(Old) Wait - what time is it in the MMP?

I’ll try for one when I’m not on the tablet.

But if you want to shave 38.5 minutes off that, try putting it in the microwave for 6 minutes.

I cleaned. Wolfpack and Dawgs lost. :(. And hockey isn’t looking so great. But I had chicken tacos with yellow rice, and a Sazarc to ease the pain.

I always love when they’re learning their “Order the servants around” voice.

Move to The Shire? But glad you’re feeling better.

Did you remember to sing “Soft Kitty” to him? {{{{OYKW}}}}

I need to watch that again. And Gumball Rally

Some of that will depend on who in charge at the state/county level, and how wealthy your Zip Code is. But I may see if I can upgrade from the Brita, just in case.

I was not informed that there was gonna be math involved.

ETA fucking hell, I just got the joke.

{ puts self in time-out }

There are better canal cruising shows. I fell into the rabbit hole during lockdown. Foxes Afloat was a good one, but now they’ve moved to upper Scotland and are no longer cruising. Great Canal Journeys is wonderful, if a bit bittersweet.

Shit, I told myself I’d go to sleep early, but it’s almost 1AM.

I once went to a restaurant with a church ladies group. We were all ordering seperately, and I was one of only two who didn’t order quiche. Don’t misunderstand, I like quiche but this place did a great burger and that’s what I ordered.

I spy with my little eye a piece of cake next to Swampy’s name. Happy Doperversary!

The kidney stone was the very worst pain I ever experienced; worse than childbirth which really wasn’t that bad, and worse than the surgery and aftermath for the basal cell carcinoma. What made the pain go away was morphine so pass the morphine for the next 4 years please.

That IS sad. yeesh.

MetalMouse very sweet of you. Maybe a new friend. Sounds like the gent might be lonely so I’m sure you made his week.

We’re having trouble with our refrigerator too. Sort of leaks from underneath and when the motor turns on, it is extremely loud. This started happening back when Hubs was going in for his stem cell transplant and I just haven’t made it a priority to do some research and buy a new one. Anyone have any recs?

Had a great Thanksgiving dinner and everyone pitched in.
Hubs made the turkey
Daughter made the stuffing, the mashed potatoes and the glazed carrots
Friend made the cranberry sauce, more tangy than our normal, but went well with the turkey, also the gravy
I made the green bean casserole
Bakery made the pumpkin and pecan pies

After dinner we ladies watched The Charlie Brown Thanksgiving while Hubs watched the Red Wings.

I had several bouts of kidney stones and the first one was indded the worst pain I ever felt. Even worse than the endometriosis. I never had kids so I can’t compare to that.

On a happier note I began work on a gingerbread house for a city display that starts next Friday. I started thirty years ago and haven’t done it every year but, say, two out of three. One year I found out that the display would be on hiatus but I had my plans all drawn up, so my sister and I worked on it together. I stayed after work and my boss let me work on it at my regular work station. It went on display in our cafe, with a silent auction bidding process. A reporter and photographer from the newspaper did an article about it. It was in 2005, and what I’d planned for was one of the few times I made a model of an actual building, a local church.

I have my dough made and the pieces cut out, but I won’t bake until tomorrow because I still need to cut windows and that is more easily done when the dough is chilled and firm.

It was a potluck; everyone brought something they made.
Awake to pee, hoping its not another uti.

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 10c/49f with a predicted high of 12c/53f, and mostly cloudy. Weather app says “It’s fucking cloudy and still not a day to blast out unsolicited dick pics to fucking random people.” Yeah, no day is a good day for that.

We are very lucky to have some good music venues within a half-hour walk of home, plus we have a couple of theatres in town, and pubs that will put on comedy nights and stuff like that. There’s plenty of entertainment in the Big City (25 mins away by train) but we rarely venture that far out now.

Sounds like fun! I remember that video you posted on one of your rides round the mowage area

I hope things improve for you too, {{{{{BBBoo}}}}}

Fabulous! And she’s started issuing her demands now, she’s settling in.

You can imagine the uproar when my dad dared to cook something in the stuffing dish! I don’t think she ever let him forget that. I haven’t got a dedicated item for anything much, but I do have a favourite wooden spoon

I make mine with frozen raspberries and blueberries.

Narrowboats are quite popular here, I have two friends who now live on their boats full-time. They always look really cosy too.

swampy sorry to hear OYKW is feeling bad, it’s definitely a good idea to sleep in the other room away from the germs - and one of you needs to be fit enough to make soup!

You are a good and kind person, always thinking of others. You deserve to get some of that goodness back.

Quiet night on the sofa yesterday, we watched a couple of films and I was in bed before midnight. This morning, feline tums and bums have been done and I’ve started clearing some of the clutter 'im indoors has left downstairs as I need to clean the window edges before the curtain man comes tomorrow.

'im indoors is still in bed so I will save running the rollsuck for later so that I don’t disturb him. I’ve got enough to keep me busy before then. Yesterday he mentioned possibly going out for lunch today so that might be on the cards, depends what time he surfaces and how quickly he can get ready to face the outside world.

He’s making dinner tonight, I think it’s going to be Chinese chicken curry and egg-fried rice. Anyway, time to get off here and put the telly on for the Remembrance Day stuff.

Hugs to the MMP!

Yesterday was a long and interesting day. Our handyman was here installing a new sink and a real door in the first floor bathroom. He also hung some pictures for my mom after 8 1/2 years. (The walls are plaster and lath and we never had the guts/gumption to do it ourselves.)

Then MusicMan and I drove a very long way to the middle of nowhere in Ohio for a birthday party. It was his stepsister’s 60th. It was a very nice party and I’m glad that we went. When we left they were playing Music Bingo which was kind of fun, but since we had 1 1/2 hours to drive back home and we were tired, we decided to go. Thank goodness the ride home was uneventful and free of deer crossing in our path.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 66 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 80 and cloudy with a chance of rain later in the day, maybe. Or not. TWPTB are bein’ all willy-nilly about that. The big item on today’s agenda is deheathenization in which I have Verger duty. The rest of the day shall be spent in high RDOS inactivities and takin’ care of the sickie. I took some homemade chikin noodle soup outta da freezer should he desire some.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Up, caffeinated and sheveled. Off today. I have not changed my sheets yet, because Spot has rolled himself up in the comforter, and is bunny kicking the snot out of it. It’s early morning handegg from Germany on tap. Which considering it’s 2 of the worst teams in the league, it will be the worst bombing Munich has seen since the 8th Air Force in 1944.

Good morning!

According to the weather reports, it’s 49 degrees and cloudy. Our high temperature will be 59 degrees, with overcast skies and periods of rain throughout the day. It will be soggy all week.

I am finishing the last of my coffee and will hop in the shower to run to the grocery store and pick up dinner fixings. My son is coming up, so I’d like to make a good dinner for him.

I also need to wash the sheets on both our bed and the guest bed.

Shoe, sometimes the most minor acts of kindness provoke the most significant reactions. I’m so glad you were the recipient of such an act.

I do not tip on taxes, but do round-up on the base amount.

You would think that with a number of stray cats running around (no thanks to the neighbor a few doors down from me), we wouldn’t have a rodent problem. Unfortunately, that is not the case. I thought we had actually nipped the problem in the bud, but this last August, I found two rats in my yard. They were on their last legs, having taken the bait from the pest stations, but still. So, we stopped feeding the birds.

I haven’t seen a snake in our yard in years. I miss the garden snakes. I also haven’t heard the tree frogs around here in years. In my first house, tree frogs lived in all my hanging plants and my garden, but I’ve not seen nor heard a single tree frog since I bought this house.

Okay, I’ve got to get crack-a-lackin’, feed the pups, and get in the shower. I’m giving everyone hugs just because.

Guess I’ll be looking after I’m done with this one. But the host/narrator/cruiser just cracks me up!

That, my dear, is an understatement! Near as I can tell, two people cannot pass each other without getting up close and personal, altho David did have a complete Christmas dinner prepared aboard and there were 5 of them around the tiny table.

OK, I know I need an eye exam - I read this as dinner frogs. And that was before I got to the end of your post.

MIL just got up long enough to pee and weigh herself (she continues to lose) then go back to bed. She said she kept having dreams that her BIL died and truly she looked awful this morning. I’m glad she decided to skip church and go back to bed (as is FCD - this church is heavy on politics and this is not the week for that BS.) I expect when MIL wakes, she’ll immediately call her sister.

Corned beef and cabbage for supper, but I have to decide if it’ll be slow cooker or stove top. Probably stove top, because that’s easier.

Speaking of dressing/stuffing - would it work using croutons? I’ve got two 2# bags that MIL brought back from when she visited her sister last year and while at first she snacked on them (she had 3 bags) she hasn’t eaten any in months and months. And I just know the day after I throw them in the trash, she’ll want some. Anyway, assuming they’re not green and fuzzy in their hermetically sealed bags, would they work?

I need to finish my morning intrarwebs perusal, research local handyman businesses, then shower and mulch/vac the front yard. And I’ll figure out the timing to start supper. And whatever else.

It’s 39°, overcast like it wants to rain, and all in all, not a pretty day. Happy Sunday anyway!

I’m aware. I go to exercise three days a week (half hour sessions) and stretch before my walks. I could up it to five days a week, I suppose, and they do offer a tai chi class one day a week.

Good morning all. Up early and got the laundry started, sheets and pillowcases are in the dryer and the mattress pad is washing. Also picked up my Sunday NY Times (even if I’m still 2 weeks behind, that’s a lot of reading) so it has been an active morning for me. Dinner will be meatloaf at Logan’s Roadhouse and then either sloth or gym time, depending on my mood. Only getting to 70F today and about a 2-in-3 chance of rain again, so the last mowage of the year won’t take place today.

As for the tipping discussion, most places here give an estimate for 18%, 20%, or 22%, usually without tax. If I’m paying by card I round up to an even number and if it’s cash I try to make it without the need for change for the server. That’s one reason I carry a pen most everywhere.

shoe, good people have good things happen to them, it’s just karma (and you are good people, never doubt that).

BBBoo, thanks for the clip, I’m sure the Michigan band is planning it’s reply, especially if they get the upset win in a couple of weeks…

Thanks for the recommendations; I’m more a airplane review guy (Noel Phillips and Josh Cahill are my go-to’s right now) but might peek in.

Cat Glove, early Thanksgiving dinner? Or last years?

Never had kidney stones and from the reports here and elsewhere it is one thing I hope to avoid in life.

Cupcakes, I’m sure the house will be a hit at the display. Happy baking!

boo fae, it would take me almost a half-hour just to walk to the nearest intersection and the only things there are two convienence stores and a drive-up coffee shop.

And that’s all the energy I have. For everyone, a fine and dandy Sunday and take care of yourselves, y’all hear?

Short answer from an old Iowa girl cook? Yes, miscellaneous croutons will work just fine for dressing/stuffing. Broth, diced onions, celery and Bob’s your uncle. Cubes of stale bread can be used up that way too. Save a good sized handful of croutons in a sandwich baggie in case MIL decides she wants some, which will guarantee that she won’t.

Here you go. The previous one was on the ag end of weed.

I hope that OYKW is feeling better soonest swampy.

That’s something that I’ll likely miss whenever I move from my current apartment. We have a lot of trees and are only a couple of miles from the lake, so I get to hear them when walking Nelson at night most of the year.

Actually, they’d be perfect.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to do KP / Sunday chores. I got a little 1.5# poke loin and some bacon out of the freezer to make mustard glazed, bacon wrapped loin for dinner, along with baked sweet potatoes and fried cabbage. Thus is the excitement of the day. :stuck_out_tongue:

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Booze, broads and brawling?

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and well wishes for Hubs health

I was a tad concerned that might happen but luckily no one lives in the house next door and the houses across the street are set back far from the street. My friend has 1-1/2 acres and we weren’t that close to the street.

oopsie I can understand your feelings about the landscapers and can commiserate. The lawn guy that Hubs hired cut down my marigolds between the tomatoes. I was very unhappy and Hubs let him know. Luckily they grew back; they’re good to keep bugs away.

Metal Mouse now that the soccer season is over perhaps it’s time for a trip??

isn’t this possibly an ordinance violation? perhaps let your fingers do the walking on your phone?
