[Old] Lets have a healthy breakfast in the MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 67 Amurrkin out and mostly cloudy with a predicted high of 84 and partly N.O.S. for the day. Tomorrow the high will be 61 with rain. Sunday will be 65, Monday 62 with rain, and Tuesday 72. Mother nature is either drunk or goin’ through menopause down here. No real plans for the day outside of Good Friday service at six p.m. We shall get fish 'n chips from LJS for N.O.L. cause we have coupons. We’re thrifty. Other than that it will be the usual sloth and general overall uselessness.

JtC happy mead bottlin’.

Cat_Glove hope all the runnin’ around goes smooth.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Firday Y’all! A Blessed Good Friday to all who observe.

Good morning, all! It’s currently 47F/8C, but the sun hasn’t risen yet. It’s only supposed to get to 65F which should make for nice errand running today.

That’s probably it. At least, I know that it used to be. He hasn’t tried a shower in several years and I know he’s gotten better with other sensitivities

Yeah, most likely. I’m just anxiously awaiting the day he tries it again and finds it doesn’t bother him quite as much anymore. The day may never come, but I’m hoping that it does.

Hubby’s got his doctorate in molecular biology, which adds another dimension of “this is why I do it” for me. It’s also why I welcome med students on rotation whenever I have an appointment. It also helps that I’m not particularly shy when it comes to talking about myself or when it comes to my body.

I wouldn’t know anything about thatshe says, eyeing the basket full of folded laundry.

It depends on what you consider a serving size…

True. The color will be the biggest change for me - I’ve always gone natural colors so this will be a big change. And whenever I let it grow back out (because I always do) I’ll be able to use my various hair goodies.

Actually an old '79 Buick. There are times I miss being as skinny and flexible as I was in those days.

Exactly! If you want to do a thing right, starting early and practicing often is the way to go.

A trip isn’t a trip until you find yourself in a couple of bars.

Yay is right! It’s very good news.

BFF got to my place around 1800 last night, while Hubby was tutoring. CtE helped her bring the heavy furniture in. Along with the lift chair (which I still need to see if it works as a lift), she brought a coffee table with a top that can be raised. I’m going to need to rearrange my living room so things don’t look quite so crowded. She’s spending a couple of days, so we’ll have time for lots of board games.

I’m planning a fairly leisurely day with the haircuts (which I expect BtY to throw fits about) and hopefully a visit with Dad. And lots of board games if we can.

Hope everyone has an awesome day.

There are easily a dozen or so in the house, but this is MY seam ripper:

that is brilliant!

i found so many seam rippers when my mother passed. there were at least 6. none had her name on it.

Morning all. Woke to rain and more is in the forecast for today, tonight and tomorrow, so soccer Saturday is probably going to get cancelled. Down to 46F here and only making it to 60F, quite a drop from 85F early in the week. I’ll get my swimming and sauna in after the plumbers visit and give me the bad news. Might even turn the water on for a couple hours and get the dishes washed…we’ll see.

Well, at least it’s not named Jack…

Real Fish, have a nice visit with BFF. And I took baths (and still do) over showers when I have the chance, but travel and life makes showers unavoidable, hope CtE can adapt eventually.

swampy (and other religious Mumpers), a happy Good Friday to you all.

JtC, happy mead-sampling day! And quite ingenious on the straps. Good luck with the Next Door idiots who don’t read but sure do write…

boo fae, enjoy Germany; for all my travels I really haven’t seen Central Europe, it’s in my plans for one of these days…

BBBoo, glad you’re doing better, hope part 2 is less stressful.

OK, Instant Breakfast has been disposed of in the proper manner and pill has been pilled, so nothing much except the morning internettin’ and waiting for the plumber’s call. All y’all take care now.

I’m surprised, given the pick-up truck population in the mitten state.

That mead looks mighty tasty JtC.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted, a load of towels / throw rugs in the dryer, jeans in the wash, Nelson’s and my toenails trimmed and fixing to do KP, clean the hovel and procure groceries. It’s a chilly, rainy day out (glad we got a dog park trip in while the beautiful weather lasted). I’ve had to turn the heat back on.

According to my granny, if it didn’t rain on Good Friday, it was a good day to plant potatoes before getting cleaned up to go to services. A blessed Good Friday to all who observe.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Good morning.

It’s currently 49 degrees and damp outside. The expected high is 54 and rain and rain showers will move in during the late morning.

You can get these baffles at WildBirds Unlimited which allows you to order online as well as go to a physical store. I have one near where I live, so it’s convenient to go there. I bought my whole set up there.

JtC, thanks for the compliment. The area is a work in progress. I hope to finish out the pavers this summer. The pictures I posted are from various times, although the one with the sprinkler is from last early summer. There will be more plants; I love visiting the nursery and finding unusual plants and flowers. The area that seems barren behind the retaining wall is far too steep to maintain any growth. Believe me, I tried for the first 10 years I lived here. The soil is nothing but boulders and fill dirt, so I gave up, put down weed cloth, and threw bark on top. I refuse to put down ivy because it’s invasive and is a haven for rats up this way. In the meantime, I buy planter boxes, fill them with plants and flowers, and fill the beds beneath the windows with plants and flowers. It really is a nice little spot in the summer.

FCM, glad your sweetie is feeling better, but sorry to hear that Taz isn’t doing so well.

boofae, enjoy Germany! I hope to get back there someday. I lived there for three years, plus have relatives there. I’d love to go back to the town my Oma lived in and see the house. It’s been sold off, but I can look at it from the outside. She lived right near the wall that still surrounds most of the town.

BBBoo, I’m glad you’re doing better and I hope part deux isn’t as bad as part uno.

I went back to bed at 3:30 this morning (usually up around that time) and stayed there until 6:30 or so. Need to finish my coffee, certify my timecard and start the day.

ooooooo - fancy! I need one of those, 'cept with my name on it.

I think you need to go to Time Out and think about what you did… :stuck_out_tongue:

Breakfast was YUM but FCD learned that he needs to order a single pancake at Marie’s. He got a short stack, but when the pancake almost overhangs the plate… Afterwards, we went to MIL’s to figure out what battery she needs for her phone. Even if she could have gotten it out, she couldn’t have read the part number. Anyway, we’re home and I just ordered her a replacement.

It’s overcast and dreary and miserable out. I’ve got to plant the 5 plants that were delivered yesterday, but that’s all I’ll do outside. It’s just too ick. Crochet it is!

A decent heaving today, plus sorting in 43, and some retaping. I had my shredded wheat and blueberries, now it’s Tussin Fueled Weird Brain Nappy Time!

As a person who reads the comments section, I feel this is the only rational choice.

He’s not exactly sure, but he’ll take a stab at it.

There’s enough space in Time Out for two… just sayin’!

I managed to get the 5 creeping raspberry ground cover plants in the ground as the rain was beginning.I hope they like the hill and will spread out to cover the icky bare spots. Fingers crossed…

Now, to boil the eggs.

Here they are:

seam ripper

I just looked at the store website, and found a location near my parents, plus a suggestion of how to set up a backyard feeding station. My mom was complaining that the squirrels are eating the birdseed and she is not amused. I mentioned the squirrel baffle, so they might be changing their feeding station. I couldn’t see the pictures before, but now I got a chance - very impressive feeding station.

I can’t believe I missed that. I am really off my game today. Internet is still being unstable, but currently working.

If I want devilled eggs, I have to go buy more. After making pear-anise cake (4) and chocolate coconut cookies (3), I only have 3 eggs left. I anyway have to buy mayo. So to the store I go - but only tomorrow morning, when it’s open.

Had a meeting with the knee surgeon this morning. Looks like it will be 2-3 months from now. I’ll have to do the “prehab” exercises between now and then.

I think I’ll try an Asian chicken dish tonight, perhaps this one.

I am well rested.
I made a grilled cheese sammich at 10 last night using pre-shredded extra sharp white cheddar. (Hey, it was on sale. Don’t judge.) I don’t usually have a problem with cheddar or other hard cheeses, but this time my tongue got to feeling ‘tingly’ and a little swollen, so I took a couple of Benadryl, and went to bed about 11:30. I slept through 'til 9:30 this morning with only one potty break about 5am! :open_mouth:

I meant to pipe up earlier when you were talking about beach sand getting where it doesn’t belong. That’s never happened to me, but I did sunburn my butt one time. :scream:

Y’all have a happy Easter.

I would be honored to make your pizza, my darling.
Mr Scribs on Henry St, next to Langlois Furniture, across from Dickeys BBQ.

(There’s one in Gr Haven, too. Can’t vouch for them. Don’t call Laketon, that’s the “other” Muskegon Scribs. We get each other’s orders all. the. time.)

Anyone else wanna bet a nickel they choose bright pink?

Mom’s got her mask-making appointment on the books now so they can target the tumor, so we’re pretending that it doesn’t exist for right now so we can celebrate Easter.

Both kids are going to be out of the house today - overlyboy’s working and taking my car; overlygirl is going to a “Pink out” birthday/slumber party (shoe, I’d defintiely take that bet with you), mom is relatively settled, so the husband unit and I will go out to dinner together for the first time in months. This will likely be a rough road ahead, so we’re going to steal the time when and where we can. Speaking of, I’m going to take mom golfing soon, while she’s still feeling okay.

The kids really want an egg hunt, but no one seems to have time to color the eggs in the first place between work and friends, so since I haven’t had the pleasure of dyeing them solo for many years, I guess I know what I’m up to tonight after dinner.

What is?

… and can my inner 8-year-old attend?

ETA: ohthankallthegods, TweedleDee and TweedleDumber are off today. I forgot my personal apron yesterday (which meant no vape pen) and when I did a thing they found hilarious, I had to listen to them laugh AT ME for a solid ten minutes.

Shoe doesn’t like being laughed at.

I’m probably getting a little political for the MMP, so I will be brief. Biden got 35% of the vote here in Yavapai County. That is up from the 32% who voted for Hillary.

If I quit moderating Nextdoor, the other lead will quit as well and the person who will take over is a full blown Trumpie who has bragged about owning one of his NFTs. This means the trumpies will own Nextdoor and the reasonable 35% will have nowhere semi-safe to speak out. So, yeah, I’m taking one for the team because I don’t hurt myself without a really good reason.

Besides, sometimes I’ll get lit and wade into the contrail thread just to laugh my ass off, so there is some entertainment value to the role.

You must stay and be the voice of reason with them there people.

Oh, I’m sure BtY will. It’s just going to take time - and probably being stuck somewhere he has no choice.

We had to do the same. I’m just glad that it’s no longer rainy here. But it is definitely wet and chilly.

I took the kids out to get hair cuts. Had to soa little driving around for it. We used to have a SuperCuts across the street, but apparently they closed. We had to go a little further afield, but we won in the end.

CtE got a good amount cut off, BtY got neatened up. And I ended up not going as short as I wanted to, but I’m still happy with it.

Tomorrow will be the bleaching, Sunday the coloring. Wish me luck! And now back to playing my newest DC Deck Builder with my best friend.
