 4:15; somehow it was not turned off for this Firday.

Waiting for the load of towels to finish washing so I can get them out on the lines. I finally got around to disassembling the racks in the smoker - they’re in hot, soapy water right now. I’ll clean them, then mulch.

Oh, my exciting life…

I managed to motivate, purtify, and go take care of a couple of errands. Now I am at da cave and will remain in sloth mode just cause I can.

Four loads of laundry are on the line. The dishwasher is finishing its load. The innards of the smoker have been scrubbed. Not bad for being up 4 hours. Go me!

Now I need motivation to start mulching. Wonder where I left it…

Today I learned that Coke Zero is going to be phased out, despite it being by far the most popular of the alternative Coke flavours out there, and in some markets more popular than the original Coke. It will be replaced by Coke No Sugar (a terrible name), which is said to taste the same as original Coca Cola.

This seems like a huge marketing error to me.

Happy Firday!

I’m ready to kill cat. He woke me again last night. I pet him a little and told him to go back to sleep but he didn’t listen. He started getting into everything he knows he is supposed to leave alone, purposely I’m sure, until I got up and took the things away from him.
I know Jackson says you should not yell at your cat, so I hissed my words. I scared Adam for all of about 2 seconds, then he was back rubbing around my feet. Then after waking me up, making me get up, pissing me off, and making me chase him to get a window clip and a pen from him, he jumped back up on his pillow and went back to sleep.
He is still asleep.

I am blurfy and grumpy.

It’s already a very bright N.O.S. It’s 63 degrees outside, so a good time to open the windows and enjoy the fresh air while I still can. After today the temps soar up into the 90s.

Not much on the agenda for today. It’s payday, but I took care of everything yesterday. I have to irk, and order groceries to pick up tomorrow, and maybe I can drag the son out to get a little yard irk done before the heat wave hits us.

Isn’t that fun when that happens.

One of the bad things about switching to directv is that I don’t get those channels anymore.

I also miss the Brittish shows I was watching.
However, as long as I don’t mind reading the sub titles, I’ve started watching a few Italian shows, a French one, and one I think that is German.

I’ve scratched my ivy rashes so much I got bruises (not a difficult task for me) so I took half a Benadryl this morning. Now I have the brain fog. Managed to get an hour’s worth of writing done and that’s all I can do. The fun part is going to be this afternoon when I have to drive two towns up to get to Aldi since the local one shut down its freezer section on Monday.

I have a problem I am going to have to face sooner or later. It is an employee issue. I could just scream at this point. deep, calm, cleansing breaths.

I shall now partake of N.O.L. and then engage in some quality cee-mint pond time. I will not wait an hour after I eat before jumpin’ in either. I am a rebel!

Butters employee problems (or the lack thereof) are one of the big reasons I am so glad to be retired. Hope you get the situation resolved soonest.

BatBoy Coke apparently still has not learned its lesson from when it tried to change the formula back in the 80s.

I remember NEW COKE and how dreadful it was.

swampy, it’s a whole new generation of executives there, so they probably think this is a ‘bold new idea’. Don’t much care, I’m a Pepsi man myself.

Butters, that is one reason I never went past GS-13, because I would have to be a manager, and all the accompanying hassle and drama that goes with it. Kudos to you that you do it so well, but it can be wearing…

BigKitty, take care driving. Can the trip wait for tomorrow?

Sari, I never owned a cat, but remember meeting my brothers’ feline for the first time. She was affectionate and let me pet her and all, then rolled over and when I went to scritch her belly, the little minx bit me…and then ran off! Decided that day I’d never own a cat.

Front yard mowed and waiting for the sun to dry up the back yard a bit more (it’s on the west side and in shade most of the morning, so the dew lasts awhile). Almost had hassenfeffer as I was mowing, a baby rabbit popped out of the grass just in front of the mower and took off. Was extra careful with the rest of the front yard but didn’t see anymore rabbits. No idea where the youngling ran off to. Add to that two frogs spotted in the initial circuit of the back yard (where I made the decision to wait) and just maybe I let the grass grow a little too much…

Rehydrating now.

Butters, that is one reason I never went past GS-13, because I would have to be a manager, and all the accompanying hassle and drama that goes with it. /QUOTE]Same for me. I figured out long ago that I am not management material, nor did I want to learn to be. It worked well for me.

We ran to Red Robin for lunch, then stopped at the hardware store so FCD could get some brass for a project he’s working, then on last stop at the Amish market for 'maters and cauliflower.

Now, off to futz outside for a bit.

Thank Goodness I only have four employees with one already on the way out. The problematic one is a fairly new hire who has been here under a year. She just gets under my skin at every opportunity. I must start the long drawn out process of documenting it so I can take action. She is currently a flex employee but wants the full time position that is coming up. She has shown me nothing to keep her around. She is dependable and honest but just does not take initiative to do a damn thing extra. I have to hound her.

I sent her on a trip to Disney World for training last month and she was required to do an after action report so I can get the $1000 grant from HQ to offset her travel. I thought it was done then I get an email from the region asking for it. I asked her had she done it and she said no. I told her I wanted it TODAY. I then provided her with a copy of one I did last year for the same trip. I also gave her the copy prior to the trip. This is something she should be able to bang out in 10 minutes. When I asked when she planned to do it I got the dreaded blank stare. I later called her in my office and asked her if she knew why I needed it. It would have never been done had the region not put us on a dink list. That is the second time I have had to apologize for this employee. I don’t like to apologize for shit I didn’t do.

I bought some when I was spending some time at a lady’s house. A phone survey asked me why I bought it, and I said, “I needed something to mix with rum.”

I’ve planted a lily, 2 liriopes, and a geranium. Mulching will ensue tomorrow - I just don’t want to deal with it now. I have a dishwasher to empty, a smoker to reassemble, and 4 loads of laundry on the lines that will have to come in and be folded and put away before supper. Plus it’s time to get some eggs boiling for deviling. So no mulching today.

Wonder what’s on Netflix???

Kidding. Off to the kitchen with me. rah.

I’m gonna miss vanilla coke zero and cherry coke zero. I don’t care for regular cola flavored soda at all. Apparently the Coca Cola company has become infested with business school graduates. That’s too bad. Maybe they caught them from Sears?

Butters, you have my condolences. I ran an I.T. department once. Imagine a bunch of employees with bad attitudes who are smarter than the average bear. It was like herding cats.

I think I’m going to replace my fitbit charge hr with a charge 2. I like pretending to know my sleep patterns and heart rate, and the charge 2 is one of the few fitbits that doesn’t have a warning to pacemaker users that they may interfere with their pacemakers.
Riddle me this; if you produced a product that could possibly interfere with a persons heart rhythm, possibly resulting in them having a cardiac event, which would you do; Modify your product so that it didn’t do that anymore, or post a warning in an inconspicuous place?
Eventually there is going to be a problem, and resultant lawsuit. Fitbit’s lawyers saying “well, we warned you!” isn’t going to counter the negative publicity all that well, I don’t think.
Business school graduates again, I think.
Hmmmm. I’m not seeing the warning anymore. Maybe they did fix it. We’ll see.
Anyway, Fred Meyer’s has them on sale this week.

MetalMouse many cats like to use the rub my belly so I can shred your hand trick. Adam likes his belly rubbed but I still have to be careful, because one day 10 rubs is the correct number and the next day’s number may be 3.

I finally got the air intake vent in the living room vacuumed. I can’t pick it up, so Sah-son had to lift it out for me, and he vacuumed too. He argues with me about doing it, but I tell him the cleaner the vent is the less often he has to change the furnace filter. He says he will change the filter tonight since we’ll have to turn the AC on tomorrow. I don’t know why the vent is in the floor, but that is where it is and it is always full of dust and pet hair. The moulding on top the bead board in the kitchen has been wiped. Now I’m working on fetching the cat toys out from under the couch and dusting the baseboards back there. I feel so productive today, but really we should be outside getting stuff done.
