If I could get a guaranteed number of mosquitos per night in the hundreds/thousands, I’d build a fucking condo with central A/C, wall-to-wall, internet, and a doorman.
I woke up a few evenings ago with multiple mosquito bites, and STILL have hard itchy lumps on my hands and arms days later. I have never understood WHY Noah had to take those stupid mosquitoes on the Ark.
So I’m really not good at high altitude. Got a tad light-headed on rather little activity when we got to that pass (9623 feet). The supplemental oxygen we ordered for this trip did help. Weather was quite nice, motorcyclists near the pass were morons (lots of very unsafe/illegal passing, for example). Generally a pleasant day, altitude issues aside.
Must figure out that oximeter a bit better. It had me with blood oxygen below 60% at one point. Considering that 88% is low enough that medical websites say this is time to seek medical attention, I somehow don’t think that reading was accurate, since I was fully conscious at the time. I suspect user error, so will be working on getting that sorted before any future high-altitude ventures.
Got a text from the vet confirming Buddy’s latest lab work is still good. She wants to hold him at his current steroid dose for about another month to make sure the current dosage is holding off the anemia. At least side effects are calming down a bit on the lower dosage.
See you guys tomorrow on the new mumper thread.
Maybe someone can do a funny thing about Labor.
Mrs. L.A. just bid me good night… at 20:48. I had yum beef salad (yum nuam) from the Thai restaurant for dinner. Mrs. L.A. had Thai iced tea and something from the appetiser sampler.
