OK, I'll Start The MMP

Had my teleconference with the doctor.
She thinks I may have had the corona last week. I don’t think so, but she wants me to get tested for the antibodies when it becomes available.
If I did have it, it was pretty damn mild. Nothing like when I had the flu.
I had chills, headache, sore throat, and slept a lot.
I guess we’ll see when the test comes up this way.

**gotti **- the brown ninjas (love it!!) may or may not ring the bell here. Depends on the driver, I think. One thing I’ve noticed - they no longer drive up my driveway - they stop in the street and walk up. I can’t see that it’d be a time-saver, but what do I know…

Supper was pretty good - no leftovers, and I should have made half again as much. I keep forgetting that SIL eats like a teenage boy. But he’ll feed himself later, I’m sure. Now I think I’ll clean some strawberries for snackage.

It rained, and it’s supposed to rain again tonight. squish squish squish

beck, I like goat meat. The LatinX and middle eastern restaurants around here do it up in some really good dishes.

Mooooooooooom, you could use the rib meat to make tacos. Kind of a late Cinco de Mayo. :stuck_out_tongue:

hippy, actually, the stuff that hit the floor went to the dog food plant. The meat that we got in was actually a higher grade than what you buy from the grocery store. Depending on the customer, anything from TVP to chicken skins are also ground in the ground products. The whole muscle stuff got some interesting marinade (ask sometime about having a bucket of it dumped on me in 42F shop floor).

Good luck shoe!

Irked, came home, walked the dog and et supper. I’m taking the Excel course work in with me tomorrow, as it will likely be a slow day. In addition to the online stuff, there’s a hard copy book.

My new table and chairs were delivered today. I’ll unbox Saturday when I will have time to put them together, otherwise, I would have to make a trip to the hardware to replace something I’ve lost. :stuck_out_tongue: After KP, it’s kick back in the studio.

Stay healthy y’all!

Evening all. Did make it out to Wal-Mart for a couple of items and nappage was accomplished, but nothing else exciting. Mowage is planned for tomorrow along with getting the garbage out before the truck comes by.

Sari, probably should get Sah-son tested too (if possible) for the virus.

Nettie, is Management taking action to get them idiots out of there? Sounds like they are more trouble than they are worth.

Becks, nice work with the youngn’s…and I liked your story with the little one eating ‘berries’ outside and your practical solution when others were panicking.

All y’all take care.

Dunno if they’re likely to be invited to move out. I doubt the manager would tell me, and I don’t think it’s really my business any more than she probably would. As long as they quit disrupting my life, I don’t care if they stay or leave. They just need to can it with the loud bass, late-night balcony yelling, and plumbing stupidity. I’m sure the manager’s going to have some lively words with them about this morning’s “memory lapse” that leaves me with a nice hole in my bathroom ceiling for an extra few days (and I’m hoping the cat doesn’t figure out getting up into that hole!). The very nice maintenance gents were MAD about that.

Ugh… PWAISDN got a mailbox full of letters from the EDD today, one of which saying he needs to send them clear copies of his driver’s license and various other identity-proving documents. I can only assume this is because he’s not in their system at all otherwise, having been self-employed for a couple decades.

Every time I go for a walk during this COVID crisis, I grade my fellow pedestrians. It’s a group grade, even though I don’t normally believe in those. Today they get an F. Not only was I the only one who veered, but several times people were walking in groups of 3-5, and I’m sure they weren’t related or roomies. Once I couldn’t veer into the street due to traffic, and two women actually stopped and tried to chat! I think I inadvertently entered a time warp to last summer.

Despite that, I did enjoy the walk. It always amazes me how many places we can go just by putting one foot in front of the other.

red, sounds like a modern version of The Jungle. Ever since someone I know had to repair equipment at a pickle factory, I’ve been uneasy about working conditions.

Moooom, when there are no leftovers, I stress that I didn’t make enough. When there are leftovers, I wonder if maybe it didn’t taste so good. I’m sure you’re less neurotic. Or Italian.

Nettie, 90+ degrees sounds awful! Yikes. It may not be your business if management kicks those hooligans out, but it certainly affects you, so I hope they leave. I wish apartment complexes offered Stupid Loud and Quiet buildings. Or maybe there should be whole complexes devoted to either Loud or Quiet. Guess which ones would be more welcome.

Our temperatures will be record lows this weekend. My tomatoes will not like that. I’ll need to cover them.
I have some landscape fabric on a roll. Somewhere out in the barn. Big Wrek is excavating, looking for it. Normally I would just use newspapers but I only take the Sunday paper and I’ve not saved them, anyway.
I do not wanna lose my Tomatoes.

Made Italian chicken for dinner. The new Aldi opened up in the old Kroger spot. Gonna check it out tomorrow, before the states open up and Zombie Plague 2.0 starts.

If it was, glad it was mildish. I got a couple of friendsa in the hospital from it.:frowning:

“Did you like to play ring and run as a child? UPS is hiring!”

I’d sure go for the Quiet building. I work in a call center and have to put up with a lot of noise all day. Peace and quiet, with or without background music to fit my mood, is necessary for my mental health, such as it is. The Wretched Hive (condo complex on the other side of our apartment complex fence) used to be horrendously loud, but they seem to have calmed down a bit in recent months. I think we noticed that before Covid.

For my two-adult household, leftovers are simply a normal culinary condition, since not a lot of recipes are geared to two portions, and I fail to see the point of going to the hassle of prep and cleanup without getting as many meals as I can out of it. DH thinks many foods are better as leftovers, after thinking things over in the fridge for a day or so. He probably has a point.

Tonight’s dinner wasn’t gourmet, but we liked it. Beef rice-a-roni (well, store-brand equivalent) with ground beef and corn kernels added, plus enough brown gravy to get it to the desired consistency. Amazingly, about half the batch is now in the fridge, packed in reasonable grab-and-zap servings. I’d thought we’d get more than 4 servings from the quantity made. Guess not.

DH is lobbying for stuffed bell peppers. Problem here is that I can’t stand the smell of the things. I’ve told him that I’ll prep the filling, he can do the assemble-and-bake while I’m at work. It’s now on him to find a recipe.

ROFL! Other delivery services are getting good at that, too. The Jungle doesn’t always bother with the Ring step.

If I don’t have leftovers, I generally consider it to be a miracle! Altho when it was just my sweetie and me, I got to be pretty good at judging how much to make. And I don’t mind leftovers - in fact, they often become Roxy’s lunch the next day(s). And I agree, some things are definitely better after a stay in the fridge - like sketty sauce, soups, and stuffed cabbage.

Up stupid early again. I’m finishing breakfast. We’ll have to leave in about an hour for our Baltimore adventure. I’m going along for company, and I’m taking my tablet so I have something to do while he’s being tested and bled. So you likely won’t hear from me again till late afternoon. Be brave!

Happy Thursday!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 48 Amurrkin out and N.O.S. with a precicted high of 75 and N.O.S. for the day. This is definitely cooler than normal weather for these parts. Don’t know what the day will hold. I think it will be a day of sloth and Netflix. Sup shall be burgers ‘n fixin’s and fries, just cause. I am considerin’ callin’ to get an appointment to get sheared next week. Tired of bein’ shaggy. I told OYKW we should do that separately what with the rules and guidelines in place for that kinda stuff.

Shoe appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re the potential new gig.

Everyone else, I read, but retention is low, so yays, boos, hugs, trouts, chitlins, noogies, and how you doin’s all around, as needed.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Morning all. 51F heading for 70F and clear, but 70% chance of rain tomorrow, so if the lawn is going to get mowed it’ll be today (can’t decide if I should bag it or mulch it). Mail is coming late (like after 5pm so I got my water bill this morning when I took the garbage out. Will head over and pay it in person sometime this am.

I don’t have many leftovers, since (1) I’m single and (2) I hardly ever ‘cook’ things and then usually those have been measured for 1 person–when I want something like steak or chicken, I go out to eat.

Everyone have a good Thorsday.

I made chorizo-and-egg burritos on low-carb tortillas for lunch yesterday. I made plain scrambled eggs for Mrs. L.A.'s burritos. When dinner time came, she was still full from lunch and just snacked on chips and that guacamole I made. I found a piece of snapper in the freezer, so I hotted up a cast-iron frying pan and ‘grilled’ it with a little taco seasoning, in some olive oil. We’re out of vegetables, so I had a couple of the tine avocados on the side.

It was just like the fish tacos we had Tuesday – only without the tortilla. Or the cabbage. Or the lime. Or the sour cream sauce. Or the salsa. Otherwise, it was just like the fish tacos.

Happy Thorsday!

It’s a bright and brisk 41 degrees outside, supposed to get up into the mid 60s, with a freeze watch for overnight.

I got up early because yesterday the city posted on fb that they are opening up outdoor activities today. The golf course is open, as well as the playgrounds, tennis courts, boat ramps, camp sites, etc. What isn’t open is the dog park. I rode out there to see and the gate is still locked and the sign is still up.
That was the second annoyance of the morning, the first being that there was frost on my windshield.
Thee third annoyance is that my infotainment system is stuck on backup camera.

I looked it up online, restarting the truck may fix it. If that doesn’t work, holding the ‘home’ and ‘next’ buttons at the same time should reboot the system.

Hoping to get some yard irk done today. It should be nice out.

I love leftovers, it means I can go another day or two, or three, without having to cook something. Not having to cook is always a good thing.
I also love stuffed peppers.

Hope all goes well with FCD

Good Luck Shoe

I’m sorry about your friends Doggio
At this point I still don’t know anybody personally who has or has had it, unless I did.
A coworker of Lily’s mom had it. Didn’t know he had it because his only symptom was fatigue that lasted a few days.
My neighbor knows the first woman who died up here from it. My neighbor works with special needs children at the school and she worked the woman who died until she graduated from school.
Probably a good idea to get my son tested too MetalMouse. I told the doctor my son never got sick and she said 20% of the people who get have no symptoms at all.
Somebody new moved into the empty house across the street. I haven’t seen them yet, but there are new curtains in the windows.
It also looks like the big mouth buffoon and screaming banshee across the street are not getting along with their neighbor, as somebody put up a wall between their doors.
Along with yard irk, I have to call my insurance company to see why my premium wasn’t taken out of my account.

The weather has been nice, and the days are getting very long. I really want to go take some pictures. Like, I want to get out three of the all-mechanical cameras and have a ‘shoot-off’. I’d like to take out a couple of rangefinder cameras and compare them, too.

But… I’m very busy at work. I like pictures in urban or industrial settings, and I’m in a lovely beach-side community. (Hm… The rangefinders should be good for ‘holiday snaps’ by the beach.) And after a couple more days of sun, we’ll have at least a week of rain. Why can’t I just be independently wealthy so that I can do what I want, when I want?

Greetings from the hospital parking lot. FCD is inside for his bloodwork, in pain because they probed up his nose to his brain for the MOVIE test. He got a note for his boss excusing him from work till the test results come back.

Oh, yeah, he’s his boss…

I’m waiting for him to call to pick him up. Hope they can take him early.

Oh, yeah - the hospital guest WiFi works even at the far reaches of the parking lot. Yay!

I’ve heard the covid test is quite uncomfortable.

You know what is comfortable? Masks. They’re terribly comfortable. I think everyone will be wearing them in the future.

I hate them, I feel like I can’t breathe and it gets hot.
I also hate when people try to talk to me because I can’t understand half of what they say.
Masks are not comfortable at all.
They may be less uncomfortable than having a q-tip shoved up your nose, or being sick, but they are not comfortable.
