Howdy Y’all! Today laundry got accomplished. Even ahrned some shirts! Go Me! We et soup and cornbread for Sup. Also made a peach cobbler just cause. OYKW has already gotten into it and I will later, with ice cream even!
{{{BooFae}}} so sorry about your mum!
Bumba good luck with the gall bladder yank.
MetalMouse have fun at the hotel. Don’t steal the towels. That is not nice. However, you can take all the little toiletries.
Wait – what? Two gay men living together? GOOD LORD!!!
**
{{{Midget}}**} - sorry about your teacher. Even the ones I didn’t cross paths with much left an influence I see now. Odd how things like that catch you as you get older.
On a totally different note we’re getting lines replaced around us because they are lead. Ours is copper but the city-side is lead. A lot of jackhammering and test-holes and crap. So the city gave is gratis a terrific Britta filter and pitcher just in case their work knocks particles free. Just dropped it on the porch like some Good Elves and drove off.
Jews don’t recognize Jesus, Protestants don’t recognize the Pope, and Baptists don’t recognize one another in the liquor store.
How do you keep a Baptist from drinking all your beer on a fishing trip?
Invite two of them.
** Bumbazine ** . healing thoughts your way.
Got home from the clinic. Went to the pharmacy to collect my monthly insulin cartridges for the pump. Went up in price $27 more. I have good insurance I pay the same co-pay, no matter. I do wonder how peeps do it w/o insurance? Die, I guess. It’s ridiculous how much the price has risen in the last 5 years.
My IV went swimmingly. I feel much better than I did just 24hrs ago.
We ate Chinese. Not very good. I got my fill of shrimp, tho.
Not cooking tonight. I’ll eat something. Mr.Wrekker’s going out for steak with some old work buddies.
Gotta walk the pups before it gets too late.
Y’all have a good one.
In theory all those were replaced. But considering the map the contractors had from PGH2o had almost everything WRONG (including what side of the house/which street our service came from) I ain’t betting on it. Remember Sinkhole Bus?
**Bumba **- **FCD **had to do similar stuff before his last couple of surgeries, but not for the ones a decade or so back - I guess it’s a relatively new requirement. Altho I didn’t have to change sheets.
Supper was burgers, chips, and broccoli. I’m about to assume the knit position. Day is done. Can’t believe we’re on page 2 on Tuesday!!!
metal mouse, enjoy the hotel. I hope it has a pool / hottub that you can use.
{{{boofae}}} I’m sorry about your mum.
Good luck with the surgery bumba!
beck, most folks without insurance don’t get insulin pumps. Rather, they are prescribed old school insulin vials (you remember, the ones that have to be refrigerated?). A couple of pharmacies in grocery chains actually offer vials of insulin free (I believe in my neck of the woods, they are Publix and Kroger). As someone who was diagnosed as diabetic without insurance, I learned this in education classes (I wasn’t insulin dependent for a few years).
Irked, came home, suited up Nelson and walked him and am chilling after supper before KP and playing around in the studio. It’s stupid cold outside, so keeping warm is the goal tonight.
I pulled out the ahrn to put a patch on my pants the other day. Didja smell the dust comin’ from it? It’s been a handfula years since I last used it. I have; however, used my [del]ahrnin board[/del] portable, appropriate height table more recently. I made friends because of it, too. They wuz giving me funny looks until I got it all setup & then they thought it was a great idea. That’s how we got to talking.
Given you’re [del]a leech on society[/del] retired, why do you need to ahrn? It’s not like you have any business meetings to attend.
The Hampton Inn does not get my approval. Light switches are in awkward positions and the phones are out and a bottle of Coke and M&Ms cost $6. But the bed is comfy and the Wi-Fi works, so there is that.
Bedroom set won’t deliver until 4:30-6:30 pm tomorrow per the furniture place–no idea why so late, but as long as it gets there and I have a bed to sleep on, all is well.
Bumba, hope the surgery goes well. 20+ years ago I just had to walk in the door, nothing special to get ready (think I had to hold off eating 12 hours before).
Sari, someday that boy is going to get a big shock when life punches him squarely in the nose.
Posting from my tablet as I haven’t ventured from the bedroom yet. It’s another cold day and I have some errands to run after 9. Not sure what else the day will hold. Happy Wednesday!!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 29 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 55 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. We have a WIND CHILL ADVISORY in effect until nine a.m. The big item on today’s agenda is to lay in provisions. I won’t worry about dealin’ with [del]church janitor[/del] Junior Warden chores over to the church house until tomorrow bein’ as Moanday was a holiday so trash pickup is delayed one day. Sup shall be whatever is decided whilst at the Pubic Sto’.
Spidey we have a thing for one hunnert percent cotton shirts so one must ahrn from time to time. We like the look and feel of one hunnert percent cotton shirts.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, and bother purtification and the donnin’ of appropriate bein’ about the public attire must occur.
I have dragged myself out of bed, tended to the critters, cut up a banana for Roxy, and I’m breakfasting and caffeinating. It’s another sub-freezing morning: 20°F - but we’re promised mid-40s this afternoon.
Daughter’s engineering class starts tonight and SIL works on Weds, so **FCD **and I will dine alone with Roxy. I plan to make fish, because I like fish and the kids don’t. But Roxy does, so yay!
Other than that, no real plans apart from one errand - credit union and Food Lion, which are practically adjacent. I’d like to run to Aldi also, but it’s lots farther away and I really don’t want to pull Roxy in and out of her car seat 3 times in one trip. So maybe tomorrow?
Meanwhile, I need to shower and dress. Eventually.
Relatively productive day for me, I changed the bedding and washed sheets, did some ironing so I have decent respectable clothes for funeralising tomorrow, and dealt with bits of correspondence.
Now I am tired, and 'im indoors is mithering about my plans for tomorrow since I want to leave here early to avoid the worst of the traffic on the motorway going over to mum’s. Can’t possibly be late, can I?
metalmouse, Hampton Inns have been good to us most of the time, although 'im indoors is firmly tied to Hilton these days on account of having a fancy upgrade card that we make use of now and then.
Sorry to hear the news from Sunny, there’s a lot of it about…
The sun is shining and it’s up to 25 degrees!
Supposed to get up to 40, which will be nice.
I dropped off the pups at daycare, then went and gassed up the truck. It’s a lot easier to get gas when they aren’t with me. Ripple is pretty good, but Echo thinks that an open door means she gets to run.
Today I have to deal with the health insurance company. I keep getting bills and emails threatening to cancel my insurance if I don’t pay the (already paid) bill. Partially my fault I guess since I forgot you have to renew the auto payment in January each year. Which I didn’t remember to do until after the due date, but I also went ahead and paid both January and February. If I go online it says my bill has been paid, but I got another nasty letter yesterday, and it is dated well after the payment date.
Life is quiet in no. Illinois. It’s cold and Ariel needs a heavier blanket so I ordered her one last night that has hood! Well, it’s a neck cover but I call it a hood.Pot roast and asparagus for lunch. I’ve gained 11 pounds since November courtesy of bronchitis, prednisone, and Christmas goodies. Back on the “no eating junk food” bandwagon.
I like Hampton Inns. They are part of the Hilton thing, so you get Hilton Honors.
