Patiently? lol
The fish is thawed. I made guacamole. There’s margarita makings. I’m having a Corona with a lime in it.
It’s not even 1530 yet, so we’ll have fish tacos in an hour or so!
The Kroger stores around here are doing that when they remodel too.
nettie, years ago, with a case of late night munchies, my SIL made me a grilled peanut butter and spam sandwich. It hit the spot. ![]()
baker, it sounds like you have somewhere that bats are getting in. Growing up, we used to get them all of the time too. The trick to getting them out is to turn off all of the lights except for the room that they’re in, then turn on the lights in the next room and turn them off in the first room. Lather, rinse and repeat until they’re out the door on your lighted porch, then turn off the porch light so they can join their fellow bats at the street light.
Mooooooom, if you run out of meat in the freezer, I can give you instructions for cleaning and preparing squirrel. ![]()
hippy, I didn’t work in a slaughterhouse, but a packing plant. For the first year, I worked out on the plant floor. I know what goes into your chicken sandwich and nuggets. ![]()
Irked, came home, walked Nelson, introduced him to the neighbor’s 8 week old pit bull/great dane mix (he’s about half Nelson’s size now, he’ll need a saddle when he’s grown) and fixed bimbimbap for supper. Once KP is done, I’ll play in the studio for a while.
Stay healthy y’all!
Evening all. Except for getting the mail, nothing much done today except watching Amazon and some other programming on the 'puter and, for variety, a couple of hours watching TV. Did get my car tag/tax renewal notice, I can either go in and get it or mail it in. They will charge me $2.00 for mail service and since I live only 3 miles from the place, I’ll save a stamp and go next week.
Rained a bit this afternoon and the temperature is going down (68F at the moment), so should be a comfortable night.
Red, had to look up bimbimbap, never had heard of it. Y’all spend time in Korea once??
Bumba, you needed to tell wifey how you found a clog behind the watchimacallit next to the Rube Goldberg piping and using a speical tool of your own devising, fixed things so that they run perfectly…
Everybody take care now. Back to the Grand Tour.
Howdy Y’all! We ordered and et Mexican comestibles and had margaritas, so Cinco De Mayo celebrated. OLÈ! Oh and laundry got done.
MOOOOOOM sounds like RoxStar knows the true meanin’ of bdays.
Sari and Dot have taken a commandin’ lead for TMI of the week post! Gonna be tough to top that one folks!
Gawd, damn! Every time I eat fish, I think ‘I wanna eat fish every day!’
Sahirrnee, you do have a place for that weird Tuna.
It’s called ADAM…
Dorothy, I enjoy polymer clay when I have time and energy.
Arrived at irk to find over 2k calls waiting. By the time I left, we were around 400. I hatehatehate supporting that crappy app with crappy documentation and about zero access to any info we need for troubleshooting without picking on a sup, one of whom decided it was a great idea to be unavailable for quite some time training some of her pets on a new task that I would be more qualified for and better at than several of the ones I saw in her group. ONE sup cannot handle 50 agents needing help with their calls, dammit! I had one poor woman on hold for over 15 minutes waiting for sup help. I was getting close to tears from utter frustration and shame at how horrible this call had to be for her.
Add to that the dozen Spanish calls I got hit with that should NOT have been in web assist (these were basic calls the original agents damn well should have handled instead of dumping them to a totally inappropriate queue and inflicting lots more hold time on the call), which had me dealing with our interpreter service way too much. If anyone opens their mouth about my stats today, it will be all I can do to keep the language professional while I’m explaining how totally out of line that is given the calls I was getting hit with and the total lack of manglement support. I’m wondering how many at Hades Annex can even SPELL “professional environment”.
Good thing more chocolate chip cookie lurks in the kitchen. Also good that Jungle deliveries arrived today. I am now in possession of a quart of aloe vera gel, which can hopefully be converted to DIY hand sanitizer without the bizarre results I got on previous tries with the juice and trying to thicken that with xanthan.
Sounds good, but the neighbors might get discombobulated if I start potting squirrels from the sunroom. ;)![]()
metal mouse, I’ve never been to Korea, but like their food.
Bimbimbap is an easy dish to do planned leftovers, so I made some up Saturday. Tonight, I got the little storage bowls with the rice, spinach, carrots, bulgogi, scallions, cucumbers and kimchi out, nuked the hot stuff, fried an egg to go on top and spooned the vegetation on top of the hot food. Good stuff.
Hair salons are a “Phase 3” business here, and we haven’t even started up Phase 2. No idea how many more months before PWAISDN will be back to work.
We filed a “pandemic unemployment” claim for him last week, and are uncomfortably unsure if it actually went through. EDD is utterly swamped and getting through on the phone is impossible. I sent them a fax today. Maybe that will get some attention. Hopefully.
UPS’ routing is goofy. I’m expecting a box. I saw the truck turn the wrong way away from my house at 11 this morning, and it’s not come back to the neighborhood yet. I’ve been watching the truck’s progress on the UPS website, and it’s practically on the other side of town. No idea when it will get back here. Hopefully they don’t leave it on the truck and take it back to the depot tonight.
3rd time we’ve cooked Venison in a week. The guys are happy. The kids don’t care, they’ll eat anything.
Me and the girls are eating more Veg.
But, tonight Mid-daughter braised a Venison roast with lots & LOTS, of garlic. It smelled like Italy in here all afternoon.
It sliced nicely, it smelled great. The gravy was perfect. I was enjoying a few bites. The girls were munching.
Hamza sez, "This tastes like Goatmeat. My grandmother used to make it.
Every female adult ‘gagged’ audibly.
Big Wrek says aloud, “Looks like there will be enough venison leftover for sandwiches!”
:smack:
nothing wrong with goat meat …if you grew up in or around a Latino/Hispanic community you’ve tried it once or twice …but if you don’t slow roast it it can get a bit chewy…

<hissy fit smiley> My package is on the way to the depot. At least it’s not something perishable or urgent like medicine.
That looks pretty good, actually. Thx. (:))
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis <snerk> 69! <snerk> Amurrkin out and partly cloudy with a predicted high of 80 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. We shall lay in some provisions today. Always a fun time. I shall go to Sam’s whilst OYKW makes a run to the Pubic Sto’. Before OYKW retired, I would have done both, which necessitated go to one, bring all the perishables back to da cave to store, and then go do the other. I like, a lot, not havin’ to do that now. We shall sup on the shrimpies and sallit. Actually we may N.O.L. on 'em. A major decision must be made.
I like goat. Like Shades said, 'twill be kinda tough unless slow cooked, but I find it quite tasty. Haven’t had any in a long time. I do like me some BBQ goat.
gotti appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed that PWAISDN gets unemployment. Also here’s hopin’ UPS figures out how to deliver your package today.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, bother, alas, alack, and woe of woes, I suppose I should purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire.
Happy Hump Day Y’all!
It is delicious. Those guys have 800 or so videos
