(Old) “Oh shit! I see Monday!” - Spot‘s new MMP (told you I liked it)

Evening all. Have ham-n-cheesed my way to a happy belly and called brother, they leave Sunday to head up to Cleveland for my Nephew’s operation (apparently he needs his pulmonary artery ‘cleaned out’ and only a couple places in the USA do that sort of procedure). Will get reports from him and his wife on how it goes (scheduled for Wednesday).

I was fairly responsible in that my main bathroom has been cleaned and the bedroom tidied and vacuumed, but looks like the weekend will be full of laundry however. My Black Friday will be spent mostly at Kroger, need to replenish stocks and also get some Chewy gift cards for the family pets for Xmas. (Brother and SIL have two bassets, niece has a French Bulldog, elder nephew has cats and younger nephew two bloodhounds). Good chance to really build up those Kroger gas points.

Coppertone, hunker down and stay warm (you too, Moley)

Sticky Buns, these are ‘frozen’ pancakes, so not plate-sized like many restaurants, but still are pretty good and six is not a ridiculous number.

JtC, that would be worrisome to me; is he on any blood 'thickeners" ( I know there are blood thinners, just figure there has to be something that does the opposite).

And that about wraps up T-Day for me. Hopefully things will return to (near) normal by the weekend. Take care all.

He had a quad bypass a while back and is on blood thinners. This is what is normal for him. It looked like a whole lot of blood, but it really was just a tiny teeny cut that seeped all night long. So…not worrisome, just super annoying. I buy the BIG bottles of peroxide and we haven’t used it on wounds for decades.

Jolene is the one I was worried about, cats shouldn’t drink booze, just a teaspoon is enough to kill one and there was almost a cup of assorted liquors in 10.5 oz of cranberries (not the 12 oz the label said) a cup of sugar and a quarter cup of water and the booze gets added after the sauce is done cooking.

I am very careful to keep kids away from it, I should have had enough sense to keep Jolene away from it too.

She’s OK for now, but the liver damage has already happened. :frowning:

I read about you trying to go to GC for t-day. We once thought about doing that same thing…and ended up eating cheap tacos instead.

Next year, just plan to come to WV and help us keep Jolene out of the sauce. Haven’t you always wanted to eat t-day crawdads anyhow?

Despite the weather guessers, we didn’t get any snow and even the rain fell through. According to hubs’ fancy pants weather station, we got .34 inch of water today.

I have a dissapoint.

I also have some bad words to say about UPS. A truck showed up in our yard today and delivered a package that was scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. It wasn’t our usual driver, this one had problems with our gateposts. He did look through our treat box and took a few things which might have made his very sucky t-day slightly better for a few minutes.

Can you tell me a little more about gentle yoga? I know that there is a hot yoga place in Logan but have been a little nervous about exploring that.

I’m glad Ariel is quiet and happy, but I’m guessing she knows that it’s cold out there too.

Has the scratching post gotten the feline seal of approval yet?

My cats back away from cranberry sauce. I’m a bit surprised that Jolene liked it. I hope she will be okay.

Thanksgiving Dinner with the church people was nice. No cocktails, and no wine though. The hostess mentioned a place she likes for apple things, but said she ‘doesn’t like the smell of alcohol’. We took Wifey, RN’s patient a ‘plate’ (actually a nice plastic container) of food, after stopping off at home to get him a slice of pumpkin pie. (We left the gathering before dessert.) We went to Bellingham, and The Missus dropped off the meal. She said he appreciated it. I just remembered: This is the patient I called to tell him Wifey, RN wouldn’t be able to make their appointment because she was in the hospital getting her appendix out.

swampie, I was on YouTube and saw a video titled The Ten Commandments of Southern Thanksgiving. I don’t know how really southern it it but I thought you might be amused. Or any other southerner on the board.

Well, it doesn’t seem to want to take, keeps saying an error occurred.

Here yah go:

We are having entirely too many water issues this week. I just had to call maintenance for the third time this week about water coming from upstairs. At this point, I don’t think it’s their laundry equipment, but the plumbing.

Between this and DH’s adventures in amphibious driving, about the only places I want to see water for quite some time are a nice hot bathtub, toilets, sinks, or pet dishes.

I’m thinking of doing the same. The refrigerator really needs to be replaced.

hippie cute smilies! My pierced ears closed up many years ago, probably started after I had our daughter and didn’t wear any jewelry for years.

Hahaha. I loved Green Acres. Given any encouragement, I’ll start singing the show theme.

brussels sprouts?

have never heard this before and don’t know what it means.

Oh shucks, I wish I had seen this when I first got up. I love the parade but didn’t watch this morning as was very busy with some tasks. Hope you enjoyed yourself!

red Wow, you were really busy making a lot of things that I just love to eat; although I don’t know what haluski is. You’re a very good daughter. I’m sure your Dad is very appreciative.

nellie I didn’t know that your sight has recovered that well. I’m so glad for you. That is great!

metal mouse Yay for the new jacket being comfortable and warm for the current weather. Good choice.

Almost midnight so time to turn in. Made it to post 130 meaning I read more than 100 today. Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving Day and for Boo Fae to have had a safe journey and fun at what sounded like a music festival.

How do they fix crawdads in WV?

Thanks for that, I don’t know what was wrong with my attempt.

So Roomie and I went out to The Quay for turkey and mashed potatoes, with a side of family drama.
Roomie: “We should get back in time for the game, since there won’t be much traffic.”
Me, much traffic later: “tHeRe WoN’t Be MuCh TrAfFiC.”
But the Packers won, Da Bears sucked, Spot got some lunchmeat turkey, and now I’m up, caffeinated, and sheveled, and off to heave y’alls early black Friday stuff.

{{{{Coppertone}}}}

She seems normal to me.

Did you go full R. Lee Ermey on him?

I have a wooden cane that belonged to my great-grandfather. I never knew him. For the last couple years of his life he was blind and my mother remembers helping him walk out to the outhouse. She was elementary age then. She told me she recalled him tapping along with the cane. We must have been roughly the same height as the cane is just right when I use it.

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 11c/52f and cloudy. Weather app says “It’s a good day to be someone’s fucking sunshine, because that stupid ball of suck in the sky is fucking hiding.”

We made it to Largs on Wednesday with one stop at Annandale Water for food, spent the night at ‘im indoors’ mum’s place. His sister came down for a while and we had a good night. Yesterday I drove us down to Troon, couldn’t find a petrol station that was open and squeaked into Troon on fumes! Fortunately there’s a supermarket with a petrol station near our accommodation so I filled up there.

We are staying in a different hotel this year, but further to walk to the festival and it was very brisk out there! Got to the venue, got our weekend wristbands, said hello to a bunch to friends and waited for the festivities to start.

Very good opening day and I was able to pass on some cash to Black Lakes’ singer for their hexmas plan. They were asking for people to bring donations of toys to their hexmas gig in December but I can’t get to that one, so I asked Will if he would take the cash and get something on my behalf. Poor boy was quite emotional about that!

Hope you all enjoyed T-Day if you celebrated it. Big hugs to all of you, especially the FairyChats.

I have been having a terrible time falling asleep - I think it was nearly midnight last night, and I had to get up a tad after 6 for my Dr appt. I’ll be leaving in about 10 minutes.

FCD was in tears last night after talking with his mom - the stress is just tearing him apart. This all needs to be over. But he has to drive back to DC to see his brother today and talk to the docs after the pacemaker is implanted. Gonna be another long day. Dammit.

I’ve got laundry and the grands after I get back. The rest, I’ll make up as I go along.

Happy Firday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 45 Amurrkin out and drizzly with a predicted high of 56 and cloudy. Hope all the fools that must buy stuff today enjoy the weather. No plans other than high RDOS inactivities today. There are Turkey Day leftovers to take care of any need to feed. My DAWGS will for real swat the gNATS tonight.

JtC hope Jolene is good today. Y’all had quite the day yestiddy with hubs bleed, her gettin’ in the cranberry sauce and a big noisy TDay feast. Love the idea of the kids gettin’ there individual cans of spray whipped cream!

CupCakes and Boo Matt Mitchell is a hoot. He has all kinds of hilarious stuff on you tube. My favorite one is SEC roll call. The “Bless Your Rank” ones are also really good.

BooFae you done a good thing. Rock On!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Firday Y’all!

In the waiting room… waiting. Duh!

When I go out I normally assume that, unless I’m going to the library, I will not see anyone I know. Got to the clubhouse, and there – surprise! – standing in the doorway was one of the sonar techs I worked with on the tender, thirty-odd years ago.

The customary foods – turkey, dressing, mash, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, and both apple and pumpkin pies for dessert. Lady SCAdian went with me of course; our daughter was in the wrong portion of her sleep cycle, so we took a plate home for her. And no, I didn’t see anyone else I know.

I get to take the ( delayed) bus today, feels like uti.
Its been awhile, guess I was due.

I recommend he sell the jeep and buy a DUKW, if he plans to continue this practice.

{{{{Jolene}}}} Happy she survived the experience! (And so much for Luis Mendoza and his alcoholic Siamese…) A little surprised she went after the cranberry sauce, though after watching one of our cats munching on raw zucchini I suppose I shouldn’t be.

Woke up to 29*, snow on the ground and a mountain of dishes, pots & pans that need to be washed.

I know you wrote this on Wednesday but it’s appropriate for today as well. I’m going to go out mid morning and hope the crazy early crowds have dispersed a little.
taters you deserved to take a whole day off Wed and yes, to burn up a little of your comp time. I’m glad it worked out that you didn’t have to work.
Back when I was working the policy was that you could only carryover a certain amount of comp time from year to year and if you had more at the cutoff time, you lost it.

All right, on to the dishes. Hope you all will enjoy this day after T-day.
