(Old) Find the Good in the MMP!

Union of F’in Chicken Workers?

I crack me up!

Howdy Y’all! Late to the party for me, but I’m old and don’t need no stinkin’ schedule to stick to. Errands got done as well as laundry. RDOS activities happened. Sup got nuked and et. Been doin’ some Netflix and chill along with the very important evenin’ popcorn. Thus it is in swampland.

United Food and Commercial Woorkers.

Happy Toosday!

Another pretty day today, but I slept through most of it.
Back to irk tomorrow, joy and happiness there.

Happy Belated Birthday, MG

Good evening all.

I had a traffic accident. But unlike some of the crashes recently in Mumperland, this one was low speed (like, 2mph) and was me hitting the rear bumper of the car I thought had pulled up farther than they had. My car is fine, theirs has rear bumper damage so the police took a report and I have made a claim report on-line, so we’ll see what develops.

Then I went to coach soccer and eat dinner, so things are back to (relative) normal around here.

FCM, that 2026 Cruise looks very interesting. If I can drum up a possible roomie, I just may take a flyer on it. And yea! for the brief and happy Drs. visit.

boo fae, love it when the higher-ups get those ‘wonderful ideas’. Hope it’s survivable.

Oopsie, hope the meetup with FCM happens!

lily, now I have to look at that cruise too!!

MG, welcome to the 40’s…to be followed way to quickly by the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s…

JtC, most gyms have lots of things Hubs could do, never hurts to try.

And now to join the debate thread here and catch up on all the goings-on. Have a good evening all.

I napped. I dreamed I was in Da Hood, and a black bear broke into my apartment. He poured pink and yellow paint on spot, and was smacking me on the head. I woke up to Spot curled on my head, with his palms twitching on my scalp.

and I just saw on FB that my friend Rob passed away. He was a mensch in every sense of the word. He will be missed.

Happy Birthday!

Mk 32?

Have to add a martini.

< waves back >

It’s Philly, that happens anyway.

Sounds like a bunch of butchers made by Victor Frankenstein.

Could do and will do are totally different things. I am motivated. He will try it once and if he doesn’t like it he won’t do it again and will probably just give up and stay home and kill monsters.

I was watching the debate while keeping up with the thread but had to give up.

I am so sorry.

Jolene is wicked smart. She knows all about doors, she knows how to use GG as a ladder and she just demonstrated that she knows how to get an ice cube to play with.

I watched her jump high in the air and slap her paws against the push thing until she got it to drop a cube. Then she bounced up a couple of times and got the cube on the white tile floor and chased it around until it melted. Then I mopped. Again. I have a love/hate relationship with that floor, when it is clean, it is beautiful. White floors don’t stay clean long so it isn’t beautiful unless I’ve just mopped it.

FML

Well, you can replace the floors, but you’re stuck with the Mensa level cat for 17+ years.

I’m managing to multitask.

Our daughter had a root tear of her meniscus and had surgery 7 weeks ago. Her recovery is coming along very well. Hope the same for you.

Yay! You and FCD deserve a great getaway. Sounds like an awesome vacay.

Do kids read Pat The Bunny anymore? It was my daughter’s fav book at that age, well, maybe a little younger, I forget how old the Tobester is.

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 9c/48f with a predicted high of 12c/54f, and rain showers. Weather app says “Your day will be filled with fuckpuddles.” That explains why it’s bright and sunny out there, right?

It’s always been that way - the bin is properly known as a dustbin, the refuse collector is the dustman, and stuff goes in the dustcart.

I’d love to but a) I couldn’t get that much time off work, and b) 'im indoors doesn’t like the idea of being “stuck on a boat” all that time

Hurrah! I hope it turns out to be a fun day for you

Yay! I am officially an international binfluencer!

I am so sorry, and that is not the best way to find out either.

I had a not-very-productive day at irk yesterday, I think today will be much the same. Might be off to the pub with friends tonight, depends how we’re all feeling. I’m still coughing like a 60-a-day smoker so that’s not great, and I’m debating whether to bother going to campus for the conference thing tomorrow or just calling in sick instead. I wouldn’t normally throw a sickie, but I don’t need the hassle of the commute just to sit around and be talked at all day.

I vote in favor of calling out sick. Others would probably appreciate not being exposed to whatever you’re coughing out, and if you really are ill, better on a day full of lectures than on a day you’d have to actually do something productive.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and rainin’ with a predicted high of 73 and rainy all day. We may or may not go procure provisions today. Neither one of us desires much to tromp about in the rain, so we shall see. High RDOS inactivities are much more to our likin’ on days like this. OYKW has a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for chili/cheese/onion/slaw dawgs, so that along with fries shall be sup. Fartfest to follow.

MetalMouse sorry about the fender bender and glad no one was hurt.

{{{doggio}} so sorry about your friend.

BooFae I am also in favor of callin’ in sick. Sometimes you just gotta take care of you.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. I suppose I should also purtify in case we decide to venture out amongst the great unwashed. Decisions! Decisions! Decisions!

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

I’m not familiar with that one. One of Roxy’s favorite is the Pig the Pug series - they’re pretty cute. Those kids have so many books, some of which belonged to their mother when she was a kid. BTW, Tobias is 2 (till Nov 15) and he’s working on colors and shapes, with numbers and letters to come a bit later.

This made me giggle way more than it should have! Well done!

Most definitely! I’ve heard tales of mothers who want their kids to get “Perfect Attendance” certificates, so they send them to school no matter what, sharing their plague with all and sundry. Wrong. When you’re sick, you stay home away from the world, keeping your germs to yourself. Plus a sick day is a legitimate day off!

FCD and I both avoided watching the debate last night, but I wound up reading the watch-along thread afterwards, dammit, and was up till stoopit o’clock in the morning because there were so many posts. Which means I feel like warmed-over crap this morning. My plans for early mowage have changed to “I’ll get to it later, maybe” because I’m pretty sure it’s not safe to drive John Deere in the zombie mode. All I know for sure about today is it’s shower day and Jessica will be here to hose down MIL. I’ll figure out the rest as I go along.

But it’s my quiet time and I’m feeling calm, if a tad dopey.

Happy Wednesday!!

Good morning.

It’s raining and 55F right now. It’s expected to rain steadily all morning, then remain cloudy with a few showers for the afternoon/evening/night. It’ll only be around 63F, but I’m good with that.

I had to go out in the pouring rain at 4:00 a.m. to retrieve the garbage and yard waste bins because my husband never brought them up yesterday. The recycling crew had left the yard waste bin open, so there was a lot of water in it, and I had to dump it.

Boo Fae, I also vote for calling in sick. Your co-workers would probably appreciate it, and you must take care of yourself, too.

FCM, good for you booking the cruise! You both need something like that.

Doggio, I’m sorry about your friend.

I did not watch the debate; my husband only lasted five or ten minutes.

Metal Mouse, I’m glad the accident was minor and no one was hurt.

The pups are going stir crazy and it’s becoming more and more difficult to keep them from tearing around the yard when we let them out to potty. It’s recommended we use a leash, but Maisie won’t potty while on a leash. We’ll have to take them out separately, which causes a lot of drama. Roll_eyes: I can’t get them to go outside this morning because of the rain. They’re Labs, damn it. They’re supposed to like water, and they do, especially when I’ve got the hose out to water the plants or lawn. Somehow, though, rain is not fun.

Another workday filled with stupid stuff awaits. I have some hard deadlines for the end of this week, and it’s been very difficult getting others to get their stuff in so we can meet these deadlines. Most of them are funding/budget deadlines, but there have been a lot of last-minute travel requests, and every single person traveling has somehow messed up their travel authorizations and vouchers. It’s causing a lot of extra work, and the MPA is unhappy about it.

I also need to complete the training plan for the new MPA I’m bringing on board, but I haven’t had a chance because I have to keep dealing with last-minute stuff from the Deputy, SD, and others. It’s always a sprint to the finish line this time of year. And, of course, it’s that time of year again; will they pass a budget or CRA, or won’t they? Part of me wouldn’t mind a few days of “enforced” time off.

Alright, I need some more coffee. Wishing you all a good day.

Morning all. Waiting for it to get a little later in the morning and a bit warmer (68F now, heading to 88) before performing mowage. I’d prefer to wait until Sunday, but there is rain predicted for tomorrow and a better than 60% chance it will continue into the weekend. So mowage it is. No soccer tonight so will have time for reading and puzzles today, along with the usual swimming. Also need to try on my new slacks to make sure they fit before donating the older ones.

doggio, sorry about the loss of your friend.

JtC, probably should mop the floors today…or not. My floor is not white, so easier to ignore.

boo fae, I’m with the others, sounds like a reason for a sick day to me, I’m sure you have plenty left over so go ahead and use one.

FCM, you have a couple of very bright grandkids there. And like you I followed the thread here and kept the TV off. Albeit it might have been slightly biased coverage, but more fun than actually listening to it, IMHO.

Taters, how much longer before the pups can be released from durance vile? And yeah, I forgot the Fiscal Year for the US Government ends 30 September, so this month is always hectic. Best wishes.

OK, time to pour me a Big Bowl O’Cheerios and break fast. Have a good Hump Day all.

Showered and dressed. I stripped the bed and our sheets are in the washer. I’ll put fresh sheets on a bit later. FCD is at the boat. We’re waiting for Jessica to show up. So, another thrilling day here.

And it’s 3 days since the terlit repair. No leaks! And the crowd goes wild!!!

Sheets are in the dryer. I’m sorta productive today.

Hurrah on the no leak!

I’m working from home today. One of the few times i try this. Even with notice, I will have to go in at some point to get some things into fed ex.

Lager has moved from my lap to the box containing the items for me to work on. Luckily I had emptied it first.

Not a busy day on the Slide, so I got my training and certification done for overgoods and damages. I only had to put a gallon and a half in Carmen, since I only went to work 4 days last week.
And thanks for the condolences everybody.

I took a leak this morning.:stuck_out_tongue:

As long as you don’t throw a sickle, then there would be a May Day.
But I’d call out, I wouldn’t drag myself in for a meeting.

I watched the whole thing. But I watch C-SPAN for fun, so YMMV.

You might. hat lot is more dysfunctional and more attention seeking than the cast of an MTV reality show.

FYI, swiping doesn’t work in a dead-tree book. You have to turn the page. I keep forgetting…
