(Old) Find the Good in the MMP!

I hate QR codes with a passion.
I can’t read anything on my phone because of bad eyesight so I always need to ask for a menu.
My new phone does have a QR reader but my last phone did not and it’s become something I really, really hate in today’s society.

My WAG is that the ones that were locked up had a higher rate of theft.

It’s new as in a couple of weeks. The positions listed as direct hire are not the ones that she described. She also mentioned that they were hiring through a staffing agency for the ones I would be interested in. I really don’t want to go into something like this until he’s been there a while, given that it would involve moving 800 miles away, finding a new place, etc.

Nice, slothful day today. I did some messing around in the studio, binged on The Economics of… podcasts and made a Sunday dinner of vegan red beans and rice with collards on the side. Turned out pretty good. It will go into the rotation for the potlucks that I go to (they have quite a few vegans / vegetarians and I always like to try a new recipe before taking it somewhere).

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated and then got pizza instead of a McN.O.L. We hadn’t had pizza in a few weeks, so ‘twas a treat. I really like the fact that I sat in my vehicle in the parkin’ lot of the church house, ordered a pizza, drove to the pizza place, and it was ready. Majik intartoobz pizza at its finest! Nappage and day drinkin’ were also accomplished. Tomorrow night is men’s night over to the church house, thus steaks are marinatin’ and beer is chillin’. The biiiiiig trash can has been hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. Up next: Netflix, chill, and popcorn!

MOOOOOOM ICK! Hope you’re feelin’ better now.

BooFae hope you enjoyed your day of practice RDOS inactivity. Glad you had a good time last night.

Metal Mouse and Oopsie thanks for the prompts to get flu shot and plague booster. I shall get the both of us scheduled post haste.

Coppertone church and football sounds like a fine Sunday plan to me!

red and JtC I make most of the broth I use in cookin’. Sto’ bought is fine, but I feel my own homemade is better.

Six sloth is my default mode.

shoe I am surprised there has not been a N.O.S. before.

Cat_Glove you probably know by now, but the final score was Dawgs 13 Kitty Kats 12. Like you said, it’s a win, but it ain’t a purty one.

Except my Ravens got their second loss so far.

I had my very first authentic New York pizza a few days ago. I’m never going back to marinara sauce if I can help it. Next week we are going to try one of their white pizzas. Alfredo sauce and four white cheeses. They are called “Heart Attack in a Box”. How could we possibly go wrong?

I also ended up with three quarts of chicken broth, some of which will be used for chicken and dumplings tomorrow. Restocking is taking time cause I’m so stinkin’ picky.

I heated up some pepperoni and cheese rolls for lunch today and am really wondering why I have never seen them before. I know that they were originally made for miners to take in their lunch boxes, but I don’t understand why they haven’t migrated west since then.

As a side note, pepperoni rolls appear in Fallout. Hubs loves that game because he keeps recognizing things. I love that game because as long as he’s protecting the world, he isn’t listening to fox or fucker.

The fire is still burning, or maybe smouldering is a better word. It seems to just be burning the underbrush without climbing the trees. I’m sure this is the best forest management system around, we are so used to bombers and helicopters and panic that we both spend much time shaking our heads at what we are seeing here.

Very glad to read that the Cornhuskers won and especially glad that the bulldawgs won as I would fear for you if they had not.

So sorry to hear about your bout of purging. Hope you’re feeling better soonest! Perhaps some chicken broth or chicken noodle soup is called for.

this was a major factor as to why Mom fainted then was diagnosed with sepsis and passed 2 days later.

thanks for clarifying; I wasn’t sure what Swampy meant since NOS generally means sunny.

We have them up here in the mitten state as well. When I was working FT, our department would get them by the dozen from Capri Bakery for lunch.

Went to mass with Hubs. He wanted to go to the Bagel Shop afterwards so I took some walking shoes to change into from my Sunday go to meeting shoes. Walked home and just as I was getting to cross a cross street to our street, here came Hubs. It was a good thing I was there because some inconsiderate neighbors had blocked the ends of both sides of the block with horses so I was able to move them so Hubs could drive to our house. The ordinance says if you want to block off a street for a block party, you have to get at least 50% of the neighbors to agree. Well no one ever contacted us. And it wasn’t for a block party; it was for a private party for one home. I’m incensed so I texted a higher up in the DPW but received no response. Bleck.

Swiffered the bedroom, watched some tv and caught up on the mmp. Working on dinner now.

Catch y’all on the next mmp.

And a good early evening all. Exercise has been completed and sammiches eaten so we’ll see tomorrow how my weight is doing. With the pool being closed for modifications, I’ll be in the gym part all week so lots of miles to be pedaled. Might even try using some of the weights and equipment there. The 10-day forecast says no rain and highs near 90F so the summer season is not over yet. But right now it’s 77F and will be in the 60’s this evening, so sleepage should be fine.

red, would want to be very sure about that job before packing myself off 800 miles. But if it works for you…

FCM, getting dressed is for those folks who insist in going out in public. Inside your house you should wear (or not wear) what you wish.

Oopsie, hope the Lego-ing went well And enjoy your vacation.

JtC, glad the feline world is getting back to normal.

Dicey, been through EWR several times, it’s not too bad of an airport to spend a little time in. Hope flight #2 is on-time and not problems.

Six, I can, on occasion, use QR codes on my phone, but I do not care for them as a rule. But like many things, they seem to be inescapable.

swampy, Happy Pizza Day. Not a fan of pizza, but like JtC mentioned, I have been tempted to try a ‘white’ pizza, but jus haven’t gotten around to it.

Cat Glove, the least they could do was leave a message in your mailbox or at your door letting you know their plans. So, yeah, inconsiderate bastiches…

And that’s all for this evening. Catch all y’all on the next MMP.

Yeah, my thoughts too. If he still has a high opinion of the place in six months, I’ll check to see if they have any openings that would be a good fit, but until then, I’ll hang in Tennessee until retirement as planned.

Packers pulled off a win, The Chiefs won on a last second field goal(Don’t think the Bengals will be able to Shake It Off  ) the Panthers panther-ed, and cleaning, laundry, and trash are done for the week. so ends a weekend. And my Wisconsin Old Fashioned.

Well, maybe not Final Destination. But the end of traveling.

My cousins and BBBoo are also happy.

Especially to Texas.

I googled and there seem to be several variations on the theme - can you perhaps point me towards a recipe? Thanks ever so…

Oddly enough, I can’t lounge around in a robe all day. Sweatpants and a t-shirt worked just fine. Plus slippers - no need for real shoes.

And you could make a visit, just to get a feel for the place and all…

I just finished Dawn’s Early Light. The next book in the series is Yankee Stranger. Reading dead tree books is a challenge - I still need my tablet nearby to look up stuff on occasion. I guess that beats pulling out the Encyclopedia Britannica.

It’s closing in on 10 and I’m really beat, so off to bed with me. With luck, I’ll sleep thru the night. And I’ll catch you in the next edition of MMP - same time same station.

:kissing_heart:

I haven’t made them, they are sold in all of the grocery stores and some of the bakeries here.

They are a white bread roll stuffed with pepperoni. No pizza sauce, just hunks of pepperoni. The ones I last bought also had cheddar cheese, but no sauce either. They are easy to eat one handed and not messy, perfect travel food.

So, I have a regular sized padlock with key on the corner of my desk, right next to their short tree. The key has a large safety pin through the hole because I pin it to my towel.

When GG wants to show off to Jolene, he grabs stuff everything in reach and kinda shows it to her before dropping it on the floor. He grabbed the padlock by the safety pin and started showing it to her before it slipped off his claws and bonked her on the head.

Poor lil girl, I heard the thump and knew it had to have hurt. Not only does she have a bruise from the lock, her poor lil head is covered with scabs because GG likes to hold her head in his mouth and she objects. That used to piss VBC off as well.

I’m not going to protect GG next time Jolene tries to piece his ear with her needle sharp teeth.

See you all on the other side of midnight!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

Up, down again.

Should i start a new MMP … ?

Someone should. Have at it.

I’ll let you do it !

I’m in California. You’ve seen seven hours more of this new week than I have.

Look! The new MMP!

I know… it feels like cheating !
Anyway, it’s all academic now !
(and i don’t speak the lingo !)
