Happy BOO Day! I hope your day was great!
The bus had stopped in front of our house because someone walking had waved them down and then jogged half a block to get there. Then they had to wait for her slower friend to arrive. I know this because I went out to check and see if there was a bus fare issue. The bus driver - not the one I met - said that if I wanted to pay their fare I could, but she wasn’t going to leave them out in the snow for two bucks.
I keep telling people that I’m not nice!
Well, that kinda sucks. I hope it heals cleanly and painlessly.
I used to love those cars. I’d set them off when I was bored just because I was bored.
Cats, phone, wallet, pill box and stitching project. Most of my tower stuff is also on the cloud. I’d lose a few things, but nothing that was that important.
Do be sure to have a go-bag ready at all times, you never know when you will need to gtfo right now. My go-bag includes an unread paperback book, a small plastic canvas kit (smaller and lighter than carrying frames) and dark chocolate.
Thank you for sharing this. A local landscaping company came around and cleaned our driveway and walk this morning. They were doing their good deed for the community (we are on the official gimp list) and refused our money. I wanted to send them a check, but had no idea how much something like that was worth.
TBH, it wasn’t worth anything to us because we had things handled, but we want to encourage their kindness and maybe next time we won’t have things handled.
What does Ariel think about the snow? I used to have a friend with horses and he said one of them wanted to play all day in the pasture and the other one refused to step foot out of the barn when there were three flakes of snow on the ground.
Horses sounded a lot like cats when I listened to him tell it.
I made chicken rice soup today for just that reason. We had bean soup and cornbread yesterday and I’m thinking we need some corned beaf hash tomorrow. It’s just that sort of weather.
I’d make a fresh batch of Tea Cakes just for you!
Today I put a plate of bird treats outside the french doors and pulled the internal mini-blinds (just an example because it is so hard to explain. Excellent for homes with cats) down with blinds open so the cats could hide behind the slats.
The fuzzbutts are exhausted, they spent all afternoon staring out the window at all the flying fuds without a nap break!
That sounds like a wonderful dinner to me! Happy birthday to him as well!
That sounds like all you needed to get through.
We’ve only lost power that one night and that was only for a couple of hours. We have started running out of perishables but that’s just because we haven’t felt like going to the sto, not because we couldn’t get out.
The infrastructure today is much improved than the storm planning back in the '90s.
I’m glad you enjoyed!
After Hubs and I had laughed and pointed at the across the street neighbor long enough, I told Hubs that we shouldn’t laugh because they had a young child and maybe they really had an emergency…like no diapers or needed some cough syrup or something. We both laughed like loons when we saw the bag!
NF is a Karen and she is so very sweet, just an anti-Karen in every sense of the word.
Many hugs and good thoughts going her way. I hope things go well.
We still have bread, we have run out of milk, celery and white onions! I haven’t worn a bra all week, but it looks like that will be happening tomorrow.
Dang about the boat plans. I’m glad you found out before losing a lot of money!
We do, my worry here is what would happen if we both got run over by a beer truck. There are long term plans in place but nobody who would come over on a moment’s notice to give them dinner. I’m still working on that.
I know that I could count on Harry, but he’s 15 years older than me so that’s not a great long term solution.
Do ask SM about work paying for the shot though. The injury happened at work and they should have a process for this. If that falls through, I’ll kick in a few bucks to help the “No Lock Jaw for shoe” fund.
Do you have to wash his feet after walks through the salt slush? Or do you have some of those cute little booties for him? This snow stuff is all new and fascinating to me!
What a PITA! (very entertaining read btw) I hope work doesn’t fuss overmuch about the car still being there on Moanday.
That sounds so wonderful!
At least they haven’t all been dumped into a box with no writing. My CDO would be going nutz with that, I’d want to work unpaid OT just to get it cleaned up and sorted.
The world is probably better off that way. I’ll bet you and I could get up to some totally awesome stuff together. I’ll bet you would have loved to be involved in my door to nowhere! Probably would have done a much better paint job than me.
