VBC has a couple of large fabric toys that she drags around and yells at. She also seems to have reasons for where her toys go. She brings them to me when she wants effusive praise and she drags them to the french doors at night.
Yesterday, GG pissed her off and she spent the day in our room with COC while George looked in through the baby gate and whined a lot.
VBC semi forgave GG this morning, but put her sock monkey in GG’s favorite bed. GG spent most of the morning laying with his head propped up on the side of the bed and looking mournfully at the now forbidden bed.
I tossed the sock monkey out of the bed and VBC dragged it up on the bird watching spot so now GG can nap in his favorite bed or wish he was watching the birds with VBC.
Speaking of, Monkey just got yet another can of gooshy-food just now, and must think he’s died and gone to kitty heaven.
I just wanted him to have a full tummy and snooze; I deeply enjoy the snuggles but he was kinda bouncing off the walls last night which didn’t help the insomnia.
Bleah. I survived Long Night, barely. Oh, our G.M. was there - thank Og I was a few minutes early. (The last time she gave me crap about tardiness, I was two whole minutes late.)
I had some chicken broth, which may or may not have stayed down. If my manager figured out why I was taking off my glasses before running to the restroom (why would I take off my glasses to pee?) and emerging a bit watery-eyed, she was at least discreet about it. (The combo of vomiting and working around other people’s food is generally frowned up. I WASHED MY HANDS THOROUGHLY, PEOPLE.)
Anyway, that’s enough TMI for one night. Looking forward to crawling into bed.
And so the cycle goes. Shoe goes to bed & pilot gets up for work. It’s 5am on Sunday & I’m coffeed, fed, sheveled, dressed, packed, and about to leave home. Be quick today, just ride down to Mexico city then work the same plane back to MIA without ever setting foot in the terminal.
If the Wi-Fi on the plane is cooperating I’ll bug you along the way south.
Real quickly, congrats to Niner and your Mom; you’re both looking pretty pleased with your handiwork.
I’ve always been convinced that when someone applies to work at the DMV (or whatever your state calls it), one of the interview questions is “Can you take a decent picture of a human?”
If the applicant answers “yes”, they’re promptly disqualified.
Buddy has decided that sleeping under the covers is his current preference. When he’s not hanging out on top of a 6-foot bookcase, anyway.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 60 Amurrkin out and mostly clear with a predicted high of 86 and mostly clear for the day. The big item on today’s agenda is deheathenization with the Bishop and first Sunday brunch. Sloth and general overall uselessness are in store for the rest of the day.
Niner lookin’ good there. Enjoy the time with your mom.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.
Woke up angry from a dream about my wife. She refused to show me how to see how many photos were left on the camera. I was truly furious in the dream, and now that I’m awake I’m looking for divorce attorneys. Well. . .maybe I’ll just make breakfast instead.
Afternoon, mumpers! It’s 17c/63f with a predicted high of 19c/66f, and partly cloudy today. Weather app is optimistic and says “Call me crazy, but I think is a fucking shorts day”. I wouldn’t go quite that far…
shoe sorry to hear you’re still feeling bad, I hope you start to get better soon.
Niner that’s a fab photo, you look great!
pilot safe travels to you
It’s largely a day of sloth for us today, although we are going out this afternoon to pick up Luna the Lodger and hopefully dodging all the traffic. There’s a Sikh festival thing going on in the park round the corner from us, seems that everyone attending it has driven here and needs to park on our street, despite there being loads of available parking spaces around the park itself, and on the street that leads off it towards ours. Fortunately they’re decent people and don’t block my gates so I will still be able to get the car out when we need to leave.
When we get back, there will most likely be some faffing about to get Luna settled in, we’re planning on giving her a room with her carrier, food and water in it, and then leaving the door propped open so she can come out if she wants to. Shadow doesn’t go into our bedroom much any more so we’ll put her in there and see what happens.
Breakfast is cheaper for sure. But just to spite her, cook her eggs not the way she likes them. That’ll show her.
Actually, I remember a thread we had between 2 and 10 years ago where some guy was complaining that his GF often awoke from a dream angry at what he’d done to her in her dream and proceeded to be a total jerk to him all day. He was asking for advice. Which was pretty unanimously to tell her to knock that shit off or to GTFO. Her subconscious obviously did not really like him. She can overcome that and stay or surrender to it and leave. But she can’t indulge it with him.
So maybe you should make Lady Cookie exactly what she wants for breakfast.
Up, caffeinated and sheveled. Off today. I shall clean, and perhaps do some day drinking during the sports. Spot is in the sunroom, looking out the sliding glass door. It had one of those bars to make it harder to break in, but the rubber tip wore off, so I replaced it with a baby gate. Spot always looks through the gate, rather than the all glass side. I guess so he can remind himself that he, like the people at the Hotel California are just prisoners here of our own device.
Congrats, looking good, and have a good Sunday!
Yeah the shelter had an outbreak of URIs.Spot had a man cold level one the first 2 weeks here.
And that’s hilarious with VBC annexing GG’s bed.
Dream lady with the pet black bear would be cheaper. Just saying.
You brought back a blast from the past fishy. I haven’t been to Hermitage House in years and, frankly, didn’t realize that they were still in business. They had good fried chicken.
Congrats niner!
I really like the variations on a theme on your mystery piece JtC, especially the bargello heart in aqua in the corner.
shoe, you don’t live very far from Holland, MI and the tulip festival (it’s on this weekend and next). I used to like to go to that when I lived up north.
Up, caffeinating, breakfasted, fixing to do KP and work week meal prep. Not a lot else shaking today, so I’ll assemble the cards that I cut last night. I am making some that will go into the Cards for Soldiers box. I try to do some that a young child would appreciate receiving from a deployed parent, as well as ones that the other adults in their lives would like.
Back from six hours of driving. Two up to Sapporo to pick up everyone. One to the airport, another back to Sapporo so we could go to Cosco, then two back.
We were already completely packed with people and luggage so there wasn’t enough space in the minivan to have gone to Cosco first.
SenWife is still too afraid to drive in Japan because they drive on the left and we have a larger minivan so I got to do it all.
It’s a seven-person van, but we had eight people, with four squished in the back seat. Surprisingly, my two adolescents only got into one major fight this week despite being in close quarters.
It’s currently 50 degrees and wet outside, but not raining. The expected high is around 60 and the sky will be cloudy all day. They’re not calling for rain, but we’ll see. Maybe today I can get to the nursery.
I need to do laundry today.
I’ve already had my coffee and went to the donut store to get donuts. I just finished a maple/bacon bar. It was delicious.
I have also awoken to anger from dreams, and yes, it does take a bit to get over it.
We took our son out for dinner last night. He wanted Mexican food. He always treats us, so it was nice to treat him; I insisted this time, stating we were celebrating his promotion. The truth is, I always want to pay the bill, but he refuses to let us do so.
That kitchen isn’t going to tidy itself; I guess I need to get started there.
During yesterday’s fight with the push mower the starter cord came off in my hand. I’ll try to fix that today, but I don’t have a lot of confidence that it’ll work.
Morning all. Looks like the rain predicted for today decided to stay put wherever it is and we’re not due to get wet until tomorrow. So I could have postponed mowage until today… Ah well, maybe some gym time and some housework can be arranged. Heading to 86F later today, so might have to get the AC started here soon.
I don’t remember that many dreams, seldom have wokne angry, sometimes unsettled.
Sensei, glad kids didn’t make it more trying on you, take it easy the rest of the day.
doggio, love the canine flow chart!
JtC, cats are a lot like 3 year olds, in a way…
OK, need to clean up and start planning the trip over to the Golden Corral. All y’all take care.
