(Old) The MMP is the place to be!

I went to Meijers as I was out of Orange Juice and its important.
I looked at the eggs-4.69.
Not bad. Meijers brand.
I budgeted and got a packet of deli style tuna ( for me, too much sodium for Moley) for a sandwich.
Had a pb & j sandwich for breakfast.
I got Chef Boy R Dee Cheesy Burger Macaroni, the least repulsive of the Chef Boy R Dee cans.
Tonight is Monday, so KillTony!

How’s the training?

Oddly, there’s usually an out-of-the-way rack of postcards at Wal-Mart. Usually by that weird aisle by the register where they have the “As Seen On TV!” crap.

That’s definitely your good deed for the day.

I hafta put on pants & { sigh of woe } run an errand. I don’t wanna, can you tell?
Then when I get home, I can (yay!) take off pants, then (woe again) call my mother.

Please adopt me.

I haz some confusions.

On behalf of

… I hereby nominate the word “shtappens/ed” into our weird language, because that word did not exist until now BUT IT SHOULD HAVE!

ETA: oh, yeah, @SuntanLotion did your training work (heh!) out today?

ETA 2: answered while typing.

Training is ok. Today I went around the store, being shown things.
I had some fatigue, still; but fought it.

KillTony is a popular open mic show based in Texas that runs every Monday at 9 pm EST.

That is very good to know, thank you! I’m a sucker for random “please send my class a postcard” pleas, I know I’ll be needing to do it again this time next year. (This is the time of year that youngsters are learning about the states and kids always love getting mail.)

Not really. It was very self serving, off ramps don’t often have nice things like that to look at. I’ve made sure that Sarah will keep her home brightly decorated until the day she dies so that people getting off the interstate can admire it. And I don’t really care about the other people, so basically she will be decorating for me forever!

Well that certainly explains the F-up.

Green Acres

My daughter certainly understands. She adopted Dakota in May 2014 and was told that she was 5-7; Dakota went seriously downhill starting in Aug 2017, went into the animal hospital in late Sept and the vet said that Dakota appeared to be 14 then Laps of Love came third week of Oct. So, when daughter was ready in early 2018 to adopt another dog, one of her criteria was that it needed to be no older than 3 (for real). Bella was just shy of 2 when she was adopted.

Well I’ve read about another 70 of the posts from Alexa mmp, only 70 more to go. Here are a few comments (you may question my concept of ‘a few’):

Oh no Baker, I’m so sorry to hear that. I hope you weren’t too traumatized.

I hope you asked to speak to a supervisor.

Perhaps it was the Holy Spirit.

Part of that for me is that I’ll stay up almost all night reading a great book that I find it very difficult to put it down.

Me too. I used to watch a real lot of MSNBC. Now I’m down to just Rachel and Lawrence. Hubs likes to put on Velshi on Sat/Sun so sometimes I see some of that. Oh and I like Jen Psaki a lot too.

Yes, I went to a Catholic school grades 1-6 and there wasn’t a school library. However, the public bookmobile came every few weeks and I always checked out the limit of books allowed. I also loved a bus full of books!

I am so glad that the surgery is a success! Yay for Hubs!
I also understand about monitoring/nagging about the restrictions. Hubs is under certain restrictions for another year, well 11-1/2 months as long as his recovery continues to progress. After his blood draw this morning, he went out for brunch then ran a few errands. When he got home, he was very excited to show me some of the results of the blood draw. His platelets are up to 200. The low end of the acceptable range for men is 150. Before his transplant at his lowest they were down to somewhere in the 20’s range, IIRC, I don’t think they went down into the teens but maybe I’m blocking a bad memory.

They don’t know what they are missing!

ok, going to start prepping dinner, chicken tacos (soft flour tortillas, 3 colors of sauteed bell peppers-NO green, sauteed onions, avocado, mushrooms, cuke coins, cheddar cheese)

I got in touch with Jessica - the Hospice aide - and she said she’ll try to come by this week to get the blankets. I also wanted to ask her whether she or one of her kids would be interested in coming by the house while we’re at Cades Cove over Easter vacation. I need someone to bring in the mail and scoop cat poop. Normally Daughter or SIL would do it, but they’re going with us, so…

Unless one of you wants to vacation in my house for a week??

OK, back to my recliner.

I’d LOVE to but the commute would be murder! If my pregnant daughter and two rowdy grandkids needing my ruthless and exquisitely expert wrangling weren’t 1500 miles away, I’d do it in a heartbeat. As long as I got a remote for the tv and could bring coffee and dark chocolate with me. Would there be a fireplace I could sleep in front of for a night or two?

Oh my gosh I’m going to have to find someone that can make one of these for me!

Thank you for this! The last time I seriously looked into getting another Kindle is when the Kindle Fires were all the rage and basically drowned out all the other models. I’ll give my friend’s Kindle a consideration then. She was talking about the adjustable lighting on it and I assumed it was a Fire, but I will approach it with an open mind.

But I still like my buttons…

You have just made her year. And her husband will never again win an argument about scaling back the decorations on the house :joy:

That sounds yummy! Okra was the reason that I hit Captain D’s this weekend. One of my local ones actually does a pretty good job on it.

Nelson is a native Texan, but he only lived there for the first three months of his life.

It’s not.

I saw a robin this afternoon! Here’s hoping that he wasn’t just lost.

I got the PJ pants that I ordered today, only they weren’t the ones that I ordered. I’m plus sized and ordered a pair of ladies’ aqua / white cotton flannel and got a pair of ~size 6, blanket weight fleece in rose and cream. I think I’ll stick to ordering them from the men’s listings from now on.

I wrapped up the latest card series last evening. I kind of liked the vintage / steampunk vibe.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Howdy Y’all! Been a rainy and dreary day today. We enjoyed bein’ inside, warm and dry. OYKW got his exercise in by goin’ to the mailbox and also draggin’ the biiiiiig trash can all the way up from the road to where it stays. I got mine while makin’ sup. I get many steps in whilst goin’ back and forth from sink, to counter, to fridge, to stove and so on. Sup got et and the kitchen cleanded up. Now we chill.

We are unsupervised tonight. My mom has a sleep study going on and I dropped her off a bit ago. And, exciting folks that we are, MusicMan is already in bed asleep and Annie and I are watching the first Knives Out movie.

ETA: How many times will I run my finger across my lips before I remember about the jalapeños that I chopped tonight for his Mac and Cheese???

Told my mom about the bookshelf.

Predictably response:

“Good. Get rid of those books.”

Yanno what? :imp::skull:

How did that woman raise such a wonderful person?

Mrs. L.A. had coleslaw and a King’s Hawaiian bun for dinner. I had a BBQ poke-and-coleslaw sanger. I didn’t eat all of the deadpig I’d heated up, so Mrs. L.A. mad a poke slider on a Hawaiian roll. Kitties got Temptation treats.

I’d add a :fu: to that myself. Books are a necessity. For all my problems with my mother, at least she gets that (never did figure out what she saw in NSDXSF, who sneered at reading for pleasure).

Today’s big project was getting DH’s prescriptions renewed for things like metformin and insulin. This wound up involving a trip to Kaiser’s “urgent” care, since we could not make an appointment with his actual doctor or any other useful option in the time he had before he was going to run out of metformin. Over 2hr wait, but we didn’t have to stay in the waiting area (they gave him a time to come back and texted him when they were close to ready for him), so we hit the hospital cafeteria for lunch. I had quite good “tuscan” cod and garlic rice.

We also hit the bakery outlet, so DH now has rye bread on hand, and I have the 12 grain/nut/seed bread that I was wanting for a PBJ. Also picked up some cherry preserves at Walmart after getting DH’s meds, and just polished off a sandwich with crunchy PB (we have both in stock, but I have a solid preference for crunchy). DH can surf leftovers or do something heat-and-serve as far as dinner goes.

Allie likes the high-calorie goo I got her, so must remember to indulge her with it.

Evening all. Dinner has been obtained and consumed. Financial stuff is done and is showing up in my account already, so the Edward Jones folks are doing their thing. About 35F outside so will be staying inside for the rest of the evening.

flyboy, deep breath and mutter ‘patience’ as necessary. Better luck with claim form Act 2.

Dammit, you folks will have me heading to Dunkin’ tomorrow…

Another Pepsi fan!

Never been a fan of Connections or Spelling bee, I stick with the crosswords and the Ken-Ken math puzzles.

The return is supposed to be better than other, safer options, but with a modest risk attached; only have about 10% invested there (everything else is in something safer), we’ll see how the next year goes and it I want to continue it or not.

lily, nice that somebody famous is among us…

JtC, and you had a nice day doing nice things. I am envious and must try to do better.

Meeting with the surgeon is not until 4 February (next Monday), but except for the gym and doing no heavy lifting, I can manage most things, like eating and shopping and tomorrow’s dental appointment. Just taking it slow and easy.

Cat Glove, great news for your Hubs, hope the news continues to be good.

red, sorry the clothes didn’t fit. I’ve bought comfy shoes and slacks on-line, so far no snafus.

And that’s all, folks. Will be heading off to bed relatively early tonight and see if my bladder will let me get a solid 7-8 straight hours (betting odds are I won’t). Take care now.

Up from naptime. Having an Old Fashioned, cheeseburger and fries. When I was turning on the lights, Spot was racing down the couch, and tried to jump onto the cat condo, but miscalculated and hit my butt. I turned around to watch him fall Wile E. Coyote style to the floor.

That’s what I have. I like it because it looks like the actual Hitchhiker’s Guide(and mine is named Don’t Panic

[Gomez Addams]Tish! You spoke French![/Gomez Addams]

If you get a pig, I will be Green with envy.

Did he come with a little Stetson?

Thought you might want to know that maintenance guy was back at work today. I don’t know what the diagnosis was. The manager said she’s making him bring in a doctor’s note. I told her to make sure it wasn’t signed in his handwriting.

I went to they gym and gym-ed all I could. I might walk Ms. Dog tomorrow afternoon.

So he doesn’t bark with a Texas twang?

Let the wild rumpus start!

Responses you wish you could make but never will:

  1. “Well, I’ll get rid of Magic Spells: How to Make Troubles Disappear because it obviously didn’t work.”
  2. “But then I wouldn’t have anything to do while pretending to listen to you.”
  3. “You keep telling me to get a better job, so I HAVE to keep How to Become a Stripper in 10 Easy Lessons. And I’ll tell the audience every bump and grind is dedicated to you. You’ll be famous!”

People who are mean to shoe bring out the worst in me.
