Wow, that could have had a much worse ending. I’m so relieved it didn’t, but I’m sorry it happened at all. I hope the other driver gets the book thrown at him so that maybe he’ll think twice about taking the chances he did there.
Does OYKW also have a vehicle, or are you a one-car couple? Hopefully you can get a loaner from the body shop.
Finally got around to making something with the ground/dried gochugaru peppers I bought. Crispy rice, topped with sauteed chicken and a glaze made from the peppers, maple syrup, rice vinegar and a bit of salt. Very tasty.

'Twas a day of prep for taking our exhibits out to install. I’m not used to building ones that will be a permanent site. Mine have generally been travelers, like the exhibit will be at one museum for 3 months, then go somewhere else. You build them differently when they just go and sit there. It makes them harder to move if’n there not made to move. Tomorrow is load the biig truck, then Sunday is drive to the space, the Monday morning is offload.
Is going to be suck. We need to get from the loading dock to the exhibit space–multiple floors–and are apparently supposed to have escorts (not the sexy kind) along the way. At Epcot it was cool, they just had us drive the truck in after hours and off load. Here we need to be escorted through during active hours.
Interesting tidbit about Epcot,/Disney the music and exhibits are all active all night. Dunno if the rides still worked, never tried that. The music and lights stay on. I have bad memories of putting our stuff together and hearing “Welcome to the great American Pizza Show!” All. Night. Long.
Not looking forward to the next week.

Nelliewe both have vehicles, but Ima insist on a whilst twuck is in the hospital for surgery.

Yikes swampy! I’m glad that you weren’t injured, but be kind to yourself. Most of the time, even a traffic bump can leave you sore the next day.
I got most everything on my list crossed off (the trip to Lowe’s and patio cleanup are left). I toured the new vet’s clinic and met him. All appearances indicate that they’ll take care of Nelson well. We have a getting to know you appointment on 12 May.
Sis and BIL will leave Houston for my house tomorrow. She said that they would likely stop more frequently, given BIL’s tiny bladder. 
It will be good to see them.

I did the same thing today that I did Tuesday, and it took me about an hour less, since I knew what I was doing, sorta.
I now have two of these guys, which will become the cabinet units on either side of the bed.

Dang swampy! Even if you aren’t hurt, you had a good shake and us old farts don’t take to that sort of thing as well as we did when we were young. You might need to do some extra day-drinkin’ tomorrow to help with the soreness. (I’m super happy you weren’t hurt.)
Can you loosely hang those on the wall, both to keep them out of the way and to also start the build process. You would of course want to leave the fasteners loose enough to adjust and level everything just before tightening it all down.
We had a good day, despite the nursery being packed, a spot opened right in front just as we drove up so hubs didn’t have to drop me off and go find parking. I didn’t find everything I wanted but it’s still early in the season. I did discuss my pomegranate with a worker who seemed to know what he was talking about and he thought we should give the pomegranate another month to see if it comes back or if it is really dead. We are all doubtful, we think it just went back to sleep for a while longer when it froze that night. I hope.
I also noticed that none of the mesquite along the way were greening up yet so that makes me feel better about the one behind us I had been fussing about because I thought it was dead too.
We drive past a decent sized dispensary to get to the nursery and were highly entertained by the full parking lot, cars circling like vultures and a line of geezers wrapping around the building. Hubs said it looked like free Senior Day at the Golden Corral.
We went to our fav Mexican place for food and margaritas which were great as usual. Hubs is so funny, he always eats the same thing every time we go, but he always reads the menu from front to back before making his choice which is the Tres Amigos…red chili, green chili and a chili relleno. I like to mix things up so today I had the mushroom and shrimp burro with green sauce.
When the check came, he put his card in the billfold, the waiter took everything and returned it with the receipts and pen…all as usual…hubs signed, tipped in cash, carefully put his card back in the card holder place in the billfold and put his wallet away. He has been forgetting his card all over the place, so far we have been lucky…
That is how Mom started…leaving her glasses all over the place. When we were at seminar last year, I made the effort to buy and wear identical bright red shirts every day so she could pick me out of a crowd and I always went to the restroom with her so I could pick up what she put down.
It shouldn’t surprise me that she forgot our plans, all we have done is talk about it so far. I do need to find out what resort she wants me to stay at so I can make reservations. I want to be in the one she is familiar with, it will make it easier if she hangs out with me until it is dark and we have to get a taxi to take her home.

And Darci is at least eating my Paprika chicken. And she takes it a lot more gentle than Gordie ever did.
I can see green at the base of the pomegranate stems and the stems are all flexible, not brittle. It was going gangbusters and had leaf buds and then we had a late freeze and now it is just stems again. If it is dead, I want to replace it now because we have no living trees back there anymore and it is very distressing to me.
Sometimes people just need whacking!
Mom knows that she is forgetting things and it is very frustrating for her. If I can make minor accommodations to help jog her memory without embarrassing her, it makes me happy to make her more comfortable. I love her.
Mom did remember to go and find out what motel is close to her and we looked it up…and they don’t have a hot tub so we are going to find a different place cause we both want to spend some time soaking.
She also wants me to fly and offered to buy my tickets using her super frequent flyer perks but I really don’t want to fly. I don’t think flying is fun, I want to see the country, I want to go to a dispensary in Utah, I’m retired and have plenty of time and I want to bring weed to a felony state.

Evening all. Insurance guy came by and was very positive, wanted to send me money now, but I’d rather wait until I had the entire bill, so he settled for calling in the ‘water mitigation’ folks for the possible mold and wet padding. They are due tomorrow along with the fence folks, so another day probably skipping gym. Watched European soccer and dozed a bit prior to heading out to the soccer fields, then celebrated Orbit Completion Day #70 with a Cheeseburger with Lettuce/Tomato/Mayo for dinner and two bananas, because I am such a wild and crazy guy. Internettin’ and readin’ on the schedule for this evening.
God Bod, getting together and breaking up is SOP at your young age; there’s still plenty of time to meet someone else. But yeah, it does hurt right at the time.

FCM, my refrigerator ice maker still works fine, been using it more often lately to dilute and cool my Diet Pepsi/Pepsi Zero, they seem to taste better when icy.

Not a very interesting day. Was thinking about walking to work but I lazed in bed reading the news ap on the mini Ipad too long so drove. Worked about 3hrs then home to sloth a bit, handwashed a lot of dishes but hands got too chapped so didn’t finish the silverware. Oh well, tomorrow’s another day. Hubs wasn’t able to grill due to extreme pain and difficulty walking so I made a cheeseburger for him in the skillet. Will have to get to bed soon as will need to be up and at 'em early as we have to leave at 7:25am to get Hubs to the hospital for his cortisone shot. Am greatly hoping it will bring him relief as he’s been in an extremely painful state the last 2 days and hardly able to walk. The cane he ordered came today; I’m hoping that will help him be more steady walking.
Tomorrow is trash day so wheeled the big trash container and the recycling container down driveway to curb as well as dragged the trashcan full to the brim of grass clippings to the curb.
Hubs’ HS buddy and wife are coming to town this weekend for a memorial service for her aunt so we’re going to go out to brunch with them on Sunday. I researched nice brunch places, (normally we just go to diners for breakie but wanted a nicer place) and found 2 that could fit the bill so we shall check them out on way back from cortisone shot.
