[OLD] Have As Good A New Monday MMP As Possible

Howdy Y’all! We have supped and it looks like the rain has moved on. Thus it is in swampland this soggy Tuesday evening.

My 2010 Camry with 152K miles is spending the night at the dealership having the water pump and belt replaced. My loaner is a 2023 Camry with 3K miles. I want. I’m gonna ask the dealer if I can buy it.

Oh, I know that feeling! My 2016 Chrysler Town & Country has been in the shop getting a new transmission for the last two months (which is why I can’t tell you how many miles are on it - well, that and I’ve got swiss cheese for brains). I had to rent a car to take Dad to one of his doctor’s appointments at the end of January and they gave me a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica. I loved my T&C when I first got it but the Pacifica is sooooooo much sweeter. If my T&C never comes back to me, I’m going to bat my eyes prettily at Hubby and see if we can look into a Pacifica instead. Good luck with the 2023 Camry!

Daughter’s car needs all new tires and a new rear axle, as well as it’s regular oil change/service. That’s $2K she doesn’t have, so bank of Mom & Dad to the rescue. I’ll be working out a payback with her. It all hits the fan at the same time, doesn’t it? She really hates that they need to come to us for help. I’m just glad that we can help.

I made burgers for supper. The dishwasher is sloshing. I’m about to assume the recline position. I need some chillage.

Neither had I – and our younger daughter lives there.

Next car I buy will be another Hyundai or Subaru.

All you people complaining about knees seem to have given my knee ideas. :frowning:

Up from naptime. I slept like a baby, I woke up every 2 hours, wet myself, and cried. Having a Manhattan, and Redneck Stirfry for dinner.

Close:

Mk 153 SMAW(which I’d like to take to the SSLAW some days)

{{{{Sunny}}}}

Glad that the ick seems to be retreating swampy.

Good luck with all of your new duties tomorrow BooFae!

Read all, retained some. rosie’s sig to all.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

SSLAW: Super Slow Large Annoyingly Wonky [something or other]. I’m not sure what though. But it is wonky and annoying; you’ve made that part perfectly clear.

New haircut is pretty, tacos & margaritas have been enjoyed, and although we had a bit of thunder and a brief sprinkle, otherwise it was a lovely nice outdoor evening. Chillage ensues.

And yes, tomorrow’s surgery is up and out early-ish, so I’ll be Ubering again while Her Ladyship sleeps.

Happy Toosday!

Not a bad morning at the park. It was 41 feels like 37 degrees. This time I wore my hat and I didn’t need it. Echo spent most of the morning on the small dog side with Lucy dad. She just adores him.

I didn’t sleep much last night; Ripple was not himself.
I had to encourage him to come upstairs, and he couldn’t jump onto the bed.
My son came up and moved a storage bench from another room next to my bed. Then spent about a half hour trying to teach Ripple to jump on the bench and then the bed.
He’ll do it for the good treats.
I woke up in the middle of the night and Ripple couldn’t get on the bed again. He’s not a stupid dog, but he is a stubborn dog that resists change. He doesn’t like the bench beside the bed.
He’s been a bit lethargic the last few days. I’m going to email the oncologist.

The only thing on the agenda for today was to irk, and make another pot of dog food.
There are other things that need to be done, but not happening today.

My son got his unemployment check, so it looks like we are not going to have the same troubles as last year.

When I see SSLAW, I think it’s some kind of coleslaw.

I hope the fix is cheap and easy BBBoo

Sounds like a lot of gardening Butters. Good for you, I wish I had the space, time, and energy to garden.

Finally done with irk, and now I have to check on the dog food.
Today was ground turkey with green beans and celery simmered in beef bone broth. It will be served over cottage cheese with salmon oil, milk thistle and turkey tail.
Yum yummy
It may be a while before I make it with broccoli again. The whole house reeks of broccoli when I do.

Evening all. Did pedal away about 500 calories and then went out to the soccer fields and helped a little bit, so I have been active. Just finished my Mac-n-Cheese with a banana for dessert, so belly is happy. Purple Heart (group I usually donate stuff too) called and they’ll be out next Wednesday to collect–have a fair amount of stuff to give them.

But…the carpet right in front of my sectional where I sit was all wet this afternoon. I hope it was just something I spilled and forgot about (like ice), since the pipes should be below the concrete slab and not able to get to the carpet, but we’ll see if it dries out. Doesn’t seem to be spreading, however. Tomorrow will tell.

I’m about 3 years out from buying my next car, have a Dodge Durango now. Always wanted a Toyota Sequoia, but the prices are much higher now since Toyota discontinued the Land Cruiser, so we’ll see. Might even get a Highlander hybrid, loved that car when I had it.

FCM, I know what you mean when 'it all hits the fan at the same time."

nellie, some extra {{hugs}} for your daughter,

True Fish, yea! for a good Drs. appointment, Best wishes to BtY. So many things can overwhelm even the most-balanced student these days…

OK, need to get the Mac-n-Cheese bowl soaking so I can run the dishwasher tomorrow. Also have the Great April Shopping Trip list to finish, planning to do that on Hump day. Take care all.

Crap.

Well dang. I hope he’s just a bit “off his feed” due to the weather.

It was warmer today, currently it’s 1756 and 67F. Hubs went out for a motorcycle ride and I stayed home and stitched on the back porch.

“We” planted a pomegranate last year and it is starting to show color. Sometimes I’ll see a bird sitting on one of the stems and get all happy knowing that I am the one to put that tree there.

According to what I’ve read, I might get a couple of fruit this year, but I didn’t plant it for the fruit (they are a whole lot of work for not a lot of food), I planted it because I wanted lots of pretty flowers. I think I want to have a dwarf apricot planted next year. I like dried apricots so have a plan for the ones I can’t eat or give away.

It’s still a little early to be putting plants in the ground, I fully expect another surprise freeze by the middle of next month so all I’ve done to the beds is top dress them.

Well, heck. I hope you were just being forgetful as well. You certainly do not need a repeat of last years plumbing issues.

Waves at Boo, hoping the device is fixable.

Being the nosy person that I am, where at in Philly? Hubby and I were in University City back when he was getting his doctorate, though we still have family in various parts of Philly and the Jersey suburbs.

Mine are just from falling! They’re getting better all the time. So yours will too. I have faith!

My friend that overnight valets at a hotel sent me a video of one of the rooms there that was flooded into the next room. Apparently, the cleaning crew nicked something on the back of the toilet and no one noticed the leak until the person next door noticed their carpet was squishy. Luckily, no one was in that room. The reason I’m mentioning this? Because I know your wet spot can’t be NEARLY as bad of a situation as this one was!

I wish I could say that BtY was one of the most balanced students but… With his sensory issues in the past, hiding under things was his way of pulling himself out of the sensory overload. He hasn’t really done it in years, which is where some of my concerns come with him. When I asked him after school, though, he said he just felt like laying on the floor. So… who knows. I’ve got to take his word for it, but I will be watching him a little more closely in case I see other signs from his alphabet soup.

I finally finished reading all of the old threads from my long ago days here. So many things that I’d forgotten about, so many friends that I used to have that I’ve lost touch with. I may have to go back again and read several of these threads to make note of some of the things I want to bring up to friends from those days or possibly revisit on the Boards now. (No, I’m not going to have Zombie threads. I would link if it were important enough.) It does surprise me, however, both how much has changed in who I am and how much is the same. Most of the places I can look at myself and my writing from that long ago are gone now. It’s really interesting to look back at.

Tomorrow is going to have to be a housecleaning day. I don’t really have anything other than getting the kids back and forth to school, so I might as well focus on getting as much cleaning done as I can while listening to an audio book. I just need to find the right one. Because, of course, I don’t have the audio versions of any of the books that I picked up from the library today. Still, I’m going to make tomorrow be a kick-butt day where I do All The Things and do them all well.

Off to get some sleep myself, since I have to be out the door with CtE at 0615. And I still need to wind down!

I’m hoping he is just a little depressed because we didn’t go to the park yesterday, or that he may be missing Cerby. I had said ‘Cerby’ earlier in the day and his ears went up and he looked excited.
Happy excited, because even after all the shit Cerby did to him, he still wanted to be friends.

I’m heading up to bed now, so we’ll see how he is tonight.

What a sweet boy! Dogs have a lot to teach people about love and forgiveness.

I hope you are right and that he is just having a bad couple of days.

Sweet to everybody but the vet.

And who’s fault is that? Certainly not that sweet dog’s fault, I’m positive the vet has done very rude things to the poor lil abused dog in the past!!!

Wow, it’s been a very long time since someone quoted Shakespear to me. What other hidden talents do you have?

Akiko growled at the vet this week. She loves this vet. She’s been seeing her since she was a puppy. I think the lupus makes her cranky AF. I’m not sure what to do for her. If she’s on all the meds for the lupus, she’s a bitch and I worry that she might be dangerous to anyone but me. If she’s not taking the meds, then she’s miserable because lupus. Long story short, I get the dog woe. It’s so hard when they’re not well. {{{hugs}}}

@JaneDoe42
I am a huge fan. In every production I have seen, I have never gotten through “Oh, happy dagger! This is thy sheath. There rust and let me die!” with dry eyes.

If things had been different, I would have loved to play Mercutio
