Yaay. The real punchline was for you to become personally assured with your own eyes that they’re what you think they are. And now you know.
Howdy Y’all! Laundry got laundered and put where it stays until it gets dirty again. We wen to the Asia hog trough Buffet and et too much. Nappage and day drinkin’ occurred with more day drinkin’ to come. Scurvy and malaria are actin’ up, so medicine is needed. In a while there should be room for popcorn to go along with either/or Netflix/Britbox and chill. Thus is the news from swampland.
Very pretty. Hard to say how big it is, but as long as it weighs less than a pound you’re probably OK. Probably.
Swampy has just demolished me with his productivity today. I managed to sunbathe, shower, brunch at home on a leftover Rueben half-sandwich & sides, then nap for 3 hours. Once awake again I interneted awhile. Now at nearly 5pm I propose to get outside-dressed for the first time today and go seek dinner. RDOS FTW!!
Growing up there was a cultural divide between the guys that played sports and the guys who we into camping, hunting and fishing
I was in the second group
To the tune of $16K. It would have been cheaper sans tariff. Dammit.
Not unless you freak out and dive over the railing…
I cooked up a chickie tit in some Olive Garden salad dressing. Don’t recommend. It wasn’t bad, exactly, but not good either.
Regarding sports attendance, I did go to the first half of the first game of my first semester in college. That was more than enough. After that, I babysat for students who wanted to attend without their spawn. Win-win.
OK, it’s time to do some crocheting.
What, no D&D nerds?
Same here, with periodic episodes of stupidity.
I went to a Bills game, against my Pats. It was horrible. There were grown men yelling at a 11-ish year old kid for wearing a Brady jersey. In a long line for a port-a-potty.
But I do like a nice afternoon baseball game, ML or AAA, or AA. If you ever happen to be up in Portland Me, the Sea Dogs have a great ballpark. It’s like a mini Fenway.
Holy cats! Why so thick?
My commute is going to blow up soon because back to school. It always shocks me how many parents drive the kids to school now. Excuse me, I’m going to rant at some clouds.
Inneresting day at the museum. We’re having some new features added to the science park. and these involve plumbing coming from the building, under the existing deck. Evidently under the deck was where all the leftover detritus from the community builds was hurled. So I got to spend the day with gloves and knee pads on hauling elderly scrap wood cutoffs and old pallets out from under the deck.
Some cats really like corn onna cob.
Grabbed from internet, not my cat or teeth.
I hope your water heater guys have an easier time of it than ours did!
No, but I will suggest that you refrain from feeding it. Well fed spiders lay egg sacks full of thousands of baby spiders who will all make nests and next thing you know, you will have to use your broom on the webs just so you can step out the door.
Somehow, I just knew you were one of the cool kids
So we were out and about today. Hubs had a doctor appointment in Charleston and I had to go to Aspen dental and get my records and x-rays. Back when they held my top plate hostage until I had a full exam, they promised that they would give me a copy of my records when I left - but they lied about that. Then they promised that they would mail them to me. More lies.
I found a new dentist who tried to get my records because we knew my insurance wouldn’t pay for two exams in two months and Aspen never managed to get send the records to them despite calls and faxes.
I called Aspen yesterday and told the very rude receptionist that I would be there today for my records and asked that they be ready. She said she would take care of it. Surprise! She lied.
When I showed up at the counter, she said she would do it right now and I could take a seat and wait. I said I knew it would only take her a few minutes and I would wait right where I was. She didn’t seem to like being watched, so put her phone down and went off to actually do something.
While we were on the way, Hubs noticed a Japanese restaurant we hadn’t noticed before and we went there for lunch. I wish I had taken a pic of the drink menu, I cannot remember what we had, but they were very tasty and my glass was fancy (which always makes a drink taste better).
We stopped at Aldi’s on the way home (lots of empty shelves) for freezer chicken, that shelf was getting kinda low. Thighs went up sharply since our last trip
We do not drive in town between 1445 and 1515 when school is in session. Those soccer moms in lifted pick-up trucks are a true menace to life and limb.
Ouch. May the rest of your days there be not so inneresting.
How was Peach while you were gone?
And so, JtC, I think that it’s fair to sum it up this way: Aspen = liars. Always and forever, amen.
Today turned out better than I expected. I was very tired and ended up taking a nap this evening. And when I came out from napping, MusicMan was sitting in my recliner with Annie on his lap and both of them were snoozing. So cute! Tomorrow I have my first official check-in with my boss. I’m hoping that it goes well. It’s only going to last 15 minutes so at least I have that going for me.
I wish I had seen this earlier. We had corn on the cob with our salmon pinwheels. (OTOH, I like pepper on my corn.)
I’m slowly transitioning from my 30-year-old email to gmail. Tonight it was AAA. I noticed the phone number they had in my profile was my irk number from BMCRA from almost 22 years ago.
Last night, I missed my 7pm and 10 pm meds, and I was awake most or all of the night. My legs were tense, and nearly cramping the whole time, and I was walking all around the house, trying to keep my legs from cramping. It was very stressful.
Well, it’s suppertime. I’ll talk to you later,
Easy-ish. They found some components in the old one installed weirdly, but an extra half-hour put everything to rights. There appears to be hot water. I haven’t tested out a tub yet.
The last of the cleaning days, she is almost done. We’re exhausted! but the house looks great, and there’s actually space in the linen closets.
My night time leg cramps went away when I started taking electrolyte tablets. (I’m not a fan to gatoraid) I also cut my water consumption back to a gallon a day and I’m working on going down to half a gallon a day.
So, my advice to you is to experiment with gatorade but remember to adjust your water intake accordingly.
Isn’t that satisfying? I always celebrate by changing our sheets and taking a long shower before slipping naked between the fresh sheets. Pure bliss!
Awwwww!!!
Honestly, I knew Aspen was bad before walking in the door. I just didn’t understand how bad they really are because you have to experience it to really believe it.
I just have to say that every time I see the thread title, I think of Donald LaFontaine. ‘In a world…’
If it matters, it really should be Frumious. No ‘n’.
Beware the Jabberwock, my son!/The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!/Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun/The frumious Bandersnatch!
Mindfield, welcome back!
Anyway, about that museum gift shop. I got something for myself as well: The Usborne Book of Art Skills. I have no natural talent for art, but I long to create. I can see in my mind’s eye what a picture should look like, but I don’t know what to do, even with a pencil, to make it happen, and forget choosing brushes, mixing colors, and so forth. With this, I can learn basic techniques, and perhaps I’ll someday be able to create on my own!
VanGo - the Coast Guard minimum requirement is 1/4” thick for aluminum tanks that are permanently installed below deck. Steel could have been thinner, but there’s the whole corrosion thing. I should have taken pics of the holes in the tanks they removed. Big ass corrosion.
We got some rain tonight. More possible tomorrow. Exciting, huh?
Anyway, almost sleepy-bye time for me. *< yawn >*
That’s what I said.
Evening all. Did the gym thing and then spent an hour directing traffic at a soccer field (they have 4 small fields for U6-U8 teams in the same spot, and seven different teams were practicing today. I put up maps on which fields were which but still had to help folks who didn’t bother to look at them). Then home for the usual mac-n-Cheese dinner and am now perusing the net for a bit before heading off to Slumberland. still 84F outside, we have a 50% chance of rain and right now I’m rooting for the rain…
Oh, and my cologuard set arrived today, so I need to set it up and then ship that s*** via UPS…
Time to do that scrollin’ thang…
Sensei, happy house repairing. And good news about your friend.
KaBoom! (well, that’s what I want to call you), welcome back from your ride on the Tardis. Hope you can stick around and get to know this bunch of folks, I think you’ll like them. And 5 hours commuting! I think the longest I ever did was about 1 hour each way, but Flyboy might give you a run for your money…as for snacks, I have pretzels, popcorn and Cheese Balls to contribute.
lliy, glad the Hot Water heater beat the guests.
Taters, happy bathing (and hope the pups got bathed too… )
FCM, I very seldom back into a space in a parking lot, but if the next row is open I’ll pull forward to take advantage of it..and hope no one is pulling into it at the same time.. Thanks for the boat pictures, that’s a fairly major bit of work/installation, hope it meets all your expectations.
J-Bats, nuke it from orbit is my advice…it’'s the only way to be sure…
VanGo, know what you mean about schools and parents, you should see the traffic around several nearby schools at opening/end of the day times…do my best to avoid them. And before the great work can be done, the grubby stuff must be performed.
JtC, surprised you didn’t have your cane with you to tap the desk/floor while ‘requesting’ those records (but maybe you did..). Least you finally did get them and a pretty good meal as part of the deal.
Knots, remember your meds tonight!!!
Frumious, I’ll try to remember, but that n just sounds like it should be there… And best wishes with the Art book; I have no skills at it whatsoever but admire anyone who does.
And that’s all, folks. Catch you tomorrow.
