[Old] Lets have a healthy breakfast in the MMP

Cute haircut! And I’m a connoisseur of short hair cuts. Color is gonna be fun!

It’s coming up on 24 hours on loratadine & the verdict is that I can solve my “cold” with this stuff and return to irk. When I’m good and ready.

Other than that, today has been a grand success: I’ve done nothing except eat and unload yesterday’s one load of laundry. And read / 'Dope. And yak with a work pal enjoying his days off in some colder northern clime.

In another hour it’ll be time to get spiffy and go out for fancy steak/seafood. We both like getting dolled up, but admittedly it’s a lot more work for her. Although the results are correspondingly greater as well. Rowwr!

Our Easter plans are like most of our holidays: bring a semi-prepared feast to wife’s daughter’s place and finish it there. She lives about 20 miles down the freeway. Daughter and her one adopted kid plus 6 foster kids are not a very portable horde; much easier for us two to go to them. Menu we’re bringing shall be some variety of roasted herbed chicken thighs, some sautéed green beans, and roast herbed new potatoes. Meanwhile daughter will be baking rolls, making salad, and dessert. And some bean casserole thingy as a protein for the lone vegetarian kid.

Should be great fun, if a bit hectic. Two infants, one tween, and four more between 3 and 6 years old. Chaos shall rule the room.

Send not to know for whom the Horde seethes; it seethes for thee. The whole horde weighs roughly 250lbs. A good fraction of which is the tween. Not so big you’d think. But boy does it have a lot of energy. And noise. Lots and lots of noise. I can hardly wait. Seriously, not sarcastically.

We’ve had a bit of rain this afternoon, but it’s supposed to move out soon. I got the eggs boiled and peeled - tomorrow I’ll dye the whites and mix up the fillings. I do the filling in zip bags, then clip a corner and use it like a pastry bag to fill the halves when I get there.

I’ll also continue crocheting, since FCD wants to work in his shop tomorrow. I’ve just about finished a crab and I’m thinking of making another Loch Ness Monster. I want a dozen stuffies to sell. I’ll probably make a convenience center run tomorrow, too. But it’s going to be too chilly for scrubbing the boat and the teak will be too wet to sand - that’ll wait till Moanday.

Supper is leftover pancakes because neither of us wants much else. Chillage shall reign.

Yesterday, I had the a/c on. Today, the pellet stove is on. Weird weather.

When I lived in St. Louis it was not uncommon to run both heat and A/C on the same day during this transitional time of year. Always annoyed my small slice of Scottish ancestry to pay now to undo something I just paid to do a few hours ago.

Afternoon all. Got my swimming and sauna in (scale says 260lbs on the nose, so may make it to the 250’s next week). Plumber will do the job, but it won’t be until 18-19 April before he can do it, so it’s another 10 days of water rationing. Had the water on for about 2 hours to run the dishwasher and used (according to the meter) about 45 gallons of water. It’s off for now.

Also due to have the fence repaired around that time, so there’s two nice bills for me. Contacted my insurance, it doesn’t cover the actual plumbing (any construction-type work they do to get to the pipes is covered) and I have a $1,500 deductible, so we’ll have to see if it’s worth filing a claim.

Still raining and no soccer tonight, so will stay inside and internet for most of the remainder of the day.

Pilot, lived in the St. Louis area (Florissant) from '85 to '97, so I know what you mean. Here in N. Ali-bama it usually takes a day, it was 85F yesterday and 56F now. Enjoy the madness of Easter.

Real Fish, lookin’ good!

JtC, you are a noble person and hope the pressure doesn’t weight heavily on you.

shoe, sounds like the pair needs a old’fashioned butt-whupping, and if I was a few hundred miles closer…

I remember going out to lay in the sun in Abu Dhabi (a cold summer day there is only 99F) and took all the precautions about burning parts of my body…except the soles of my feet. Ever try to walk with sun-scorched soles before? Trust me, you don’t want to.

OK, need to consider dinner (Salad Bowl or Fettuchini-the other will be Saturday). Have a good evening all.

Happy Thorsday!

No park today, I have to figure something out.
It is a nice N.O.S. 67 degrees, perfect park weather.
We had a good group while it lasted, but it’s gone and I don’t see much point in going anymore.
Barky/Humpy only go when I go, and if they go, nobody else goes, so it’s just us.
It’s good for the dogs to get out, but they just hang close to me to avoid Barky and Humpy.
I’m going to think about things and make some adjustments.

MetalMouse, the reason we go so early is that most of the dog park assholes aren’t up yet. Afternoons and evenings are when the troubles happen. The mayor was supposed to set up a key card system for the park, dogs would have to be current on vaccines and spayed or neutered. That never happened, but it would eliminate most of the issues.
I was leery of going at first because Shar Pei, while originally farm dogs, were bred to fight. They are well known for being dog, and sometimes human, aggressive.
The best thing I ever did for Ripple was take him to the park. He lost his shyness and it built his confidence.
I took it slow though. At first, we wouldn’t go in if there were other dogs there. Then we’d go in if there were one or two other dogs. In the beginning, if there were other dogs there, he would hide under the bench I was sitting on. Then he started venturing out, and he found a pittie playmate who was about his size. The first time she slammed into him, he ran back to me to hide. The next time he got up, looked at me, I said you’re alright, and then he was good.
It took about a year and a half before a human could touch him though.
Unlike Echo, who has been a social butterfly/diva since puppyhood, and she demands attention from everybody.

and so, I didn’t finish yesterday

Happy Friday
No park today. It was in the 50s this morning.
We had to turn off the AC and put the heat back on.

Today was not a good day, so I’m sorry if I don’t remember much of what I read.

The oncologist called and there isn’t much to be done for Ripple.
The tumors are aggressive and he can’t get a higher dose of Palladia.

He was doing so well, and then everything just went to shit.

{{{{{{@Sahirrnee}}}}}} & {{{{{{ Ripple }}}}}}

That, sadly, is how cancer ends for everyone, human or otherwise. Things seem fine, but the gathering storm within will not be denied. At least not forever.

Hugs to you both. As I said upstream about wordy’s Mom: May you have the courage to consider Ripples best interests above your own fears.

:people_hugging: :people_hugging: :people_hugging:

So sorry about Ripple. {{{}}}

metal mouse where is the leak?

Spent the day horsing around. Ariel got her feet done, we went for a ride. She went back into her pasture and I hung around yakking with the farrier and friends.

Grape flavor? :d&r:

I hope that your knee surgery goes well cookie. The sesame chicken sounds yummy.

shoe, a combo of pink lemonade and strawberry koolade usually does a nice bright pink on blonde hair, so I’m betting that it would have a similar effect on white.

I’m glad that you’re staying on as lead for the sanity and readability of the forum JtC.

Nice cut real fish!

Congrats on getting down that far on the weight metal mouse.

{{{sari and ripple}}} You’re doing the right thing with him, heartbreaking as it is, by trying to keep up his quality of life.

Houseirk, laundry and grocery shopping are done. Tunafish and lettuce on whole wheat pita (there’s enough tunafish for tomorrow’s lunch left), a bowl of veggie soup and a clementine was supper (gour-may eatin’, I says!). I’m fixing to watch some TV whilst messing around in the studio this evening.

Squeee!!! Did Sunflower give that to you? That is SO romantic!!!

Thank you, thank you  The straps were hubs’ idea, my suggestion was stick-on grip-strips but those would probably come loose during the cleaning process.

The end result of today’s bottling was a mason jar in the fridge because traditions are important. Two beer bottles for hubs to give to his beard trimmer girl, 22 wine bottles of clear mead and 1 almost full wine bottle of cloudy mead which will settle over time. He used locally sourced honey for this batch which raised the price a bit, but the results are worth it and it works out to about 6 bucks a bottle which still isn’t bad.

It is mighty tasty! It’s still a little bitey but time will mellow it out.

hmmmm…I was just wondering ifin it was time to put the N.O.T. in, thank you for the reminder.

That’s how I found my beloved Columbines, visiting my favorite nursery and finding something unusual and interesting.

Your yard shows your efforts, it is lovely.

Very cute! I’m looking forward to seeing the color.

Thank you for the kind words, but actually, I’m one of those 35% who deserve a safe place to hang out, so I’d have to say my actions are pretty self-serving. Plus, I smoke a lot of weed. It’s much easier to deal with the crazy when I’m stoned.

Too late to edit again, but I just got exciting news. a friend acquired a fruitless Mulberry tree last year and realized she didn’t have a place for it after all, so offered it to me. I want one, I think they are wonderful shade trees and we are having the dead oak taken down so I was planning on buying one.

Friend is going to bring it over in her golf cart so we don’t break branches putting it in a car. This is great, the tree is used to the area and we will be able to let it get used to it’s new place before it goes in the ground.

I love trees, I’m so happy

drool. Could you shoot me the chocolate coconut cookie recipe? I’m the only one in my family that likes coconut and I want to make something I can take some of before I pass the rest on to friends.

I love grilled cheese sammiches. I picked up some havarti, swiss and provolone to make my own.

I don’t take sucker bets, my friend!

This is a perfect plan. I hope that everything converges correctly to allow you are able to spend plenty of time together.

{{{shoe}}} I would only laugh with you, never at you. I’m glad you don’t have to deal with them tonight.

That sounds like some great entertainment. Our NextDoor here would probably have a lot of the same kinds of entertainment. I just haven’t checked it recently.

I’m so sorry. That kind of reversal is hard. {{{Sahirrnee & Ripple}}}

Boo, MetalMouse , red and JtC, thanks! I’m looking forward to seeing how the coloring comes out next.

Today has been a day full of board games. It’s one of the things I look forward to when BFF is visiting. She’ll be here until tomorrow afternoon so we’ll be able to play a few more. When she leaves, I’ll be heading over to see Dad. Then home to bleach CtE and myself.

Next game is starting! Have a great night, all!

Up from naptime, having a Negroni, salmon, rice, and spinach. It’s down to 44 degrees ferret height.

{{{{sari Sahson Ripple Echo}}}}

Cherry. :stuck_out_tongue:

Looks good!

By far the best kind of baking is the kind none of your family wants. More for ME!!!1!! Or for you actually.

I got your NextDoor motivation when you replied to me upthread. Thanks for the clarification and yes, you’re doing a great, if difficult, service to everyone in your county. I salute both your fortitude and your community spirit.

The snip I just quoted was something I missed the the first time. Thanks to @TruePisces for picking up on this. Contrails, eh? I bet that’s a doozy. These yayhoos can manage to keep an ongoing thread on this topic? Presumably an especially wacky CT that just keeps on truckin’. Or is that plane-in’?

My evening went well. Swanky dinner was a success, Her Ladyship was hawt, and tummy is majorly full. Now home to relax & digest.

Thank you for the kind words

Oh, you are a pilot, of course you are in on the plot!

So, latest is that contrails are actually spraying birth control drugs for some reason they can’t seem to articulate. I’ve asked why we have such a well known housing shortage if THEY have been spraying birth control drugs on us for the last 40 years and the answer is illegals and/or people moving in from California. People from California are hated even more than illegals and illegals aren’t considered to be human.

When I mentioned seeing contrails while PAB was in office, I learned that he was spraying things to reverse the bad stuff the librals were spraying but once Biden took over they went right back to sterilizing everyone.

I would actually think that you would be more concerned about the 5G towers TBH. Europe has banned 5G because it was interfering with navigation systems and thousands of people were dying daily in plane crashes onto office buildings or day care centers.

5G is also responsible for killing off thousands of species of birds but I don’t know if all of those birds died because they flew into jet engines yet. I’ll ask next time I get super wasted.

Those subjects are not allowed by Nextdoor, but I leave them open until people start threatening other people and I only allow one contrail and one 5G thread at a time. So, while the same threads haven’t been open for years, the same CTs have been hashed out over and over for years.

Chemtrail nozzles.

Oh… And we all know each other.

Hehehe!
