Question: Why? I can only imagine a large rug in a room devoted to water activity.
Happy birthday MrTaters!
Just another manic Monday!
Irked, came home, walked Nelson and et. The usual week day.
Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Went to the local hole-in-the-wall taco place, and it was closed. I hope that’s a one-off; I really liked them.
Settled on Subway, since they were on my way home, for a 6" turkey done all weird the way I like it (provolone, spinach, onions, and both garlic aioli AND onion sauce, cuz why not gild the lily?) on multigrain cuz I’m all healthy like that.
It’s actually carpeted. But I can only think of one time where it got ‘flooded’. She used to have a couple of small throw rugs in there.
That Stonehenge colorway just speaks to me. What fabulous colors!!!
I already knew it was going to be wonderful, now I know it will be even better than I thought.
That sucks. I’ve pretty much given up on getting good tacos here cause folks just don’t like spices.
Despite being born and raised in WV, Hubs spent 18 years as a Marine (before getting into an off base accident and being discharged for medical issues. No retirement, no medical payments and no real job prospects. I have a grudge against the USMC but he is still so loyal…)whatever.
Anyhow, Hubs learned how to love spices during that time and I was raised using them. Every time his family came to visit, we had to plan the meals so carefully. They wanted to experience Mexican and Native Indian food but couldn’t tolerate even the slightest bit of spice.
Now I have to be very careful about how I cook food to share with the neighbors. At the Labor Day potluck, everyone wanted to try one of my chicken taquitos, which I had just waved bottles of spices at, and thought they were good. Nobody liked my quac or the bowl of Pace Picanto sauce because it was too hot.
I’ll cook for you anytime!!!
Howdy Y’all! Home, well been home for a while, from men’s night. We had a good crowd, and, as usual, solved all the world’s problems. Of course, no one ever listens to us. I have not read all cause I’m feelin’ sleepified so comprehension is nil. I promise to catch up.
Leftover chicken-fried chicken for dinner.
Evening all. Sweat has been sweated, dishes have been washed, soccer has been coached, and Whataburger and Fries have been devoured, so sloth and watching tackleball is all that is left on the agenda. So let’s see what the other Mumpers have been up too…
Cookie, haven’t had to have a crown on my teeth, glad it was fixable, even if the end result might be expensive.
Hippie, so inadvertently you are ahead of the rest of the class. And nice work as always.
FCM, hope the Weather Wizards leave you dry (a quick look at the weather map says doggio may be getting drenched). Looks like tomorrow night might get you, though…
Dicey, hope you were able to eat there, ‘smart casual’ usually equates (to me at least) as dress slacks and a polo shirt, but everyone can have their own interpretation. Never been to a restaurant with a dress code like that, usually the place is known as a ‘fancy’ dining place that one dresses well for.
JtC, I’m still years away from hanging up my driver’s license, but given the usual public services in N. Ali-bama, I’m not a sanguine as you about getting around without a car.
Wheelie, just checked and Ohio State is playing an away game on the 28th, so you might be able to get out of town without too much trouble… And flyboy is right, Springfield is about 45-50 minutes on I-70W, if you are hankering for some sightseeing…
Ever try Jersey Mikes, they are a bit more expensive but much better sammiches, IMHO.
And that’s all the news I am fit to print. Arms are a bit sore from the shots but otherwise no problems. Take care all.
Spot and I napped. It has rained continually, and there is a flood warning. But I got an Old Fashioned and a cheeseburger.
Good choice. Next time try the mac n’ cheese at Tobbaco Road Sports Cafe at the top of the outfield wall.

Never heard it before.
Need to get mine.
I need slippers with good arch support because I have plantar fasciitis. Vionics are very good for this, but their slippers are too damned hot for California. The only time I’d need an inch of plush covering my feet is if I was going out into a snow bank.
So after trying another brand or two of other orthotic slippers and giving up, I’ve hit on a solution. I have Vionic flip-flops, which I love. I went to Daiso and got a pair of “tabi socks”, that is, socks which have a separation between your big toe and your other toes. They’re designed to be worn with flip-flops.
It’s perfect! The thin sock provides just a touch of warmth and the Vionic sandals give a lot of support. Thanks, Japan.
I’m sure they’re both much happier kitties now.
Happy Moonday!
Happy Birthday to Mr Taters,
and how worrisome for Tater-son.
Another cool morning, but no park.
I needed to take the truck to the shop and I put the dogs in daycare.
The dogs must have had a busy day because they are wiped out.
The scheduling got a bit messy when I was told my truck would be ready by 4, and then they told me they were running behind and it wouldn’t be ready until 530 or 6.
Fortunately, it was done at 445, so everything fell back into place.
I wasn’t sure how everything was going to irk since I had to pick the dogs up by 6 and they aren’t supposed to ride in the loaner. And my son had to irk tonight, I thought his schedule changed next week, not today.
I’m glad he didn’t have to go in late, because he has a good record. He gets gift cards every month for his performance, and he and some of his other co-irkers got a special dinner last week. They had a choice between lasagna or T-bone. He of course picked lasagna. It would have been my choice too.
I didn’t put any gas in the loaner since I drove only 16 miles and probably used half a gallon of gas. I got a Malibu, and other than feeling like my ass was scraping the ground, it wasn’t a bad ride.
Other than that, I napped most of the day.
Cool work Ooopsie.
I just ordered the bonsai tree for my son.
You do nice irk Hippie.
Good luck to MusicMan and enjoy your first day Sticky.
FlyBoy, I got tired just reading that.
The picnic thingie sounds kind of cool, Shoe. I wouldn’t be interested now, but when I was younger I would have liked it.
Except I never wear white. It’s bad luck for me.
EVERYONE is happier now
We’re all getting shot tomorrow. The last thing MIL needs is Covid, and frankly, nobody needs that. Or flu. So to CVS we go.
JtC - the pile o’kittehs is too adorbs!
I’m sure there was more I wanted to say, but it’s late and I’m tahred. So until tomorrow, -zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
They are cute, aren’t they? I’m sure you got your Dtap back when you had that stair incident, but when did FCD last get his?
Whooping cough is a thing for kids nowadays and I understand it sucks when a loving grandmother kisses up the wrong grandbaby at the wrong time.
Such cuties.
awwwwww so cute
Up, cafferinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.
Yep, but I have my weird favorite, and I don’t think Jersey Mike has spinach.
It’s approx. the healthiest thing I eat, let’s not begrudge me my one veg.
If you’re feeling bold, there are toe socks, which require slotting each little piggy into its own little cotton space.
I got all the feelz from that picture.
I … would have chosen otherwise. (Wait, how bad are the steaks?)
Not cool, did I mention outdoors in Texas cripes imma shove popsicles down my bra.
White’s not my color, either, but at least it’s not friggin’ yellow or orange or something that makes me look like I’m dying.
… sec, my mother is texting me from Switzerland and I gotta go, cuz she just asked if I still have my Swiss Army Knife - sadly lost to TSA years ago - and they have some interesting options now.
I just kinda wanted a bog-standard old skool but they have COLORS
Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 9c/48f with a predicted high of 18c/64f, and partly cloudy. Weather app tells me that “It’s partly cloudy, that’s not so fucking shitty.” No, looks quite good out there as I can see blue sky and sun.
We ran out of ham so 'im indoors decided to go to the corner shop for some last night around 10pm, so he hauled the bin out (which is usually my job!), so confusion all round. The binmen also confused me by coming at 7.20am, while I was in the middle of feeding the cats and just debating whether I’d have time to get the almost empty cat food box in the bin as well. Turns out I was too late, because they were early!
That’s good of her! I had a tiny Swiss Army knife, pocket-sized thing, in an alarming shade of pink. It was useful, but eventually it disappeared somewhere and although I sometimes think it would be good to have it back, I don’t miss the neon pink.
Moooom I can see where MIL gets that idea from. Some places are hard to live independently if you don’t have your own transport. I’m lucky, I have good public transport here and we’ve got a bunch of small shops very close to home. When 'im indoors was fantasising about retiring to Hungary (based on spending time with our friends there), I had to keep reminding him that the local shop opened from 5am to about midday, there were no other shops anywhere close, and doing a normal grocery run would involve at least a half-hour drive to the nearest approximation of a supermarket. And did I mention that he can’t drive?
Sticky Buns I hope your first day went well, and MusicMan got the call he wanted!
Cookie ouch. Just ouch.
Sari glad the truck stuff got sorted out at a decent time and everything worked out in the end.
It’s going to be a busy day today, I have lots of little jobs to do and I need to get some more cat litter since we’ve opened the last bag now. That means driving up to the little retail park so I’ll do that in my lunch break. I also need to do campus food for the rest of the week, and I have to go grocery shopping later as well. I’ve already been outside and moved my car onto the street, I hauled the biiiiiig recycling bin back in once it was empty, and I’ve done feline tums and bums. Now it’s time for me to have another cuppa and some breakfast.
